  • The drive to reach Rooi Els from Pringle Bay was over in no time. As you come over the back of Klein-Hangklip Mountain on the R44 you are welcomed by a breathtaking view of the Rooi Els river mouth and the beautiful beach. Absolutely gorgeous! We noticed the town has no street lights and most of the roads are gravel and very narrow, which we love! Klein-Hangklip Mountain dominates the village. The roads take you almost all the way down to Rocky Beach and the fantastic views of False Bay. #DustBugs #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #rooiels #kleinhangklip

    Incredible drone footage which really highlights the ruggedness of the area. That modern structure in the first part used to be owned by the previous CEO of African Bank. Its more impressive when viewed from Clarence Drive as it is immersed into its surrounds and is probably less obtrusive than any other "structure" on that coastline

      Thank you for that info about the structure, we never knew that! I wish we knew to try and spot it from the Clarence Drive side, we always appreciate it when humans try and interfere with nature as little as possible. So happy you enjoyed the drone footage, rugged is the perfect way to describe this piece of coastline. 👌🏻

    Good morning, the drone footage of the coast and mountains gave me serious goosebumps, what beautiful scenery and the music you selected to go with it....just great !!

      Thank you for your kind comments, much appreciated. 😊 Luckily the wind played along that day and I was able to fly the drone, I'm still a little weary! It truly is a spectacular bay and I'm glad that it was low tide and we could see the rocks clearly.

    We always follow all your videos. We welcome your new camera assistant. We see that you use your drone camera while driving. amazing views of the sea and scenery. Interesting research on the areas you travel. The directions to the beach reminds of our trip to Cape St Francis to find the harbour. Thank you from Sean and Tracey KZN.

      ape St Francis is definitely on our list when we visit the Eastern Cape, you must've had a great time there. Thanks for the tip about the harbour, I'll keep that in mind. 👍🏻 My camera assistant doesn't believe in cleaning her lens, otherwise she's actually not that bad! 😉 I love including footage of the vehicle when I fly the drone, it makes it personal for us. We appreciate both of you being along for the ride, thank you.

    Good to see there are still cyclists! My mom keeps saying how dangerous those roads are, but I've cycled the route between Strand and Rooi Els hundreds of times back in the 90's. This video brought back great memories!

      The rugged coastline is awesome and the lack of wind allowed some quality time with the drone. Glad you enjoyed it! 🌊

    It would interest me to know how some people get those amazing pieces of land to build on??

    • @DustBugsTravel
      @DustBugsTravel  Год назад +1

      We've also wondered about that in the past. They're really lucky though. I would imagine some of the land has been in families for generations already though and sell parts of it off for new builds. 😁🏘️
