I love this trailer. Artyom doesn't fear death, or pain. His nightmare is not being be able to save everyone. If I recall correctly. At one point Anna, the girl holding his child, tells him, " You can't save everyone." But he tries to anyway. It's been a hot minute since I played the Metro games. But my God they're one of a kind. I just need to find the books.
It's too abstract for someone that has never been introduced to the franchise to even begin to understand, or enjoy. Also, I just don't think it's that great of a trailer. It's okay, but it's very convoluted and confusing, as most nightmares are, especially someone ELSE'S nightmare.
The books are all amazing. I've read them and listened to the audio books of them, they do such an incredible job of showing just how creepy and desolate the world is. Theres such an intense feeling of isolation and fear of the dark in them, the characters are much more in depth. Love the games so much and the books are even better
Metro Last Light would have been a MUCH better trailer to start off with. This trailer, Exodus, is just too freaking confusing for someone that's never played the game. It's a convoluted mess for someone that has no idea who the main character is. Also, it's just not that great a trailer. The Live Action Trailer for Last Light still gives me chills, and it sets the theme for the entire franchise. Metro Last Light's Live Action Trailer should definitely be on the list for trailers to react to. I think your dad would enjoy it much more. EDIT: The version with English Subtitles.

Also, in the books, there are no mutants, the only enemy are still humans and they´re beliefs (Reich, Communism). Best on Exodus is, that it starts where 2035 ended.
