Why only in north India and south india not in North-east India = Tripura , nagaland and arunachal pradesh etc.....
Tier 2 cities are the future. The country should develop tier 2 cities.
They should also develop tier 2 cities but it doesn't mean we should do it in place of these new metropolitan cities. Both have their own importance and we cannot ignore any one of them.

Chandigarh is actually not that great if you compare it internationally, yes I know it is very well planned but only if you compare it to other Indian cities, internationally Chandigarh is nothing.
New cities and tier 2,3 cities are the future.
Also we should focus on decentralisation and create more States.
Some states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Karnataka are very unevenly developed.
There should be atleast 40 states with 10 union Territories.

May be in Future Tier 2 city like 'Tirupati' will become the IT as well as industrial corridor...because it is near to chennai only 3 hrs journey and there are krishnapatnam port near nellore many industries in gudur, sullurupeta, naidupeta, renigunta and it is near to banglore as well...entire city is green and well maintained clean roads...nearby parks, Forts, temples, best educational institutions, waterfalls, sea and many more...

Developing new cities are most appropriate, but with proper master plan and
commercial feasibility . In next 10 years , every state of India should have one to two more new modern cities developed, to take the load away from their existing major cities.

All new mega cities should be built away from the existing ones and be greenfield projects - built ground up. Build mostly around ports and few in the heartland. They should be also close to national expressways. Each have its own regional airport. And ensure that there are no bangladeshi illegal immigrants.
