    Great review and tutorial on how to play! Really helped me brush up on the rules and recall some of those crucial rules that I miss during this intense moments (Always check if somebody is leaning, trust me). Also, top tier acting.

    I have an all in showing up. While I appreciate their attempts at trays, I will most likely be designing a 3D printed insert that organizes everything much better and still uses the storage box and core box.

    I stopped playing 6 siege because it was plagued by cheaters. I hope the board game isn't going to be flooded with hackers too.. at least I can get physical with them with the board game instead of shouting over a mic. 😬

    Review was amazing, thanks for this. I very grudgingly paid the extreme shipping and manufacturing fee with gritted teeth. Excited to hear the game lives up to the hype. Can’t wait to finally get it.

    Great review! as someone who played the video game but was never great at the gun skill aspect this game seems like a great choice. I think the biggest con for this game will be the limited availability of the physical edition. Unfortunately only found out about this game about a month ago. Talked to a few of my FLGS but no luck.

    Is there barbed wire? A item that takes up one square on the map. Takes movement points away or makes you end your turn if you walk on it. You could spend action points to destroy it. Only other thing I didn’t see was drone wall blockers and sensors.

    • @115-Gaming
      @115-Gaming  8 месяцев назад +3

      There are indeed Barbed Wire tokens! They end your turn if you move in them so you have to spend an action to destroy them first.
      And there are a few gadgets that can block Drones as well, Mute for instance is good at this.

    You mention that this is the best skirmish game you played. Can you point out comparison to popular skirmish games like Kill Team, Infinity and Malifaux?

    • @115-Gaming
      @115-Gaming  9 месяцев назад +6

      I’ve played a lot of Marvel Crisis Protocol and Star Wars Shatterpoint (does Legion count? I guess that’s a war game) myself. I haven’t played 40k or Kill Team but I have friends who play those.
      For me what it comes down to is the fact that this game’s ruleset is so much simpler and more streamlined without sacrificing the depth of gameplay.
      As well as the fact that games are consistently 40-60 minutes long. You gotta commit 2-3 hours for a game of MCP but with this you can play 3-4 matches in that time.

    thanks for all the videos on 6:siege, really looking forward to (hopefully) receiving the game :D im looking at the expansions that are still being sold on mythics site - do you have any input on what 'years'/operators would be the most interesting and different (from basegame) to invest in, if im only getting one or two (i know you have videos on the different expansions, but they are a bit hard to follow when i still havent played the game, and due to mythics situation i probably wont get to before its too late to buy expansions)? thanks again

      The thing I always tell people is if they can’t get them all, then just buy the ones that are their favorites from the video game and you’ll probably have a good time with those 👍
      If you haven’t played the video game… just get the ones with the coolest pictures 😅

    Very good video, however I wish it wasn’t so long.
    I have a question that you may not be able to answer. I got the base game and year 3 and year 4. I also got another map and I got the furniture. Am I going to create imbalance due to not having all the fighters?

    • @JackBorchers
      @JackBorchers 9 месяцев назад +3

      I'm not sure imbalanced would be the right word. More than anything some of your options will just be more limited.
      The big appeal to having the full roster is that you have multiple, varied options for your team building (for instance, there are only 4 hard breachers in the game: Thermite, Hibana, Maverick, and Ace. If you only have the core box and years 3-4, you'll only have access to Thermite and Mav)
      More than anything it'll just limit your team building tools, but it wouldn't create any major imbalances imo.
      Hope this helps, I know I'm not Ethan but I've been playing just as long, this'd be my take on it

    • @115-Gaming
      @115-Gaming  9 месяцев назад +4

      I’d agree with Jack’s take. It wouldn’t be imbalanced at all. With base box, years 3 and 4, and four maps, you’ll have years of replay-ability.
      Jack and I played with only 12 ops (6 for each side) and on one map for over a year and didn’t get tired of the game. So you’ve got plenty 😎

      @@TheBrokenMeeple I made a conscious decision to avoid talking about the MG situation in the video because I didn’t want to overshadow the actual review of the game itself (though I originally included an entire section of the video’s script to it).
      I might someday take the material I wrote for that section of the video and discuss it one day, but it just didn’t feel like it belonged in this video.

    Really great review I just think there were a few flaws like talking about how people at different skill levels might suffer because of one holding back but I think the way you balance out different skill levels playing with each other is by giving different time clocks to certain people so maybe a new guy gets 6 minutes, and a very experienced person will get 2 minutes. Another issue I had was when you were talking about the operators balance and I don't think the game has been play tested that much to say there will be no issues of must pick and ban operators. I imagine the dev team has done their best to find any obvious flaws but if this was to ever have a pro scene I promise you that you'll notice the operators won't have the same pick rate.

    • @115-Gaming
      @115-Gaming  8 месяцев назад +3

      The game does have variable time clocks to help balance out, but if you’re playing with a brand new player, they will still struggle hard in those first few games. I’m speaking from experience here, I’ve taught many new people and this is just something that happens. It’s kind of like Chess in that way. You could give a veteran a 2 minute timer and a brand new player a 15 minute timer and the veteran is going to wipe the floor with them just from familiarity with game knowledge. If you’re like me, this isn’t a big problem because I don’t mind using several games whose main purpose is to help teach a new player, but I know others won’t like this.
      As for Operator balance… Ive talked with the developers of this game and it was playtested very heavily. While sure, if this went into a super professional scene, you might see some Ops maybe get picked a little more (which I’ve seen only a little bit of while playing this game for the last two years), there’s never an Op that gets picked that is broken or unbeatable. Any player can beat any combination of Ops. It’s all about the tactics and strategy, not about picking the “best” Ops. Again, just speaking from experience, been playing the game on TTS for a long time, and the “meta” there shifts more due to player preference as opposed to anything that’s overpowered.

    It looks fun, but I can't in good conscience ever want to play or buy it, knowing the background how hard Mythic has ripped off its supporters with this and other projects. Though well-designed, this game robbed people of multiple hundreds of dollars and many aren't sure they'll ever receive it.
