SUBBED, Congrats on 1k sub !!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$. Thank you for the great honest review, I sold my traditional drum, looking for portable studio drum for recording.
Great review! Thanks! Even tho this unit is a step above the cheap units, what I like is that it has plenty of inputs and outputs unlike the cheapies and includes MIDI!
Yes, when using the USB connection, MIDI data is also available for external pads and triggers that you connect to this. You can also edit the MIDI note number for these in the settings.
yeah it should be good for that, if you're getting any latency just take some steps to try to reduce it (e.g. use ASIO driver, increase audio buffer, etc)
Very good review thank you! How does this pad compare to a midi keyboard with drum pads? Which one is more useful for amateur song creation? Also, past the default 30, how many additional drum sounds can be placed in memory? Thanks agsin!
Hi just bought one please I need help in steps how to change sounds on different pads my own custom way, what's is the software needed and how to do it on the avatar machine or on computer
My custom samples loaded very quickly, in fact, I think switching between kits seemed about as fast as with internal sounds. You don't get a sample loading lag from this like you get on the Alesis Samplepad Pro.
Out of the box, the hi hat functions are all on pad #9. But being left handed this is a problem. So I would like to reassign the hi hat options to pad #7. Is this possible ? In other words, how does one reassign the designations of the pads, for instance snare on #9 instead of #8, etc. etc. ? Also, I did not see the link for HXW to download the updates ...
Hi PJ, you can change the pad sounds in 'Wave' options, and change pad 7 to a hi-hat sound. For the hi-hat pedal, you can change the pad for this in the Setup > Extpad. Then change 'control pad' field to pad 7. I'll update the links in the description later.. if you go to the blog post on my website linked in the description, I have a link to HXW. Looks like they moved the downloads to the 'Download' menu option on their website. Look for 'firmware update' for the Pd705
Would you recommend this device to use with a Roland DR880 drum machine and Roland JDxi synth through traditional Midi Thru connections? No one talks about that@@electronicdrumadvisor
Hey, just Google 'free drum samples' and there are a pile of free resources. Go for WAV format. It possibly might accept others as the Wavemanager software seems to accept others, but generally you'll find samples in wav format anyway.
It seems like this pad is white labeled and sold by a bunch of different brands. I haven't used the millennium drum pad but they look exactly the same and from a glance, it looks like they have the same specs.
FYI, people have said the dbdrums npad and gear4music dd90 are the same (or very, very similar) as this. Possibly just as white labelled or rebranded products. Maybe you could get one of those easier.
Hi Jules, importing samples works well, but it's very basic. You use their wave manager application on your pc/mac to load samples and assign them to pads, you then load the generated file from that onto a USB. On the device.... you don't get the option to edit start/end points for samples so you need to make sure they're right before you put them on the device, and effects are very limited (EQ, Reverb, Limiter).
@@juleshammond5525 custom samples are added through a load process by using a USB drive. You can't load samples on the fly through another device via USB. Other than that, if you're thinking about backing track type samples, there is an aux input for direct play through, but I didn't try that, and I'm pretty sure there's no option to control volume or alter the aux audio feed in any way.
I just got one and its a total piece of crap. Yours seems to have great sensitivity the one I have does not no matter the settings. I also hooked up some external roland triggers with a similar issue. Its total flop IMO. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
That's a pity - maybe they're inconsistent with production. Have you tried to update the firmware just in case its a software issue? www.hxw-music.com/h-col-114.html
Probably the easiest way would be to do a search for free VST drum plugins, Download/install the one's you like to your computer, Get some kind of USB/Midi cable to link your pc and multipad, Use the multipad to trigger the samples (Typically you can configure the samples/pads within the VST's settings)
FINALLY.... I don't care about built in sounds.. I want to upload my own sounds. Heck, for all I care they deliver it wiped.
PREACH BRO!! Same here lmfao
So I’m new to the production side of things. And especially in terms of percussion. Curious on where you guys get your sounds
Is there a way to output the metronome and the auxiliary audio only through the headphone jack and not through the main output?
Odd question: can this be played with your hands (without drumsticks)?
Late answer to a not so odd question in case anyone else wonders... yes it can - adjustable sensitivity and threshold on each pad helps.
How is this compared to the Alesis samplepad pro?
Excellent review. Thanks 👍
Does it have a click track that you can route to headphones and not front of house?
Is it possible to upload a loop that isn't one of a drum? Like a piano or guitar loop to adorn a part of a song?
Can it tempo sync loops to the bpm of the kit you select
Thanks for the great info! I'm glad you don't do dishonest reviews :)
hahaha
I am having trouble setting the pad sensitivity on this unit? I see where it is on the menu but can’t seem to select it for adjustment?
SUBBED, Congrats on 1k sub !!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$$$. Thank you for the great honest review, I sold my traditional drum, looking for portable studio drum for recording.
Thank you! :) and I'm glad you found it useful!
I picked up a roland kick drum - will it work with this do you know ? Thanks ...nice review.
Does it do Velocity Switch between 2 different sounds?
Can you take sounds from different factory kits and make a user kit?
Can the hi hat program to the left pad instead and the hi hat foot controller recognize the changes?
Can you have different loop on each 9 pads, not playing at the same time but just different loop on each pad
You're a sick drummer

Isit has midi pattern maker or wave like SX, and how many user it has
I waited , and sub you 999 ,1000! I am looking for drum pad like pd705 thank you for your great review. I was also looking at Bop Pad.
Is there a maximum length of sample that can be loaded?
Namaskaar sir. Is avtar PD 705 and Msp 20 same .?kindly clarify
Anyone got any tips how to get Logic Pro to recognize this thing?
What is the memory and largest USB key size in terms of GB I can put in the back with samples?
How do delete loop
can I export the recorded midi file ?
Would triggers that I plug into the device also be midi controllers as well? Would the triggers on acoustic drums are youn thr the usb B cable?
Yes, when using the USB connection, MIDI data is also available for external pads and triggers that you connect to this. You can also edit the MIDI note number for these in the settings.
Can i use this for recording with my audio interface?
What do you mean?
i would of loved if you would hit every pad not just some? latino kit would of sold me but idk?
Tengan en cuenta que en este pad si pueden crear layers en sus pads y asignar un pedal hihat, en la sdp sx no puedes hacer eso
I plan to use this just for recording midi inside of FL studio is it pretty responsive with that? Thanks! I'm no drummer
yeah it should be good for that, if you're getting any latency just take some steps to try to reduce it (e.g. use ASIO driver, increase audio buffer, etc)

Hi, I've written about how to load custom sounds here: www.electronicdrumadvisor.com/hxw-pd705-review-avatar/
How fast (or slow) does it load custom samples?
My custom samples loaded very quickly, in fact, I think switching between kits seemed about as fast as with internal sounds. You don't get a sample loading lag from this like you get on the Alesis Samplepad Pro.

What is the difference between the Avatar and thé Millenium Nonapad
It seems like this pad is white labeled and sold by a bunch of different brands. I haven't used the millennium drum pad but they look exactly the same and from a glance, it looks like they have the same specs.
Anybody have trouble connecting the PD705 to their Windows 10 pc by USB? Mine is showing an error message in Device Manager.
What do the congas and African drums sound like?

Hi, I have created a few test midi sounds and I need to delete them. How can I do this?
Hi , how to re-positioning pad sound ?. Means im want to use hhat on the left pad instead right pad. Thanks in advance.
so, would you say that this is better than alesis sample pad pro? i need information on which to buy
Yes, I have owned both and I would pick this above the samplepad pro
@@electronicdrumadvisor too bad, if i want that hwx i need to order straight from china :(. the cost is too high

Electronic Drum Advisor so it’s a one way sampler
Electronic Drum Advisor can you just sample sounds from one device to the pad via usb

Electronic Drum Advisor got it
It is no longer available on Amazon.
It is back now
found one for $200. i just want to step on it while playing guitar to play samples of people saying things, and crickets chirping when my jokes fail.🍻
Looks very like the Gear4MusicDD90
Trey Well
Its like Ashley DME 705
Yeah looks like it's effectively the same product under a different brand name. I've seen that a lot with this pad.

Este avatar vs npad dbdrums cual es la diferencia alguien por hay q tenga algun dato sobre eso??
Creo que son exactamente el mismo... pregunte si puedo instalar el software del Npad a este avatar...pareciera q si
