He is not using playback here. Listen to a version from the audience, not from the TV station. They put the chorus over Danny's voice because his mic was too quiet.
Thats right. Its not really playback (lip sinc) but he's singing over is own voice.

@XxGrizzXx115 mostly because the chorus is in a higher pitch and he has the audio playing in the background and he sings along to it to make him sound more like the song.
I agree, luckily when HU came to buffalo J3T put on a really good performance, videos are posted on youtube if curious.

@darthnessa its not an echo its danny singing and the first one you hear is the recorded voice put over him
The one with the electric drums is Da Kurlz. The other drummer is just their touring drummer and Da Kurlz is considered their drummer.
War mein drittes Mal, zweites Mal Danny und er ist live einfach soooooooooooo gut! Danny kann alles! :)) Live ist er 100000x besser als Deuce. J-Dog, Charlie und Funnyman sind meine persönlichen live-Helden!
@MajorNr01 True, they should've had Rock am Ring in LA or anywhere in the states, watch the crowd go nuts when they get on the fuxxen stage!

@iamsomersndomdude They originally wore masks because they didn't want their identities to be revealed and they wanted to show an artistic side. It also is pretty challenging to wear a mask and rap/sing at the same time.

The thing is that, Danny's microphone does only have echo in the start of the song where he songs "NOW!".
The microphone man forgot to turn the effect off before the chorus, which make it sound so horrible.

actually there was a problem wit the mic the fixed it but forgot to turn it up till later in the show
Did any of you ever stop to think that they may just be using a mic distortion? It is not uncommon to use echo technology for live performances. Unfortuanly whoever programmed it failed because the echo was far to behind.

Uhmmm I dont know, If it was because of the backtrack then why you only hear Danny's studio version? all the other members voices are completely live.

@knownasbeck "The shadow of death" part is J-dog rest is danny i think, i tried chek on lyrics at google but no clue on there since it only was lyrics not who sung each part, but shadow of death is J-dog rest is like only danny (and maybe j3t i dunno for sure)

@MyPlaya1996 Listen at the begining of the song, there is an echo each time Danny is screaming " now " ... the guys from the technique never removed that echo from Danny's mike, so that whys everyone thinks that he his lip syncing or that he his singing over a backtrack ... I saw a lot of band who where using backtrack or were lip syincing, and I can truly say they were not !
Most bands play with their recording in the back ground. The echo from the studio version can't be done live so they just play it in the back ground. Besides he wasn't trying to lips sync singing live is different so it might be off
