This is officially the coolest thing unveiled so far this year, a way for lives to be positively impacted by technology. Hats off to you Microsoft, and I hope other companies follow suit.
Never been prouder to be a geek. My wife has a condition and is slowly losing her sight. She watched this and was amazed, please can Microsoft take this forward and make it available for the visually impaired community?
This is a real contribution for those who cannot see things as we do. I am currently working on a recognition system and I will develop a system to help these people to improve their lives. Thank you, Microsoft. This is a huge step to help those people.
That one dislike is probably from another blind guy who doesn't have those glasses, and hence he couldn't tell the difference between the "like" button and the "dislike" one.
Omar! that the first phase next will be the affordability . All those thing which we use today they all are very expensive in start . Even Billions of people (Died)of the planet never imagine these invention because they were not born in this century .
I am glad that my focus is AI when doing my CS degree. It will be an honor for me to help in improving other people's life. This video is such a great inspiration. Well done Microsoft.
Look up voiceover screenreader. Not only r all of apples products (EVERY) accessible. But it's all built in which means no extra cost. With Microsoft, programs like jaws screenreader are upwards of $1200.
+Vash Rein In the U.S. it's usually less than that. VoiceOver is great. Hats off to Apple. But JAWS is better (and it's a product for Windows, not a Microsoft product).
+Ali H if you pay attention to more than marketing you would know that it is getting more expensive to create cpus due to it being harder to create things on smaller nodes
That's fantastic, and I hope this continues to improve. One of the biggest problems is recognizing facial expressions, something even humans have difficulty with. For instance, was that guy surprised? He didn't look that way to me.
Microsoft is usually caught on the back foot but this is really special. Dear Microsoft, pls don't spoil it or slow it down with monetary considerations thank u.
Saquib ....you killed it bro....magnificent app....I think people should develop more of these apps which will really benefit the people rather than making useless apps which are good for nothing.
I love the fact that Microsoft overlooked a mans disability and hired him based on his programming skills. It's great to know that some companies can judge people equally based on the skill required
Oh my...I cant stop feeling happy for people who would get to see our beautiful world by this app ! This really made me happy as well as excited for all that's to come :D
Hats off to the spirit of the guy. great invention of this time while others are trying to make HD, 4k which is not that much need. thanks to Microsoft taking a step further for such great invention
is it possible to make something on the tung that replaces vision? like different flavors and strengths for colors and brightness, along with something on the arm brushing against it for objects and stuff, and this thing
his glasses are not available to me here, they seem to be out of stock all the time... can anyone tell me what smart glasses will work with seeing AI.... unless my ipad takes helium, it is too heavy to holds all the time,
Amazing! Thanks to the latest computer technology with the use of intelligence interfaces became possible to help blind or visually impaired people to see the life around you, recognize faces, text, movement of objects and people. Fantastic! I put your video on my Facebook! Thank you!
While doing research on cognitive services, I came here, seeing how good this can be but thinking it's kinda abandoned. I mean, the How-Old app never changed and I don't think it's working as intended. Is there more research done on these subjects?
Hey there, Hope you're doing fine to all. I'm blind and It's really easy if you have the tools. I've dabbled in programming a bit. I do a bit of HTML and a bit of C#... I'm not much of a programmer. but I spend more time as a audio/sound ingineer and radio broadcaster. This is very nice that microsoft is doing this. the question is, how much is it going to be? jaws for windows is so freaking expencive and not everyone can afford it.
+Nanda Sithu Saqib is a great guy, I was at uni with him, he makes use of screen readers, when I last worked with him he had it set to such a super fast rate I couldn't understand what the reader was saying. You can have the reader read out the text of a whole screen, window, control, line or block and a few other things. They can read out different styles/colours in difference voices or volumes too.
Lookup jaws screen reader. It's one program that makes Windows accessible. On the apple side, look up voiceover screenreader. There r many programs for accessibility
this is amazing! If AI is developed far enough i can imagine it remembering certain things. Say his wife changes her hairstyle or sth and without her telling him, he brings it up with the help from AI. It'd be mindblowing!
It is one of the best story, I ever heard, i was today at the Tech Summit in Frankfurt, i had expected more from cognitive services presentation... it was not good this time, must a year ago i saw you in this video, and i got love with azure:) I beleave, you can read my post, without seeng it
just hard to figure how he can write code, must be special text to speech otherwise get quite an earful reading out hundreds of lines of code, especially when there's variable and function names that aren't meant to be pronounced.
I don't know what i am surprised more at? A blind man getting this great AI tech or him coding in front of computer screen being an engineer at Microsoft.
This is officially the coolest thing unveiled so far this year, a way for lives to be positively impacted by technology. Hats off to you Microsoft, and I hope other companies follow suit.
This is a great example of how multiple technologies are coming together to make something amazing.
+Steve Case Thank you, we agree!
Never been prouder to be a geek. My wife has a condition and is slowly losing her sight. She watched this and was amazed, please can Microsoft take this forward and make it available for the visually impaired community?

Yesss Microsoft back at it again with the great innovations
An initiative that rendered me speechless…Thank you for this splendid notion…Microsoft!!
This is a real contribution for those who cannot see things as we do. I am currently working on a recognition system and I will develop a system to help these people to improve their lives. Thank you, Microsoft. This is a huge step to help those people.

I love how Microsoft's innovations are always actually useful and empower people.
Watching this just gives me chills, that's amazing! Makes you wonder what else can be done for other disabilities, like the deaf, mute, etc.
That one dislike is probably from another blind guy who doesn't have those glasses, and hence he couldn't tell the difference between the "like" button and the "dislike" one.
😂
+Omar Alomari People who dislike videos on youtube r actually saying 'dis-I-Like'
Omar! that the first phase next will be the affordability . All those thing which we use today they all are very expensive in start . Even Billions of people (Died)of the planet never imagine these invention because they were not born in this century .
This is awesome! I was misty eyed after watching this.. Great work Microsoft
WHAT? Those Microsoft Boy's at it again. AMAZING.
I am a self-employed Apple Developer, and a person with a disability. Even I am impressed with this. Way to go Microsoft!!
just to say WOW, Microsoft always changing the people lives
IKR! :)
I am glad that my focus is AI when doing my CS degree. It will be an honor for me to help in improving other people's life. This video is such a great inspiration. Well done Microsoft.
meanwhile Apple is making different screen sizes
+Fals3Agent While being more greedy and increasing the price of their iPad because of the innovative "pro" word.

+Cadet Sparklez Im guessing you don't know how many silicon atoms are in a distance of 14 nm
That's fantastic, and I hope this continues to improve. One of the biggest problems is recognizing facial expressions, something even humans have difficulty with. For instance, was that guy surprised? He didn't look that way to me.
Absolutely impressed! Brilliant innovation, and big respect for Saqib!

This is Amazing!
How can someone possibly dislike this video
This is inspiring to me doing a computer science degree and majoring in cognitive science. Good luck Saqib!
Thought exactly the same! What a motivational Story. At my University we work on an intelligent home to help old people in their daily life.
one of the several reasons why i have always been passionate about MSFT

Absolutely, undeniably, amazing! What a time for a blind person to be alive.
This is amazing. Well done, Microsoft.
How does this camera transmit what it sees to my brain?
This is awesome. I like the human touch of 'approximate' answers ('I think there is...')
I cried watching this. It's amazing what humans can achieve
Inspiring! Really intrigued by the live feedback of the menu in relation to the camera. Anyone know what Azure API that's hooking in to?
what's the title of the song played in background?
Amazing inspiring story

Does anyone know how Saqib is programming? Which tools is he using?
is it possible to make something on the tung that replaces vision? like different flavors and strengths for colors and brightness, along with something on the arm brushing against it for objects and stuff, and this thing
or just make a visor, tap into the brain and directly transmit it
Très émouvant, on s'aperçoit que nous ne développons qu'une petite partie de notre cerveau. L'homme est plein de ressources.
Is there a similar technology that helps to communicate with people having hearing and speaking difficulties? Thanks
It's Incredible Microsoft👏
I don't think it's an April fools prank ,,,,,, we are still in march !!!
amazing Microsoft !!
I think Microsoft has always produced useful things to please the world

Its really awesome how developing this can hardly turn a profit but they do it anyways
Is this app available yet?
This is so incredible :)
Is this app available in Romania?
Amazing. Is this also provided as a developer API service? Coz that would be really cool!
Can This application Read an article by using the link to the article?

I don't think they are out in the market. But it will happen real soon...keep checking Google about it so you're updated.
Badar Ismail But wait, this is Microsoft, so you should use Bing!
***** Haha. Good one
I use both, but Google more.
This is good innovation 👍
Incredible!
Which is this app
Wow Artificial Intelligence is getting more advanced, useful & productive!
Saqib should be a role model for all of us developers.
If he is blind, how does he code!? I REALLY MUST KNOW!!!
