You know what really bothers me about the intense focus liberals exude on the gun violence statistic is that it's misleading. When you only focus on that one statistic, yeah, it'll seem high compared to other countries, but when you look at violent crime in general, the US is one of the safest places on Earth. Who cares if it was violence with a knife, or gun, or car, or anything. The point is violence happened. That's what your concern should be. It's almost as if liberals don't have a problem with any of the other violence that happens in the world because there were no guns involved. It's the most superficial view of violence one could have. Another thing that really bothers me is that when liberals talk about lowering the instance of gun crimes they always go for the restriction of freedom as opposed the stupidly obvious issue of drug prohibition. If they actually cared about lowering gun violence, which they don't, they'd call for ending the drug war.
