Sounds like you had some fun with this. I specced my X20 entirely through the online builder (including a super quilted tamo ash top). It arrived looking exactly like the simulation. The only thing which wasn't bang on was the inlay. I chose silver dots and they stand out on the simulation, but more or less disappear into a black fretboard in life (at least in my superannuated eyes). So if you like to look at the front of the board be aware. In passing, I had separate, adjustable saddle pieces (like a strat) with my ghost piezo/K&K combo. There's been lots of comment about putting strat style saddle pieces on acoustics (It's suggested it CAN be done without compromising sound provided really high end ultra-lightweight components are used). On the Emeralds, it has no effect on the unamplified sound at all, and offers really simple action and intonation adjustment if you need to.
I’ve got an X10 and a X20-12 (12-string) from Emerald and they’re keepers. Highly recommend, though I get why some might hesitate since there may not be a chance to try one beforehand. If I ever get another, maybe it’d be a baritone.

Their builder is great. Their guitars are gorgeous. Carbon fiber has a really specific sound. I actually ordered one at one point but somehow the order didn’t take. Figured, not yet…

Absolutely beautiful instruments, design marvels, but, there’s something missing. Resonance perhaps, middle/bass perhaps, volume maybe, but soul, definitely. I’m sure they will get there eventually. 🍻
Yes, the Emerald guitar builder is good fun and useful too, but it is unquestionably in second place to the outstanding Lakewood guitar builder. If you have not seen it, do yourself a favour. (Be sure to do it when you have an evening to spare - it's easy to spend hours there!. I am not aware of any others in the same class as these two but would love to learn of such if they exist.
Do you consider the x30 to have a more balanced and louder sound that the x20 you tried before?

I'm thinking of a X30 (have an x10 being built)...how does it compare comfort-wise, to the x20. If you were doing a 3 hour gig, which would you choose? :)

Mind- (& most likely wallet-) blown. Going to have a play with this design tool myself, but even now I can see that I’m going to have to investigate how to mortgage one (mostly continent) Mother-in- Law in the not-too-distant future. Fairly sure Mrs Museumsbloke won’t mind too much
