I love how despite the boss's moon rabbits looking horrific, they still display a few cute rabbit-like traits, like how their eyes show a pained expression when they do that body-slam attack into the ground. I can't help but say "awwww".
It feels like once Igarashi got his “fuck you” to Konami across, he decided to go further and outdo Castlevania, which he’s doing so far. I don’t think any of Vania’s retro games had bosses as over the top as the Curse series. Let’s see how well Igarashi’s next metroidvania does.
@@AzureMoebius22 I mean, over the top doesn't necessarily mean better, and Bloodstained is ridden with inspirations and little references to Castlevania anyways.
I guess if we're lucky megaman is going to drift towards the earth... Or this is the prologue to the flooding of the world creating megaman legends lol
... I just realized that you can in fact just go under the skeleton head when it spits green fire at you... I used, as Ultimate Mode Zangetsu, to just time my double jump and then slash the flames to take no damage with a strict timing... ... I feel really dumb now.
That's actually pretty rad. I love that the game has this as a prominent mechanic. It leads to awesome moments like these. Something I like to do against the chariot boss is use Zangetsu's talisman to block the flames and take the opportunity to attack it up close
I like how people are basically calling episode EX's ending a literal bad end; considering the destroyed moon's effect on Earth and humanity. Honestly, that's a fucking great set up for COTM3. Where we basically get to see it's effects on Earth, and Alfred and the gang need to seek alchemical elements from all over the world just so they can perform a ritual to create a new moon.
Zangetsu and the Doom Slayer would get along great. Zangetsu sliced the moon in half, the Doom Slayer shot a hole into the surface of Mars. Destroyers of worlds gotta stick together!
This game was so awesome that I actually sort of prefer it to the main game that it spun-off from. This boss fight was so cool in all of it's versions while I can barely remember the Dominique battle from Ritual of the Night.
I don't really think that would be a good idea since Bloodstained isn't a well known series, but having him kick Ganondorf up to the moon and cutting both them and the moon in half sounds super badass
What's with this song? Not only have i spent a long time listening to this while trying to beat the boss with solo static zangetsu, but now i've been listening to this on loop since and i'm not getting tired of it xD Its so awesome
I feel like it adds some more impact when the ending is the moon being cut in half no other cutscene. You know everyone is probably dead but dammit that final bit with Hachi, Dominique, and Zangetsu is just so damn cool
Finally, we get to see who the supreme mastermind behind all the demons is! It's.....a giant satanic angel with a bloody gaping hole for a face... I think Zero Two wants his job back
Even better, he's an obscure reference. The fallen Grigori (watcher angel) Sariel, who assisted in leading astray the men of Noah's time by teaching them the course of the Moon instead of the humans learning it themselves, resulting in the world being such a crapsack mess that it took Noah's Flood for my Boss to clean it up.
Let's see... A sort of vampire, a priestess, a samurai, a girl good with blades and an alchemist go to the Lunar Capital to stop an ongoing invasion coming from the Moon itself lead by the Fallen Angel Sariel. And with lots of bullets thrown in. Why does this sound like something else I know?
Has anyone wondered what would actually happen after the moon got cut in half? I mean, it still retains it's mass and gravity, wouldn't it just stick back together immediately? The slice seems clean enough to not produce too much debris. If there's enough force in the slice to actually PUSH both halves of the moon completely apart, then it's a different story, but both of them would collapse into themselves to form smaller moons. Now, whether or not either of them (or both) would crash into the Earth or just keep orbiting is up to debate. I personally think it should just stick back together like nothing happened.
I just realized in the description you say you don't know how to avoid some attacks. I'd say the most important thing is to figure out exactly how many hits you can place before getting ready to dodge the next one, sometimes, you can only his him twice before you have to get moving to avoid an attack. When rays fall from the sky and causes the floor to damage you, you need to get under the head that rises up so you have enough room to jump since the projectiles only fall in the middle of the area. When a head fires a wave of red spikes that bursts from the ground, you need to be at the right distance to jump forward and land just in from of the face because the spikes grow higher the farther back you are. As for the two moons, you get under the one that flashes first, and jump over the other, its just a matter of finding the sweet spot where to stand you almost had it in the video. You seem to be able to dodge the rest of the attacks well enough, though.
something I just realized but you might be able to just...cut the other moon. you literally have daizangetsutou, it's probably an easter egg or something.
@@jakedge3 That would seriously be awesome, lol. There's a video out there of someone beating all bosses on Hard with basic Zangetsu without taking damage or using any subweapon, its really enlightening.
I did this with Ultimate Zangetsu since I went with the other ending first, and it was way easier thanks to him having his dash and double jump. One of the rabbit attacks is still too precise for me to dodge consistently, but it's possible.
I did the non solo version of this boss. Seeing how attacks were hard to dodge, I just did like this: focusing on taking out the rabbit heads as quick as possible with everyone(except Alfred and Dominique), meaning in the process I would simply take hits. Then I used Dominique to do the upward attack and spammed Sariel with it. When sariel use the multi crecent moon attack, I switch to Alfred and use the fire shield.
I mainly reserved the fire shield for the rabbit’s flamethrower as well as the crescent moon. I used Miriam to dodge the moons, and Hachi to avoid the energy spears. I also used Hachi’s hover to deal more damage after killing one of the heads.
Just beat this boss myself. It was a really fun boss, though I was using Ultimate Zangetsu. I imagine it would have been... Significantly less so if I'd used vanilla...
