thanks for sharing, with your tutorial, i'm trying to take out the processor from DV5 1070ew (I suppose higher dv5 - Core 2 Duo 2530 MHz P9400, 6 MB Cache, 1066 MHz bus) and install it in DV5 1140ew (lower dv5, originally with Core 2 Duo 2000 T5800. 2 MB Cache, 800 MHz bus): the same motherboard, the same NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, the question is should I change any parameters in bios after replacing the CPU?
@@insidetech8404 and sir can I upgrade my laptop processor from AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-82 • 2.2 Ghz to any other faster processor Can you tell any other AMD processor that can be replaced with my existing one ?
Just use any SSD you want, they are all compatible with these HP computers, I never had any problem and I already bought over 10 SSDs already. Crucial MX500 is what I would recommend due to price - perfomance right now, just be sure to buy anything with more than +250gb of space, because lower size SSDs are much slower. If you got the money, you could go for Samsung 870 EVO, but I would prefer investing the money into more RAM than into a powerful sata SSD since these computers only have Sata 2 ports, which are slower than the sata 3 ports the SSDs were designed for.
@@insidetech8404 HP Pavilion DV5 - AMD Turion II Dual-Core Móvel P560 - do you think you can upgrade to quad core? Model - Phenom II Quad-Core Móvel P960
@Inside Tech sir can I upgrade my laptop processor from AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor ZM-82 • 2.2 Ghz to any other faster processor Can you tell any other AMD processor that can be replaced with my existing one ?
@Tanwar Reading the manual, you can place an AMD Turion TM Ultra Dual-Core 35W ZM-86 2.40-GHz with 2-MB L2 cache. Pretty sure you can, because there are other HP pavilion DV5 with the same mobo but with that superior processor. Just make sure you flash your bios to the best version before you do it (its revision F.21 on Intel processors, can't say if its the same for the AMD processors). I didn't check the price for that CPU but unless it is dirty cheap (somewhere between 10-30€) I would say not to bother at all, since performance gain is not that big.
You would need to check with HP assistance, but I am pretty sure that you could upgrade to an Intel Core2 Duo T9600 (2.8ghz) since they are pretty indentical. Your DV5 model is an older model but with a flashed bios it should work. And that is the best CPU you could ever buy for that old laptop, which is available at 10-30 bucks right now.
no becuz the core 2 duo laptop processors uses socket 478 and core i3 2330m uses socket 988. So you cant and there have lot of difference in mobo. I had same thing from core 2 duo system acer travelmate 4330- It has celeron 900 2,2ghz now my father's hp pavilion dv5. it has core 2 duo t6400 then I updgraded my celeron to core 2 duo becuz it uses same socket. And now i want install celeron 900 to dead hp and now i tested the dead pavilion and and starting from power switch, its not turn on. and I tried jump start (means shorting the power circuit for turn on) and the system is turn on and then goes turn off. and I dont know whats happening and then I tried a method that is turn on without RAM and dones with same thing (turns off) another method: turned on without processor (installed RAM and hdd) it holds about 10 mins another method: I turned on without RAM, Processor , HDD, it holds about 10 mins one day it turned on for some 5 or 6 mins. I noted some BIOS infos and settings and others and i tried to boot Ubuntu for test. Its boots from showing acessibility boot and then it shows only a cmd sursor. Then it doesnt boot and turns off shit happens again & again Hp pavilion dv5- My first laptop ever seen in my childhood. It has quicklaunchpad with tiuch enabled and chrome design.
