Enjoy seeing your old projects that you recently finished. I did a Precious Moments for my oldest daughter when she was born and now it hangs in your oldest daughter’s room. Glad you did some more new starts. Happy Stitching!
Like you and I, I bet there are lots of other people who have cross stitched for a while who have stitched at least one Precious Moments, right??! They were so incredibly popular. It’s so nice that the piece you stitched is still being appreciated with another generation. That’s wonderful! I hope you’re having a great stitchy week! 😀
Awwwww Nancy…you are so kind 😊! I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s hard for me to believe it’s taken me all these years to fully finish my cross stitch finishes. I get joy when I look at the stitched items displayed in my home. I hope you have a fun stitchy week!!
Cynthia, you are so right that it’s a great feeling when a border matches up! I’ve only had to deal with borders a few times now and I’ve always had to do some frogging on every one to get it right. It’s been kinda funny really! I hope you have a great stitchy week! 😀
It was good to see you again. I loved your finishes! The Laundry Room and the Crazy Cat Lady are my favorites. I'm a crazy cat lady. I have 4 cats. They're my children. Enjoy your visit with your family. Have a great time. Can't wait to see you again.
Yay, Jill! I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the finishes. Finishing those older pieces was a definite goal of mine since re-starting my cross stitch journey. I’m almost done so that’s exciting. Then it’s just a matter of keeping up with fully finishing things as they get completed. I hope you’re having a great stitchy week! 😀
All your finished pieces are beautiful, but the Cat Lady is epic!! I have to have her!!! I have 2 cats. 😊 that Dream mill hill is gorgeous too. Love the colors. Hugs to Mo Kitty 🐈
Hi there Elizabeth! I love your comment and totally agree with you 😀! I’ll let Moe Kitty know about your hugs…haha! He’ll love that! I hope you’re having a great stitchy week so far!
Hi Sharon - I believe your son's birth announcement was a Leisure Arts pattern, I remember seeing it in a leaflet I used to have! I stitched my mom so many Precious Moments Pictures and even an afghan that she had over the back of her couch with the squares you cross stitched and then fringed when done stitching. It was the pattern Prayer Changes Things, 6 strands of floss. I got it back after she passed and keep it over a chair in my craft room. Really enjoyed seeing your FFO's. Glad you got them finished after all these years! I am doing a HAED called War Pony who somewhat resembles my horse pictured in my thumbnail. It is kind of overwhelming to do such a huge full coverage piece, but I only stitch one project at a time, but to change it up I will throw in a few smalls along my way! I just finished the Teresa Kogut Create freebie on my teal colored mesh project bag and I used most of the colorway you did on yours! Great flosstube! Your Let Love Reign will be stunning! You may already know this but in case you don't The Silver Needle in Tulsa OK has an enormous offering of all things Mill Hill!
Hi Lori, it’s amazing that you remember seeing the birth announcement in a Leisure Arts leaflet! And I’m in awe of your ability to stitch your War Pony full coverage monogamously with only some smalls thrown in here or there. I used to be a monogamous stitcher but I do remember getting bored stitching on the same thing all the time. And congrats on getting the Teresa Kogut freebie finished. I bet it looks great on that teal mesh bag! Thanks for sharing info on the Silver Needle…I had no idea. I’ll have to check it out. I hope you have a great stitchy week 😀
Jane, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the videos. That makes it all worthwhile. I love this hobby that we share 😀. And I agree with you that Precious Moments are still adorable. It’s made me even think about buying a book or two to have them just in case I want to stitch one again! I hope you’re having a great stitchy week so far!
I used to work p/t at an LYS (Local Yarn Shop) that carried some cross-stitch supplies. It carried those Peter Undershill patterns -- "Man Cave" (which I bought and stitched for my neighbour, who is a handy kinda guy) and "Crazy Cat Lady". The owner closed her brick-and-mortar shop some years ago and took it online; she's now retired from that too. But she's a friend, and so I've asked her if she still has the CCL in her possession and would sell it to me (pattern only, as I recall). And...Precious Moments! I only ever stitched one of them -- the 'Graduation' piece -- but I stitched it twice -- for each of the two babysitters I put through high school (😉😆). Both are in their late fifties now (hard to imagine, but then again, my kids are 39 and 43!). Ah...those were the days!
Hi Margaret, for those of us who have a long stitching history one or both of those charts are probably very familiar (I think everyone is familiar with Precious Moments. My aunt used to collect the porcelain figurines!) Did you ever stitch the CCL? And on the graduation Precious Moments, I’m totally familiar with that chart. I’m sure both of your babysitters appreciated the gifts…how thoughtful! Have a great stitchy week!!
I started Home of a Needle worker yesterday and I enjoy seeing it framed on your craft room wall. I want to frame mine as well and put it on a wall in my craft room for continuous inspiration!
Hi there Kelly, Home of a Needleworker is one of my all-time favorite charts! Congrats on your new start. 😀 it’s an incredibly fun stitch and I bet you have it fully finished in no time. Happy stitching and thanks for watching my video!!
Just a tip about the yarn bowl- make sure that the wood in the swirl that you pull the yarn through is smooth, otherwise it will fray your yarn. I just used a fine sandpaper on mine to smooth the wood.
Hi there Joy! Thank you so much for leaving the comment. I did check and although the bowl was amazingly smooth the swirl definitely needed some sanding. I hope you’re having some great stitching time this week so far!
Hi Sharron. I loved seeing your "old" finishes. Boy, did they take me right back to the 80's/90's! The Let Love Reign is going to be beautiful when finished. I wish that I could keep my "huge" pieces to 2 at a time! My problem is that I gravitate towards large projects so I have more than I care to admit currently in progress:) To add another to the list, I'm getting ready to start Liberty's Welcome by Plum Street on Memorial Day to join in the Hollis Hand Creates SAL. This one is supposed to be finished by Labor Day, so maybe it will help me actually finish a large project instead of just starting them🙄🤣 Hope that you have a great week:) Happy Stitching!
Hi there Inez! I had to laugh at your comment about not being able to limit your huge projects to 2 at a time!! Since I’ve caught the new start bug, I may not be able to do that either!! 😊 Good luck on the SAL you’ll be starting on Memorial Day. I have never heard of that chart and did search for it to see it. It is absolutely gorgeous!!! And really right up my patriotic alley if you know what I mean. I’ve not seen anyone stitch it. I’ll have to take a look at Hollis Hands Creates’ FlossTubes to watch the progress in that and see it up close after the SAL starts. Have a great stitchy week!!
I have a box of "oldies but goodies" that I need to finish--thanks for the inspiration! I hope to frame them myself. Your framing looks so good. Love to see your HUGE pieces since I am a small/medium size stitcher.
Hi again Carroll! I’m glad to provide some inspiration! As you can see it has taken me 30+ years to frame one of those pieces and another one was almost 30! Some of the others were less. I hope you’ve had some fun stitching time lately! 😀
Enjoy your channel, one of the few that doesn’t constantly say uh, umm or clear throat or sniffle all through! Instead just pleasant and great project reviews
Hi there Anna! Thanks for the very kind comment. I’m glad you’re enjoying my channel. It’s been fun connecting with all of you about this hobby that we love so much. I hope you’ve had a great week and have a fun stitchy weekend 😀
So I’m doing Manning May I finished a Carolyn Manning one of the quilt series it’s called garden maze it’s beautiful and I started another one called bountiful blooms . I’m taking it up to my trailer so I can leave it there so on the weekends or anytime during the week that we run up there I don’t have to pack up I project, It’s already waiting for me. Love your walk down memory lane showing old stitches. If I had a floss tube, I would have to do the same since I’m pretty much do one piece at a time. But I have so many oldies, I’ve been stitching for so many years that I could fill up a couple of years worth of videos. Especially if I show needlepoint cruel embroidery that sort of thing . looking forward to seeing your next video.
Hi there Diana, it sounds like you’ve been having a wonderful May. I went and took a look at Garden Maze when you shared you were stitching on it and it is beautiful. Congrats on that finish! Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!
I enjoy your videos. I subscribed yesterday. May I know the name of sampler which is framed above the Home Of A Needleworker which is a current wip of mine. I love the one above it. I too after 15 years came back to cross stitch. But my favorite needlework is Needlepoint. I stitched a Precious Moments quilt over 30 yrs ago. I still have it. Wish I could show you the picture!
Nice to meet you Celine 😀. I’m so glad you decided to subscribe to my channel! The one directly above Home of a Needleworker is Anna Theis 1859 by Permin of Copenhagen. And the one to the right of Home of a Needleworker (in the gold frame) is Regina Haible by With Thy Needle and Thread. I hope these are the ones you were asking about. And you could definitely send me a pic of your finished piece to my email, it’s EveryDayStitcher@gmail.com. I usually include that in my description box but see that I totally forgot to include it in my latest video. I’ll have to fix that! I hope you have a great stitchy week! P.S. there’s a playlist of all my videos since i started last July if you would want to watch from the beginning…just an FYI. The playlist is brand new. I just created it because some viewers were wanting to ‘catch up’ watching part videos and I thought that might make it easier.
You are right! There is an incredible amount of backstitching in the Crazy Cat Lady design. When I stitched it, I thought every cross stitch design had backstitching! I was so surprised many years later in Spring, 2022 to discover cross stitch patterns with no backstitch at all! Happy stitching!!
Hi there Dodie! Actually I find there are many instances where the picture on the chart does accurately show how the stitched item with the called for floss will look. Let Love Reign is a good example of that (and the most recent!). If all pictures were not accurate, I would be making substitutions on everything I stitch!! Fortunately I haven’t had to do that…hooray! I hope you have a wonderful stitchy week 😀
Absolutely love’let love reign’ I brought it a few weeks ago but I think will have to wait before I start anymore, especially big projects 🤔😂 look forward to seeing your progress and hopefully won’t feel too jealous 😉😉
Hi there! I know what you mean. At least you have the Let Love Reign book so you won’t miss out on it which is good. It’s there when you decide to start it 😀 I hope you have a great stitchy week. P.S. if you do start it at some point, you’ll have to let me know!!
Really love the old charts, I am from that era & they are so nostalgic to me 🥰 Thanks for sharing 🙋♀️🇨🇦

Oh how I loved your walk down old finish lane ❤!! You have set yourself to have a great stitch menu! As always loved your show!!
Isn't it a wonderful feeling to get that border to match up? The sampler is beautiful! Happy stitching.
Cynthia, you are so right that it’s a great feeling when a border matches up! I’ve only had to deal with borders a few times now and I’ve always had to do some frogging on every one to get it right. It’s been kinda funny really! I hope you have a great stitchy week! 😀

I have the crazy cat lady kit never been started as there is far too much back stitching for me.
