I found when reading the rules regarding shooting, especially hazardous and one shot weapons, a really helpful way to think of it is that whenever a unit makes its ranged attacks its done "in a salvo" all attacks fire at the same time, regardless if the target(s) die on the first weapon hit, this also helps with the line of sight rules for attacking say an infantry unit that you can only just see, all your weapons go off in a salvo and even if the one infantryman poking his head out the side is the only visible model in the unit and dies immediately, the rest of the unit "still gets hit by the salvo" even if line of sight can no longer be drawn (please correct if im wrong there, im relatively new to WAHA)
The digital rules already have yesterday's updates incorporated into them and had the prior errata incorporated before that. The print and digital rules have been different for several months already. The annoying part is that they aren't updating datasheets/detachments to reflect the blanket changes to how certain types of abilities work.

@@Ulekius I'm not sure this is a good thing for the game. Some armies had modifier help and some can use "just reroll everything" kind of trick and still do a lot of damage. Indirect fire should be an asset, I would just like if it weren't spammable.
Indirect fire missing half the time is accurate, as it is a general area the targeted unit was last known to be in. There are only a few factions that have a targeting laser/unit that gives sight knowledge in 40k. Which means indirect fire is going to be innately inaccurate, more than the -1 to hit it had before.

The ability says "ignore the penalty to the hit roll", before the change it was clear that the -1 to the hit roll was a penalty (it modifies your dice roll), but now the dice roll isn't modifed, it just fails or succeeds, so is that a "penalty"?

Yeah, I miss 8th and 9th edition. My army is Imperial Fist successors and while I had difficult times in 9th, I had a lot of fun with unique dirty little tricks like shooting bolter weapons in close combat or use grenades with an entire unit. @@vaclavzunt6835 my iron hands were strong in 9th, but I leaned into a decent amount of melee to keep it fun. That 6 up feel no pain saved me a lot and made for some very interesting games.

Each time a unit Consolidates, you can move each model in that unit that is not already in base-to-base contact with an enemy model up to 3" - this is a Consolidation move."
I actually think it is consolidate typically when you and your opponent have something happen at once it is typically whose turn it is or action is taken first that takes priority

All guns are fired at the exact same time, but obviously we roll the weapon profiles one by one. So logically if you fired your missile and lasgun at the same time, the lasgun might not of gotten the killing blow but you still fired it regardless.
The idea is that you did fire them. You just don't have to roll dice because your other shots finished the job. Technically, the whole unit is firing at the same time.
You would only not fast dice when it came down to an important kill eg my warlords got one wound but I have three saves Proper game etiquette would say I roll them one at a time if I was thinking about command re-rolling because there's always the statistical chance that I failed two out of three and it's just nice for your opponent to not get cucked cause you rolled all and failed one to re roll into the pass
The rule for consolidate state you choose if a model will move or not, does that give you the option to just move those that can get on an objective and simply leave those that can get into combat stationary?
@@CaptainComatose but if you get to choose which models that move its suddenly a model by model basis. So simply move only those that can get onto the objective. (Stupid if thats how it works 🤣)

I asked because I was curious about slapping 6 eradicators and a gravis captain in a repulsor due to the new "transport 14" and using vanguard spearheads "calculated feint" to embark into the transport if they get charged.
Making command reroll a part of fast rolling is definitely a good change. It's heartening as well because it means gw actually thinks about the people playing the game, at least a bit.
Because more and more player just move 10" and say "Oh I can't see that unit, well let me pivot a bit and take a better view"🤷🏻♂️this rule is try to prevent these issue🤷🏻♂️
So earthshakers hit on 5 with a -1 to hit and ⁰_⁰ why do they feel the need to nerf them even more. I love earthshaker batterys I wish they were usable
So from my understanding if the earthshaker didn't move it gets a +1 to hit so it would be hitting on 4+. Also you can use the scout ability from the scout sentinel to remove the -1 from indirect fire on one specific unit in the enemies army. I'm not sure how expert bombediers would work with adding a one to your hit roll. So could you hit on a three while not having line of sight if you use the strategem expert bombediers?
From what I've gathered, they hit on a 5, then Indirect takes them to 6, but Heavy brings them back to 5. If you can see the target and stayed still, hits on a 4. I'm trying to figure it out myself because I'm trying to see how Biovores are gonna work now
I don't want to be one of those people who overreact to every new thing they hear, but is the change to indirect fire as bad for death guard as it seems? It seems pretty bad
The IG sub is full of artillery spam players bitching because Indirect got nerfed, so if DG is anything similar, probably bad. Though I say good. Artillery is fucking boring.

Wait I see you everywhere. Even in majorkill's comments lmao
You know a question that was answered for me was "Wait we can change stats besides points?!"
The rule for consolidate state you choose if a model will move or not, does that give you the option to just move those that can get on an objective and simply leave those that can get into combat stationary?
If you can get into Engagement Range of an enemy unit you have to consolidate towards them and not an objective marker.
@@CaptainComatose but if you get to choose which models that move its suddenly a model by model basis. So simply move only those that can get onto the objective. (Stupid if thats how it works 🤣)
@@taavdegbuksaSo if there is an enemy near you can choose not to move to them, but not to the objective.
Can't turn your back to someone that close I suppose.
Man the “need to qualify for both to gain the benefit” is a massive change
yea i kinda hate it. especially on units like the lokhust where the 2nd requirement is completely irrelevant to the first one
@@Tzar-TZ this change literally kills lokhust destroyers in my lists. The first is a minor benefit but the second is why you take the unit
Im not buying any other codex next time, will just use online tools
5 videos 1 day admech really got buffed you can tell
Our priesthood brother buff Auspex in a good way⚙️⚙️
I heard rumour you cannot charge after disembaking from a transport that just arrived from deepstrike. Is that true? I couldnt find the rule.
I want to drop 10 assault marines from a droppod T1 and charge 9"
Shame, I had missed the "no overwatch firing deck" rule.
There goes my 'Fire Wagon' with 20 Burna Boys in it. :D
lmao, I was just asking about embark rules yesterday and then Auspex comes out with the timely rules consolidation video.
I asked because I was curious about slapping 6 eradicators and a gravis captain in a repulsor due to the new "transport 14" and using vanguard spearheads "calculated feint" to embark into the transport if they get charged.
Melta rule is so dumb
The Psychic one actually has a lot of implications. We can get anti-psychic feel no pains against Brotherhood Librarians now, for instance.
Can sister of battle arco-flagellants use their Extremis Trigger Word ability when under the effects of fight on death?
I like the fact, that Mortarions Modifier rule is now complete useless. Thanks GW for balancing a rule, indirect fire, who were absolutely fine.
Indirect fire was "absolutely fine". 😂😂😂😂😂
All indirect fire unit: Dang it🥲
You took 3 PBCs im betting.
Making command reroll a part of fast rolling is definitely a good change. It's heartening as well because it means gw actually thinks about the people playing the game, at least a bit.
Long live can wall! In his name!
Pivoting thing is unnecessary, dunno why you can't move 4, pivot, move 6 if your movement is 10. Now it's what, move 4, pivot, move 4?
Given that facing isn't a thing, just never pivot unless you absolutely have to.
Because movement costs movement
Because more and more player just move 10" and say "Oh I can't see that unit, well let me pivot a bit and take a better view"🤷🏻♂️this rule is try to prevent these issue🤷🏻♂️
Thank You
So earthshakers hit on 5 with a -1 to hit and ⁰_⁰ why do they feel the need to nerf them even more.
So could you hit on a three while not having line of sight if you use the strategem expert bombediers?
because other players cry and moan that a 2 damage gun with random shots and no AP a lot of the time, is somehow game breaking and completely unfair
From what I've gathered, they hit on a 5, then Indirect takes them to 6, but Heavy brings them back to 5. If you can see the target and stayed still, hits on a 4. I'm trying to figure it out myself because I'm trying to see how Biovores are gonna work now
Because artillery is fucking boring. Laziest way to play this game
@@CMTechnica sadly, when your units are neither fast nor tough, hiding under a rock and spamming whatever strat is available to you becomes your only route to victory while nurglings scramble around trying to score.
Is PBG spam good for Death Guard? I don't think a lot of the DG players I know particularly like it.
@@Dementia55372 good or not, we have to be effective at something. We're too slow to apply pressure and too soft to withstand multiple shooting phases as we drip across the battlefield. Not to mention Morty and LOV are all mechanically oriented to take advantage of that one strong ability. Without PBCs, I don't even know what we run other than plague marines in tanks and DST in landraiders. Which once again is just a different spam.
It is pretty bad for many units and many synergies. GW is fixing indirect fire spam with ruining the mechanic instead of making spamming more difficult. It was aimed on the Imperial Guard but it hits many armies where this problem did not exist.
