Brilliant! It's great to see those remaining wagons receiving the restoration treatment. I spent quite a bit of time checking out the wagon outside locomotion before the rain got too heavy. I look forward to seeing progress on the restoration. Cheers
Hi David. There is not a huge amount of difference between the old and new, but there are differences if you understand my meaning. As I said in the episode the prices between the two now are minimal unless you are very lucky like I had been in the past. By the time I have this lot weathered etc I think they will really look the part. I remember purchasing a Hornby class 58 brand new in coal sector livery in my teens. I loved it but it didn't see a huge amount of use as back then the layout I had only had first radius curves and it would cause it issues. Sadly I sold that model many many years ago and I regretted it deeply hence why I purchased the examples I have now. I think it would be nice if Hornby re-released the class 58 in their railroad plus range with enhanced livery. Cheers David
Hi Aidan, I know it's a while since you made this video, but if you ir anyone you know is still in the market for HAAs, Kernow is selling them for under £15 each, which is cheaper than anyone else is selling the sets of 3 (best price is around £50). Cheers.
Hi mate Hope you are well? Not my cup of tea too modern. But they was use in Burton-upon-Trent and drakelow power station. Love editing and history. Thank you for sharing your models with us sorry I can't add much. Keep safe ARP
Hi mate, I know you like your locos and stock a bit older haha. Now you know one of the reasons I was at Locomotion now. We have some nice older models coming up soon. Cheers mate
Hi Fred. I recently had the opportunity to examine some of the Accurascale examples. It is is something I have thought about. I may be tempted but having already ordered an additional two triple packs for this train it may have to wait. With the additional packs it now brings the length of the train to 21 and now looks a lot more pleasing to watch. Although the real trains were much longer it does bring a lot of logistical issues running with space. Maybe, just maybe each Class 58 will eventually receive their own individual rake of wagons, one rake empty and one full might look good. Cheers Fred
Hi Guy. At the time the Hornby ones were available however I may also purchase some Accurascale packs possibly as a comparison and if I am suitably impressed a possible second rake could be on the cards. Cheers 👍
0:13 that wagon behind you 368459 I’m part of the team restoring that. The playlist of the restoration is on my channel

Great video Aidan, they are nice wagons and definitely a wagon I would like to get more of for my old hornby class 58.

Good short video. Thanks for sharing. Have you thought about getting some Accurascale and/or forthcoming Cavalex HAAs to mix in with the Hornby ones?

Why didn't you buy the Accurascale HAA hoppers??
