I've been considering it. I'm really worried I'll be bored there and just wish I'd moved to Seattle/Tacoma. I've visited Olympia a few times and it's a cute little town but I'm really worried about the amount of things to do. Downtown is tiny.
@@mj-np9sy Downtown is fairly small to that of big cities, but that can be part of the appeal. One thing I really like about Olympia, is that we are in the perfect location to visit anything you might be interested in. Rainforest, mountains, ocean, etc.
Lots of crazies😜 but great dining and beer there =] don’t get me started on the beautiful boardwalk with the boats during Lake fair and the farmers market chocolate brownies.
Raymond chandler , the famous author, wrote a novel based in Olympia Washington. He was known for popularizing the fusion of crime noir with tales of private detectives.
Both Washington and Oregon are off the map far left. There are sensible folks in the eastern part of both states but becaue of population excesses on the west side their votes are meaningless. Only move there if you buy into the climate hoax and wish the government to have power over you. The govenors of all three west coast states are far left loons and the Washington govenor is deffinitely not MENSA material.
I was born in Olympia in 1954, left for L.A. in 1981, visited my parents and friends a few times in the 1980s and '90s and the place seemed to be going downhill, homeless people and shabby buildings-- but I visited recently and it seems to have come back to life, as if a new generation has taken over. Now that my career is over I may move back. My house in Burbank has gone up in price so much I could sell it, buy something in Olympia or Lacey and retire a wealthy man.
This is my home, where I was born.. but raised in Aberdeen Washington, moved back when I turned 18 and just moved away again at 24... I’ll be back someday again
It does not look not too nice for being as capital of a state needs some improvement but it is nice i have noticed some green particles on the sidewalks what would it be
@Seatown Fan Thank your Washington State Landlord. The unemployment insurance system in Washington state temporarily benefits workers who lose their job through no fault of their own or quit work for a good cause. Benefits are funded by premiums collected from employers. All the employers who employed a claimant during the base year are charged in proportion to the hours worked for each employer. The State collects the money and allocates it. The State of Washington passes a moratorium on rent collection. The landlords in Washington do not collect or allocate any unemployment funds from businesses. The Washington State LANDLORDS pay their tenants'(unemployed claimant) rent for almost a year(so far) as a loan with zero interest in 2020. Washington State still collects unemployment benefits from employers. But they are not paying rent regarding the people they collected the intended money. Why are our landlords paying for our State's responsibilities when the State has collected the funds but refuses to allocate it to the unemployed claimant. Why is the State acting like the landlords are the terrible apples? Maybe the State should look in a mirror? Thank your landlord for doing their job and the job of the State of Washington without the funds or resources. And ask Washington State where the money is? Thank you, landlords.
Wow that must have been a great day. I was homeless downtown/west side Olympia and there are literally so many homeless littered in the middle of the side walks

If the Olympia City Council is smart, they will replace all those ugly parking lots with attractive condominiums and shops. Walking by endless parking lots is neither interesting nor enjoyable. I am watching from Middelburg in the Netherlands.
Misspelled “Capital Way”… `Capitol’ with an `o’, not an `a’ - My apartment is on Capitol Way N, 1 block from Farmers’ Market - Great eclectic neighborhood; walking distance of Percival Landing and numerous excellent restaurants and, of course, downtown (off the beaten path, with none of the downtown traffic; which is minimal) - Awesome little `big city’;or, big `little city’ 😉
Moved from california and bought 4 homes. Funny I rent to all Californians. I guess we're all moving here. Old renters had to move to small town wa for cheaper prices.
The funny thing is I first heard that song as a teenager out near Boston Moved out to Olympia in my early twenties. because of a personal issue. I had been in Olympia over 10 years and my new friend had spent most of his life in New York . Was real familiar with all of the places mentioned in the song . I went through the entire lyrics with him and he just trashed the entire thing and I realized man what are they talking about I don't even know. Rancids like that drunk uncle whose stories are great but make no sense.
I’m seriously considering moving here in the next few months. Anyone from here? Do you like it? Pros/cons? Thanks!

Same here but jobs pay better here and rains more often ... Washington if you haven't already moved

Seems to be a very beautiful and quiet city
Yeah it doesn’t quite have a big city feel to it
@@4KNatureandCityWalksThe population is only around 50,000.
It would've been interesting to shoot one a year later and edit them side-by-side.. possibly later a year from now even!
Couldn't wait 200 days for a sunny day?
Lol
I LIVE IN OLYMPIA
Ghost town just like Downtown Seattle

Good luck with all the drug addicts and homeless nutcases.

Yes, get baked and walk around aimlessly filming.
Starbucks closed for good.
Seems to be a boring city of nothing to do.😊
Just before the mask zombies descended on the town.
Lol they won't let you post the truth . It's nasty do not move here
