- Years after he was convicted in the murder of basketball star Lorenzen Wright, Billy Ray Turner is maintaining his innocence and hoping for an appeal. Plus, updates on Lorenzen's mother and his ex-wife Sherra.

I've always had MAD respect for Lorenzen's Mom. When she gave her Victim Impact statement to her former daughter-in-law, Sherra-- Wow. She showed unbelievable class and dignity.

Sherra Wright is unbelievably evil. She took her children's father from them for her own selfish, greedy, jealous reasons and her actions added further insult to injury by fracturing the relationship between her children and their grandmother. Her children were loyal to her and believed she was innocent, so their grandmother lost them for several years, too. How she could see her children crying and grieving knowing she intentionally caused their pain and then write a "fiction" book about it-basically flaunting it, is pure evil. Smh.

Say it again for the people in the back. I heard her say at the parole hearing that she had become accustomed to a certain lifestyle and then made up all of that BS story about drug debts. It's sad that our kids have to testify on her behalf as most children would but I'm praying that they know the truth are not dumb and they can read, They 💕. The 911 operator heard a barrage of gunshots, a man's voice in distress, and failed to report it immediately. Of course, it wouldn't have saved his life, but so much evidence was lost. She should have been fired!! Sherra should have gotten the same sentence, if not more, being the mastermind. Hopefully, she will never be paroled!!

45 minutes for this special series and I didn't see or hear anything from Billy Ray that led me to believe he wasn't involved, and that he knew what was being planned, and helped to cover it up. It seems clear to me that he was lured by Shera's 🐈....she took advantage of naive man, and he fell for it hook, line, and sinker....sad for Lorenz ends mother and the children
She deserves to rot in prison for the entire duration of her sentence for masterminding and participating in the murder of her ex-husband. All three of them should be in jail for life. She was the only one who stood to gain from his death and didn't even think about her kids or the damage she was causing to them. SMDH

I have , and they don't want to do the work and if they find a scapegoat, they would take it. I pray hopefully when this man goes back to trial the truth will come out that her cousin and his friends did it. Billy was just to close around her they had planned to pin this on him in the beginning all those hundreds of calls they not going to tell us those calls were no longer than 2 or 3 minutes. You heard the prosecutor say they had evidence pointing to someone else yet, he didn't pursue this because it was before he got on the case. Also those guns did not lead to Billy. The mom is hurt and is going by what the police told her.😮😢

Phone records cleared him and showed billy Sherra and Lorenzen at the crime scene. Billy is getting banged out in prison and wants out , simple as that. He’s exactly where he belongs.

Jimmy was there too and probably was the main one who did the killing. He was a certified killer. He simply left his phone at home like any good criminl would do. He described the scene down to a T. His phone later died and he used a pay phone in Mississippi to call him again which was all proven in court. Jimmy flipped on Sherra because she stopped answering his calls and didn’t pay for his lawyer fees as promised. He didn’t do the killing but was definitely in on it

The ridiculous story that she made up for the parole thinking that they would not know the original fax until Lorenzo's mother spoke. Lorenzo was 300 pounds easy 6 ft 6 or 7 after being left out in the Memphis for just a little while I believe that man was 40-75 lbs.

Billy's attorney's saying they're not sure what his role was in the murder because it was never identified is problematic for me. How do you represent your client accused of murder not knowing if he's technically the shooter or not? How can you defend your client properly? Whole case sounds like a sh!+ show right there alone. I'm not saying he's innocent because he definitely had some knowledge of the crime but the degree of involvement is just impossible to say he was the shooter. I really believe it was Jimmy and that's why he received immunity. But Billy is a whole fool to sit through a trial and not speak up for himself knowing he didn't do something and that he wasn't receiving due diligence.

As I listen to this story I am disgusted by the fact that the culprit, the Domino's effect began with the wife wanting her husband murdered and her dumb ass is going to be out before the guy that she hired to kill her husband! How is that even possible!?

How did it take 9 days to find him if he called 911? I realize it was 2010 but they couldn't figure out even a general area? Even not knowing it was him, they should have been trying to find out what the gunshots were.

I know first hand, how prosecutors go after whoever to get a high profile conviction& when you're the suspect, speaking up isn't as easy as it seems. Everything goes through your lawyer! Trust me, this is exactly how it happened. Never understood how a parent could kill their kids other parent, no matter the situation!!!

The woman came up to the parole board and it can b seen on RUclips... She tried to talk that parole board into letting her out because of her children and grandchildren and then she's a changed person she even had people there trying to be her support system but the judge said no
