- Today, we go over an intense 1v1 match from last weeks stream and analyze the plays, both the positives and negatives. This is why you never give up in Rocket League!
In this video, we hop on the good old 1v1 solo duels playlist and find ourselves in a pretty interesting story line. Get ready to witness some textbook plays both from my opponent and myself. But sure enough, there are plenty of misplays and fails as well, which I explain during the video. Coming from the RLRS / RLCS qualifiers and the Freestyle video back to doing some 1v1s was really refreshing. Is scoring ceiling shots, 180, 360 flicks and similar shots even possible here? Well, if we royally fail this session, there is always place to start randomizing cars and playing with the likes of Gizmo, Scarab and Merc. Imagine if in RLCS, teams could pick the other teams cars, that would be both hilarious and fun. Just think about it, Pro Players like Squishy, Lethamyr, JZR, Scrubkilla etc. doing this challenge.
Next video will again focus dribbles, fakes and more as well as the beloved fails and funny moments. I tried to shift my focus on ball resets, no flips, triple plays and more of freestyling in general, so if I can, I will be releasing a Funny Moments video next.

THIS. I hate how many people in 1’s are just completely reliant on their one-off kickoffs. They get it 2-3 times and it’s hard to come back, even if you’re better than them.

Never give up, never surrender! Love these combacks, sometimes you just don't feel like playing a losing game and forfeit, I do it. But a handful of goals could always be scored in a short amount of time. Anything is possible. The worst is when you're in a two's or three's and you're the only one holding out on the vote because you know a comeback is possible.
Thank you Mertzy for posting the replay of your game, and not just the VOD of your stream. Wish more streamers who post RUclips content would do this, the quality is way higher this way. Thanks again bossman.

The problem with this is that the vast majority of the player base simply does not have the skill to comeback from most games where they are severely behind. Even if they manage to stop the bleeding, most people will simply manage to go even from then on. The issue I have is that Mertzy is a very skilled player. He knows exactly when and how to punish opponent’s mistakes. I reckon a majority of the player base is still at the level (Gold and below) where missing open nets is quite likely. I find it’s actually much better to just forfeit and try again in a different matchup instead of wasting my time in a match I’m very likely to lose anyways. The time spent trying (and often failing) to make the comeback can be better spent playing a more productive match with a different opponent.

This remembers me of a really toxic 1v1
i got scored 3 goals, and each goal the dude what a save!'d me.
so i was 3 goals down, and i managed to win by 4-3 in the overtime, ofcourse what a save'ing him, he just left xD
Very recently I won a 1v1 game 11-9. If people can score 20 goals in a 1v1 you actually have a pretty good chance to win even if the opponents are in a lead with like 5-6 goals. That's pretty insane.
