Goliath from Evolve was inspired by Dehaka. New Dehaka is inspired by Goliath (leap and firebreath abilities). I,m glad to see that evolution is popular in modern games.

You know, about 2 weeks ago i was thinking. "We kinda miss a primal Zerg Commander, why not Dehaka"
Yesterday i saw that they gonna announce a new allied commander "Nah its not gonna be Dehaka. Would be to awsome"
And now this. Im happy
It was speculated a while ago that the next commander would definitely be Dehaka. Dehaka's units are in the SC2 Editor, as well as all the unused Primal Zerg assets, mostly from HotS. A Primal Zerg tab was recently added to the Editor. An Impaler icon was recently added as a hotkey in the Editor. There are Primal Zerg easter eggs in some co-op missions, notably Scythe of Amon. Also, all the hints released the past week on the Starcraft Twitter/Facebook page relating to essence and organic-looking abilities.
Really? Didnt know that. Was really only some random thoughts and gut feeling on my side. But jea Blizzard was always strong with this hidden teasing of new content.

Apparently, fixing his broken jaw and replacing his lost limb are not part of Dehaka´s healing powers.

Why does Dehaka have 2 different looks? Like the one from Heart of the Swarm and the one in Heroes of the Storm have different .. "teeth?"
It's more than just the teeth. The Storm version was wider (looked fatter) and has different eyes than the Starcraft version, as well as less glowy bits.
The "background" behind Heroes of the Storm's Dehaka is that Dehaka continued absorbing essence and evolving after the events of Heart of the Swarm and eventually ended up in his current appearance. Co-op Commanders seems to have rode on what Heroes of the Storm have done with Dehaka.
He follows, he absorbs, but most importantly - he evolves.
It is almost like SC2 is the lore and real version and Heroes isn't. Wait a second, that is exactly right. I can't think of any WC character that looks the same in their RTS/MMO form than they do in Heroes. Sonya is much, much different.

This looks like a fun Commander, with a "new Race" just like stukuv, but has more primal abilities, and it's changing the gameplay which looks so fun, keep it up. more like these!

DerkY here's a suggestion, set up an RNG for 1-13, then pick the commander which matches the number you got, 1 is Jimmy, 13 is Dehaka, 12 is Fenix.

Godzilla is coming to SC2!!! So pumped.
So they have 5 protoss commanders, 5 zerg (yes, stukov follows kerrigan and is a HOTS character), and 3 terran. I think they're capping it at 5 each with Valerian and Mira last since that'll exhaust all unit types/comps.
Valerian will cover all remaining diminion units (Loki/odin, warhounds, predators, TRUE diamondbacks, etc.)
Mira will cover all merc types left (reapers, specres, Hercs, widow mines, etc.)
I would say Tosh over Mira but Blizzard has a thing about gender equality with their games and will easily favor Mira

But Tosh is also a minority :(
I can see them doing Tosh (Spectres, Reapers, Widow Mines, HERCs) and Mira (Probably gonna be a more limited variant of Nova), then maybe Valerian (Strong units like Warhound, Diamondback, Predator, Odin, Loki or maybe simply a fleet-based Commander). I could see them doing Matt Horner, as well, where's the Fleet Commander and Hall becomes The Hyperion's captain. But they're probably gonna cap it at 5, unless they add Selendis, Urun or Zeratul, and Niadra. Then, they could cap it at 6 Commanders for each race.

In the fenix reveal stream, nathanel said that they wont be doing Matt. but Mira or Valerian can be a gud idea.
Mira/Matt Duo commander and Tosh. Mira/Matt can cover dominon/mercs and Tosh covers everything else :D plz and ty.
When Dehaka uses his Scorching Breath ability, the fire swipes on its own, he doesn't turn his head from his left to his right to lead his Scorching Breath.
Dehaka upgraded to Kirby Doomsday Godzilla.
I must take a moment to collect essence about this.
A good combo on some coop maps is Karax and Dehaka, one is an immovable object the other is an unstoppable force and if u keep up the momentum Dehaka becomes a steamroller
Finally Dehaka's right arm can be reborn.

Considering how long it's been, and how much Zerg are about growth, regeneration, and evolution, you'd think he'd have regrown that arm by now...
Leap animation looks very very slow as if he is hovering in the air. He is big and heavy, In my opinion the leap animation should be faster and have an immediate impact, this impact now is kind of lagging appearing a bit later than the animation suggests. Just wanted to point this out.
Anyone else getting some Godzilla vibes seeing him tear up those buildings?
You guys can make SC2 a powerhouse if you keep pumping out new commanders.

Co-op is starting to look even better than the professional play lately!
Giant beast, intimidating roar, and breathes fire. To add to the mix most of his final form was in Terran cities. Didn't even try to steer away from the Godzilla feel did ya Blizzard?? Lol

I can't put my finger on it. I can't tell whether they gave him a new model with the same rig/animations as HoTS Dehaka, or if its the exact same HotS model but with a different texture. Strange that they used his HotS model in the trailer a few times though. The gameplay is definitely not 1:1 with the hots model.
He is a river. He flow. He collects essence. He evolve. Essence is suvival. Move is to live. Stay leads to death.
Don't know if the animation is just to show or has to be that way. So, if any Blizzard personnel actually read the comments, here are a few suggestions:
- Leap: we've seen Kerrigan and Alarak do those types of attack, so why not have Dahaka either crawl quickly on all four like a lizard and ram into the enemies, while swiping his claws on the move - or give him a zero-range AoE attack that activates immediately when you press the hotkey, like the Tauren Chieftain's Stomp from Warcraft 3?
- If you insist on jumping and slamdunking for whatever reason, extend his jumping leg, have his arms reach out, quicken up the animation, add a badass sound effect (BOOM!), so we can feel the force and ferocity of a Primal Zerg in action. Seriously, sound design has been a major drawback in SC2 gameplay and nobody's talking about it.
- Scorching Breath: what is Dahaka? A Godzilla-like Zerg or a freaking protoss Colossus? Move his neck! Or have him breathe a conic blast (Geralt's Igni) instead!

I'm getting a massive Goliath from Evolve feel from Dehaka, anybody else feel that?
I love Dehaka but this trailer doesn't seem too great. The preview shows the Heroes of the Storm model and the Heart of the Swarm model interchangeable, his model in game looks just slightly off, his animations seem really janky and unresponsive.
Gameplay-wise, I like it but I feel like the visuals in game shouldve been polished a bit more before the trailer was released.
The trailer must've been older than the actual release of the commander, just watched a video of gameplay by Lowko and the animations seem fine, the trailer animations are however, yes, odd

Q= Dash, better than his passive in HOTS

E= Instant kill and gain buff, similar his Q in HOTS, but not sure if he can pull allies
-Bio= Heal himself, similar his E in HOTS, but not sure if he can heal allies
-Air= Range
-Psionic= Cooldown
-Mech= ???
R= Area damage
Clone= Can Dehaka spawn clones like HOTS?
Pack Leaders:
Glevig= Damage in line
Dakrun= Dash
Murvar= Surround damage
Zurvan= ??? (Guess it is damage in cone)

No, dehaka did NOT just kill a zealot in one hit.
That's too good to be true.
Yet didn't hear anything about his base. I imagined it as a giant primal zerg like the one that we fed with essence or whatever in one of the hots campaign missions. And he would use his tentacles to drain gas automatically since we don't have auto-draining gas zerg yet. Please let Dehaka have auto-gas.
Don't forget, He was Minor, But still He was the one of Origin Zerg leaders.

So. two Primal Zerg will attack each other and the winner becomes a more powerful unit. That almost sounds like the Templar's merge mechanic.
