I have all the symptoms of Cushing disease but not high blood pressure. This is the main reason my doctor is not requesting the blood work. She said it a waste of Government money to do unnecessary test although I have the fatigue, pain, thyroid disease, unexplained weight gain, the moon face, the big fat belly, the wide darkish red stretch marks, depression, anxiety, insomnia, massive tiredness. I don't get out of my bed for days and weeks at a time. I guess it's time to see a different doctor.

Mariam Lubana yes definitely see a second opinion, it is a rare desease/syndrome. Don't let the days go by without seeking information and different doctor. apparently you current doctor is not doing a good job, try to see an endocrinologist.

Mariam Lubana yes see a dif doctor, that doctor sounds horrible, not everyone has the same symptoms anyway. Some people see 5-10 doctors before diagnosis, don't give up! I hope you get better soon!

Lindsey LaVida Thank you dear, I went to emergency two months ago for swelling in my feet and did a series of blood work. My blood test shows I don't have thyroid disease when I have been taking Synthroid for 30 years. Its been two months since I am off it. My body is adjusting well. Not so tired and sleeping much better. The emerge doctor called her to find out how I can be on that medication for so long and not have thyroid disease. She claims I have bipolar and all my symptoms are in my head and imaginary.
I am seeing another doctor now I went off all my depression medication and doing all the right test. I am not bipolar either. My system was shutting down from all the medication I was taking. My new doctor told me it will take some time for my body to adjust it self so in six months we will see what symptoms shows up.
      Thanks for the great advice.

"cured"? only if tumor cells removed 100% for sure but there is no 100% sureness due to possibility of leaving tiny cells (that will grow eventually) that were missed by the instruments/surgeon at the time of surgery. And even if the tumor was taken out totally, the patient's quality of life after a successful surgery (meaning tumor removed) is not same as prior to cushing's. onr has residual symptoms of depression, fatigue, muscle aches and weakness that one has to deal with.
so I don't think "cured" is an effective or fair way to describe if had surgery.
My surgery was done at the Mayo clinic by the Chair Neurosurgeon of their Pituitary department but it has never been described to me as "cured" and he explained post the possibility of reoccurrence.
