Well said!!! Some great technical wrestlers were NEVER CLOSE to being a main eventer in a major national wrestling promotion! I'm talking from 1984 (when Vince really started getting the national expanision rolling) until today. It' about being convincing in the ring (no matter your in ring style) and having ENOUGH IT FACTOR to be a main eventer. Brock is a 300 pound ass kicking machine who has MAJOR IT FACTOR! BUT the smart ones KNOW nothing beats kicking ass with the great power moves and brawling. Because it gives off the sense of brutality u can REALLY RAMP UP in a sports entertainment presentation! Young Lesnar showed he could be an elite technician and a big guy who could fly back in the day. BUT his calling card was his power and brawling. He just knew how to mix in other elements. At this stage, he scaled back his moveset. BECAUSE he's so over he can scale back his moveset. And at 42 years old (still young in general, but getting somewhat up there in wrestling) he's looking at longevity. Brock could still do this shit for 8-10 years if he chose too! Because his body isn't as beat up as other guys his age or older!
@@bizil100 On the point about his longevity, I would add in that his injuries from his time in the UFC could haunt him in a heartbeat... that's likely a reason he's scaled back, because his body was already a bit fragile from the injuries he endured with his MMA career.
The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, these 5 are the best imo, Add Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Hulk Hogan, and Benoit too round out the 10 again imo
@Randy Hilgeman you just proved my point. We aint talking about promo skills and Hollywood mumbo jumbo. We're talking about real physical talent and as a Dewayne fan, im here to tell you brah he aint got it.
Brock Lenser is one of if not the best in ring performer I’ve ever seen, strength, speed, agility, interaction, pace, just overall a great performer People forget Brock is a two time champ wrestling at the collegiate level. Youngest WWE champion at the time 6ft 3” 300 lbs who can perform a shooting star press. Brock is a LEGEND
You should take off the n't at the end of does, because what you're saying with it there is that Brock Lesnar is *NOT* special, which I believe contradicts your opinion.
The fact that Brock has yet to injure someone or himself while being an actual natural born monster is astounding. The self control he has is in a league of his own
Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle? Wrestlers that had more than 5 or 6 moves. Entertaining and Energetic. Current Roster can't really do anything, thanks to Vince. Vince booking bad matches or booking matches that everyone has been seeing for the past 6 months to a year.
@@clownkiller1235 they used to say the same about haku (that's he's fat) and then he would beat everyone up straight up shoot no scripted b.s. Samoa Joe carries himself like a badass and practices MMA. He's believable on the mic and in the ring.
Brock Lesnar is like a Dragon Boss in an RPG. You work your way up to this boss fight and he crushes you in no time. You never see him until its time to fight him, but the whole time he's looming in the shadows waiting for you to step into his arena.

I don’t like Brock personally but he’s the reincarnation of the devil. He’s the most dominant wrestler therefore best ever. Nobody and I mean nobody could beat or even come close to it. In ring he’s the most entertaining and dominant. Storyline wise as well. It’s Brock. No one comes close. He’s the Jordan of WWE. He should’ve been world champ ever since 2003. A 20 year reign in my opinion.
Thats not true at all. Heyman is extremely overrated in recent years by internet nerds. He did nothing for Heidenreich, Curtis Axel, Cesaro and countless others. Heyman is a solid writer and promoter but he clinged to Brock Lesnar because it was obvious a guy who looks like Lesnar is going to be a star.
@@draganlojanicich2604 Heyman did as much for Brock as he did for Cesaro. The failure of Cesaro is not on Heyman nor is the success of Brock on Heyman. A guy who looks like Brock with the athletic ability of Brock would be a star in any wrestling promotion in any decade. As for Brock being a Russian I think you are confusing the idea with Brock as a gay wrestler. Most sources are highly unreliable but most insiders believe most of the so-called "bad gimmicks" being pitched for Brock were Triple H's via Steph to try to prevent Brock taking his spot. However no internet story is 100% reliable and Brock as a Russian with it being Vince's idea there is almost nothing to suggest such nonsense.
Brock gets a lot of hate but if you really pay attention, Brock is actually a genius! And he puts people over AND I think Brock is way underrated as a seller. The dude can really sell moves and actually has great in ring psychology. When MacIntyre eliminated Brock, look at how loud the crowd erupted. That very moment right there, set the tone for the rest of the night and made that Royal Rumble match one of the best ones in recent years. With that moment of Brock getting eliminated, I don't think the night would have been as special for MacIntyre. So yeah, I can't disagree with Cena on this.
Personally, I wouldn’t call Brock Lesnar “the best in-ring performer of all time” I’ll admit for his weight and height, Brock lesnar has the greatest agility I’ve ever seen. His ability to move so quickly and easily is phenomenal, even his 1v1 performances are amazing, but for John Cena to call him “the best in-ring performer of all time” is an undermined statement towards those who invest their time to put on a show to get over with the fans, considering Brock Lensar is now a part-timer. Maybe back then when Brock lesnar’s schedule wasn’t so time consuming, I’d call him one of the most gifted athletes of all time. Not many superstars can perform as great as Brock Lensar
In my personal opinion Chris Benoit was the greatest worker/wrestler of all time. His promos sucked but his in ring ability was second to none. He carried himself with such tenacity looked tough as nails made it look real sold everything to perfection had large variety of moves and submissions. And like Brock Lesnar was a truly believable athlete. Just a tragic shame he went out like a peice of shit.
The guy had CTE and the brain of an 84 year old Alzheimer’s patient. I find it hard to believe he was completely in control of his own actions but obviously I don’t know
Putting aside his later actions, I’m not sure if his mind was just twisted or something when he did it. I’ll never understand it because with so many things going for him and how great his legacy would’ve been, I could never understand why he’d do something that would destroy all that. If he was really the man people thought he was before he did it, he would’ve been disgusted if he knew what he did. It should never be forgiven or excused. Anyway, we can’t deny he was one of the best and a lot more people would’ve seen him as the best if he didn’t turn out the way he did. He was like a mix of Angle and Lesnar but has been around in the business for much longer. He was just as technical if not more technical than Angle with some high fly moves but had the intensity, if not more intense than Lesnar. He was pretty believable in the ring too. Sure, he too steroids but he actually looked like he could kick anyone’s ass. Angle, an Olympic gold medalist in amateur wrestling, has even said that Benoit was one of the wrestlers who would’ve been great if he had pursued amateur wrestling. Angle, Jericho, and Eddie have said that they learned a lot from Benoit. That probably explains why Angle and Benoit were like a mirror of each other. Lesnar probably got some moves from Angle, who learned it from Benoit. Benoit was the one who popularized the multiple German suplexes that Lesnar today is famous for. It wouldn’t be an honest discussion without mentioning Benoit for all time best performers, for sure.
I think that Shawn Michaels is the best in ring performer of all time. Cena is one of the greatest Wrestlers of all time and Brock lesnar is really one of the most big time performers
@@Saviiq no I think that's Shawn Michaels is one of the best entering performers of all time. Although I do agree Brock Lesnar is box office and brings in a lot of money. I'm talking about someone who is a Hall of Famer in the ring you have to bring up Shawn Michaels. And John Cena as well but not really for his wrestling who was more about his connection with the WWE universe that for me makes him one of the greatest of all time
@Meta Man I read your entire post and I read with a lot of what you said but I still stand that Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest in ring performers of all time and many people would agree with me. John Cena's one of the greatest wrestlers of all time not because of what he did in the rain but what he did outside the ring with the WWE universe. He took WWE to a whole another level.
There's a huge divide between the more experienced guys who are still around (Lesnar, Orton, Cena, Show, Mysterio) and the others. You could say the newcomers still haven't had time to reach that level, but back in early 2000's when these ones came around, they were already more believable than the new ones today.
Hbk was a great in ring performer, I can't say he was the best. I think Bret was better in the sense that whoever was in the ring with Bret, win or lose, got put over. Like Jim Cornet once said, "Hbk could shine and have a great match with a broomstick, Bret can give the broomstick credibility and make the broomstick look good.".
Definitely the most believable character in the WWE! What you said Booker T is 100% correct it's about how you make the audience react to you! I also believe it's being able to reinvent yourself and come up with something fresh. We sometimes take for granted how incredible all of these athletes are. From the biggest and strongest, to the smallest. It takes a village from the ones who right the storyline. To the cameraman, the referee, everything has to fall in place just right or it won't go like its supposed to. It's not an easy job working for the WWE as a performer. Its about being able to find your fitting in such a competitive industry and paying your dues and giving back. Sharing your knowledge with the next generation of breakout stars and trying to be original.
if we are talking best... Brock is the best (believability is the most important thing) if we are talking best in ring (then it will be someone under 160 pounds) (or maybe a technical wizard)..
tdove123 bro, the rock is one of the greatest of all time. Period. When it comes to promos, performance and selling. Dude is the total package. How dare you downplay the rock like that. Smh.
tdove123 he’s considered one of the best. He’s the total package. He has it all not just ring performance. Brock is just like the wwe. Great ring performance but garbage promos, gimmicks and everything else.
If anyone is ranking Lesnar in an “all time” category, it’s in a unfamiliar section that most of us general fans aren’t in tune with. Maybe the guys in the depth of the business see it differently, but “in ring” guys are the true technicians and are crisp in their movements. Steamboat, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko & Kurt Angle are all some of the best in recent memory. Okada is one of THE greatest in today’s world.
The thing is, Lesnar could be extremely great if he actually tried more. He’s like Orton, they don’t try as much as they should but if they really out the effort in, they could be great.
I think the reason why john said all time is because brock is the most believable guy on the roster theres is no box office attraction bigger than brock on the roster not even the fiend roman seth or aj or randy. Every brock appearance has millions of views on RUclips. But brock isn't the best of all time.
Absolutely the fiend is probably right behind brock if it was any other person they don't react Aleister black if they book him right could be really great
It's only a weird thing to say because we usually reserve that title for guys we feel are passionate about the business. Guys like HBK, Ric Flair, and Undertaker. But if we're being objective, Brock is one of the best guys when it comes to being in control. He understands the ring like a point guard understands the court. If he's doing a squash match, he makes the squash match look more brutal than anyone else. If he's making a match competitive, he does a really good job of making the other guy look like a badass.
In ring "performing" is actually a combination of athletic ability and the art of telling a story thru said athletic ability you have to engage the audience make them believe in whats happening Plus make it entertaining its ome thing to be booked or pushed to win or dominante but there's still a match story you have to sell to the audience The majority of HBK's matches from smallest to tallest he was gonna draw you in and keep you engaged till the final bell They say at wrestlemania 10 Shawn Michaels wrestled a ladder razor ramon was just there Look at wgat he did woth Hogan at summerslam Hogans bigger than wrestling and HBK turned it into a hilarious spectacle The ability to control the narrative the story the drama is the true art of in ring performing Yes Brock can sell But I also feel he needs a legit in ring performer to bring out the best in him Shawn Michaels (Or Kurt angle Or Jericho Or Bret Or Styles Or Eddie Or Rock Or FLAIR) DON'T!
Very incorrect, If you've watched past promos of his rivalries it is so destructive and so damn believable, He makes everything believable, He always bring huge draws having matches on Ppvs like WrestleMania etc, and is very safe on the ring, He may be a part-timer but everytime he is announced to be in Raw/Smackdown it usually gets high views and not to mention the way he sells is like its not in entertainment
Brock in the 2000s when he actually was hungry or actually had a move set was the best in the world... his agility and power was crazy.. now he just a 2 move wrestler... so I can’t agree with cena... maybe when he debuted yes...
xElementZ GAMING Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and Eddie Guerrero. Far more experienced in-ring workers who entertained and elevated whichever division they were competing in and could convincingly work with anyone. Not to mention they put on some of the absolute best matches of that era. They were even apart of the SmackDown Six which by themselves made SmackDown more worthwhile to watch than Raw. In-ring work goes a lot further than being muscular and athletic. Eddie got freakin BRADSHAW over with his in-ring work! Not sure 2002-04 Brock could do the same.
Booker T right on that one brock lesnar is a Believable and a Surprising Must See Performer in tha WWE business hands down hate him or love he will put on a show...
I am a professional wrestler. Jason the terrible is my name. And I have wrestled all over the world and I agree Brock Lesnar is fabulous. What he did in the Royal Rumble was unbelievable. It was awesome, but everybody worked very hard.
@Jeff Pryce I'm with you. I mean, shit..I grew up watching Booker T. Benoit being one of my favorites. Hulk hogan and Macho man were my dad's favorites, but I was enthralled by them as well. Brock is good..but definitely not the best or even close. But I like how Booker said it..."Right now on the roster today..in 2020"...then YES. He can still make you feel like it works. because Wrestling today looks way too fake. Back then, a hit looked like it had feeling. Today they play like elementary school kids who were told to not hit too hard.

I thought exactly the same about the rumble. His facials alone put 2 or 3 guys over. He was also very entertaining with his dancing and obviously a physical freak. Was a fantastic display.
All the marks shut up . Brock is what is still keeping wwe relevant . It’s not about moves it’s about the impact and story telling the performance . no one can beat that
That is true but at the same time creative sucks and can’t even write a compelling storyline for any of the superstars. Brock’s just lucky to have a genius like Paul Heyman at his side who is a master on the mic. If Brock didn’t have Paul he would simply be another Braun Strowman. Besides the best in ring performers were HBK, Bret, The Rock, and Stone Cold. Brock is simply the greatest currently wrestling
@@jmelz155 Its not really creative that is the problem with wrestling. The biggest problem these days is the fans themselves. I can't stand among them without feeling embarressed as they all look semi-autistic. I like Bray as a person but The Fiend character is so lame yet these current fans absolutely love it because they think they understand the wrestling business and so they know The Fiend is a "heel" yet despite them thinking they know so much about the wrestling business they forget that a heel is supposed to be hated yet they all love the Fiend and think its a great gimmick despite liking him. Simply put The Fiend looks like the type of character my friends and I would invent in backyard wrestling or a video game caw when we were 10 years old, so what does that say about modern day wrestling fans?
Brock's believability is deeply rooted because he is one of the greatest college amateur wrestlers ever, plus a legit UFC MMA champion .... he is the actual legit deal, not a mere actor-performer ..... it's believable that he's a beast that can kill you in there, because he actually can ..... I remember his first debut in WWF back in the day with Hayman, when he walked out and interrupted a triple-threat match and destroyed everyone in the ring (especially Spike Dudley) ..... the audience turned from shock to chants, even though they had no clue who this guy was .... it went from a fun little match with a bunch of guys running around, to - holy shit, someone's gonna get hurt badly here ..... got serious and believable real quick ..... not everyone can do that
Brock is Not, he sucks.A person who is barely around, how is that a best in ring.Yes,Brett and Shawn are superb in ring performance. There are many others that are best in ring performing.

@@bizil100 On the point about his longevity, I would add in that his injuries from his time in the UFC could haunt him in a heartbeat... that's likely a reason he's scaled back, because his body was already a bit fragile from the injuries he endured with his MMA career.

I actually mistook him for Sam Roberts when I first found this and only heard Brad Gilmore's voice. 😂🤣😁

The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, these 5 are the best imo,

The Rock oversells but it works. Shawn Michaels is the best seller period.

Jeff Pryce your not wrong Sir.
@Vankruze Eddie hands down.

Vankruze definitely not the rock maybe the best in wrestling psychology and controlling the crowd
Brock back in 2002-04 was the best in-ring performer of all time. Only Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley come close.
How about Shawn Michaels, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryant, Eddie, etc
Brock Lenser is one of if not the best in ring performer I’ve ever seen, strength, speed, agility, interaction, pace, just overall a great performer

You should take off the n't at the end of does, because what you're saying with it there is that Brock Lesnar is *NOT* special, which I believe contradicts your opinion.
Brock from 02 till 04 was the man. One of the very best performers ever. Not quite Hart, Angle or HBK but he's up there!
He is a ufc champ you prick. He would knock out hart and angle in a second
The fact that Brock has yet to injure someone or himself while being an actual natural born monster is astounding. The self control he has is in a league of his own
He did bust randy ortans head open with his elbow once, but yea no serious injuries
Brock lesnar almost broke his neck against angle at Wrestlemania botching a star spangle press
@@Heimboy07 that was a work
What about Hardcore Holly and A-Train?😂😂
He broke Hardcore Holly’s neck. I think that is the only real injury to an opponent.
Those three are in my top 5 too.
I think Kurt Angle is best ever
TOday I agree that Brock is most believable...but I think they could have made Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, or Nakamura that guy had they built them right.
Kurt is 2nd imo
Owen Hart and brock Lesnar

Lol rock? He was just good actor but not so good in ring performer
It's such an objective thing. Like, how do you measure this? Hard to argue with something that's so personal.
That's why John Cena said 'in my opinion'. He's not saying it's fact it's just his opinion.
Best In-Ring Performer of All Time? Definitely Shawn Michaels

Aj styles
Exactly my immediate thought too. No way Brock is above HBK, or guys like Bret Hart, Kurt Angle etc.

Funny watching Book trying not to smile for the first minute
You can’t not learn great psychology when you work with Paul Heyman
@@sirpranksalot1 This comment deserves a medal.
Apparently John forgot HBK when he not only gave John one of his best performances at Wrestlemania 23 but the Monday Night Raw after. Just saying.
HBK is the best wrestler ever
Very true... Benoit was the greatest technical wrestler of all time
The guy had CTE and the brain of an 84 year old Alzheimer’s patient.
HBK is the best in ring performer of all time.. the Michael Jordan of the WWE
@David 94 Michael Jordan you stand corrected buddy
I think that Shawn Michaels is the best in ring performer of all time. Cena is one of the greatest Wrestlers of all time and Brock lesnar is really one of the most big time performers
Anki wan kenobi faces Shawn is a beast
Cena isn't wrong about that
Really all he does is suplex and f5 pin. Boring shit
SP we are talking about now not the past. Yes he has classic matches. But you can’t compare him to a Shawn or Austin.
I'm here for the gloss
Check your forehead
There's a huge divide between the more experienced guys who are still around (Lesnar, Orton, Cena, Show, Mysterio) and the others. You could say the newcomers still haven't had time to reach that level, but back in early 2000's when these ones came around, they were already more believable than the new ones today.
Shawn Michaels nuff said
Hbk was a great in ring performer, I can't say he was the best.
No its between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in my eyes
if we are talking best... Brock is the best (believability is the most important thing)
if we are talking best in ring (then it will be someone under 160 pounds)
(or maybe a technical wizard)..
True.
Jericho!!! Angle!!! The rock!! Stone cold!!! Edge!!! Mankind!! Taker!!! Come on now. Smh.
I wouldn’t put the rock in that category, he just a good ass seller. Don’t get me wrong he’s good but top performer nah
tdove123 bro, the rock is one of the greatest of all time. Period. When it comes to promos, performance and selling. Dude is the total package. How dare you downplay the rock like that. Smh.
Nick Holmes so you saying the rock is the best IN-RING performer of all time?
tdove123 he’s considered one of the best. He’s the total package. He has it all not just ring performance. Brock is just like the wwe. Great ring performance but garbage promos, gimmicks and everything else.
Nick Holmes ok
Shawn Michaels was the best in ring performer.
Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Kurt and Aj styles for me are the best wrestlers and performers that WWE has had
He ain’t the best but my personal favorite would probably be The Rock, Stone Cold, Hulk, Warrior and Rick Rude.
Bad Taste Brock is best.
Shawn Michaels must have never been born
@Joe Turner The only difference between the 2 is that Brock is obviously much stronger.
U think HBK could legit beat Brocks ass? Or anyone at all in wwe?
In ring "performing" is actually a combination of athletic ability and the art of telling a story thru said athletic ability you have to engage the audience make them believe in whats happening
Plus make it entertaining its ome thing to be booked or pushed to win or dominante but there's still a match story you have to sell to the audience
The majority of HBK's matches from smallest to tallest he was gonna draw you in and keep you engaged till the final bell
They say at wrestlemania 10 Shawn Michaels wrestled a ladder razor ramon was just there
Look at wgat he did woth Hogan at summerslam Hogans bigger than wrestling and HBK turned it into a hilarious spectacle
The ability to control the narrative the story the drama is the true art of in ring performing
Yes Brock can sell
But I also feel he needs a legit in ring performer to bring out the best in him

Very incorrect, If you've watched past promos of his rivalries it is so destructive and so damn believable, He makes everything believable, He always bring huge draws having matches on Ppvs like WrestleMania etc, and is very safe on the ring, He may be a part-timer but everytime he is announced to be in Raw/Smackdown it usually gets high views and not to mention the way he sells is like its not in entertainment
Shawn Michaels is the ULTIMATE in-ring performer, FACT

xElementZ GAMING Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, and Eddie Guerrero. Far more experienced in-ring workers who entertained and elevated whichever division they were competing in and could convincingly work with anyone. Not to mention they put on some of the absolute best matches of that era. They were even apart of the SmackDown Six which by themselves made SmackDown more worthwhile to watch than Raw.

he left wwe in 2004 and returned in 2012 so there was a definite gap
