I really like the look and that color is beautiful. I have a Mitsubishi Lancer GTS Sportback that I bought new ten years ago. Its been totally reliable - nothing but regular maintenance. I didn't need to use that long factory warranty once! That said, while I would absolutely consider the 2022 Eclipse Cross the deal breaker is the spotty dealer network. I live near Sacramento and the closest one is a 45 minute drive from my home. That is the ONLY Mitsubishi dealer from San Francisco to Portland Oregon. That's just ridiculous. I'm glad mine has been reliable. If I had to have warranty work done it would have involved getting a rental or a loaner since its so far from my home (plus driving back and forth).
You in Sacramento as well...I heard Roseville Kia will service Mitsubishi vehicles there. Anyway, I am thinking about buying into Mitsubishi. Own one in 2001 until the accident. Since then always wanted any Mitsubishi but concern with what you were saying about the distance if need service. Don't trust Kia Roseville for service, lol.
SOME of THESE SUV's are QUIETER THAN OTHERS. OVERALL, any of them when you LEAN on THE GAS, YOU HEAR THE ENGINE. What a SHARP LOOKING CAR THOUGH. LIKE THE REST THOUGH THE MORE OPTIONED UP, THE MORE IT'S PRICED UP.
They screwed up with the rear design I love the original.. too bad they weren’t smart and refreshed the interior for out going look to give buyers best of both worlds .. why don’t car companies do that! Sometimes all that needs fixing is the interior
Thts the thing ...people complain about split rear mirrors and smart radio ... and mitsubishi took them away and gave us crap to please these individuals that wasn't buying or would even buy a mitsubishi in the first place.
Givem that Mitsubishi's phasing out MPSS in favor of Bose, I wonder how the audio quality of MPSS found in the Eclipse Cross and Outlander PHEV compares to that of the Bose system found in the CX-5, 2022 Outlander, and Rogue.
I have not listened to the stereo in the Outlander, but can say that the 8-speaker system of the Eclipse Cross w/touring package does sound VERY good. The system can play music files in flac format and HD videos in mp4 format from usb flash drives. The "video" portion of videos plays only when the car is not moving, but the audio from videos keeps playing while the vehicle is moving.
l'm not obsessed with hard plastic like so many reviewers are and as far as the looks of the new redesign l do think they did a good job at that and is fine, but what doesn't work for me is a subcompact SUV with a tiny 1.5 liter 4-cyl that needs a turbo just to get to 150 hp and yet only manages to gets 26 mpg highway. Why not just forget the turbo and instead go with a 2 liter or 2.4 with a 9-spd transmission that can get 30+ mpg highway and not have to be flooring the pedal all the time just to get any power out of it as is the case with the 1.5? At 26 mpg hwy and the soaring fuel prices l think that's going to be a factor in a lot of peoples buying decisions. l know l won't even consider it with that layout.
Many people really like this engine. It does have 184 pound-feet of torque in the 2000 to 3500 rpm range, so you don't have to floor it to get some power. The FWD version is rated at 28 mpg highway, and I have been averaging 28 mpg overall.
I agree... while I like the front improvement it's not a reason for me to upgrade... I prefer the older smart display, rear lower bumper and the quality material of older design...new version just go more trunk space to which I dnt even use..lol
Why fix what isn't broken though? I like cars that have had the same powertrain for years, means its proven and doesn't cost the manufacturers millions in warranty work.
These reviewers need to stop copy and paste information.... the dam rear with split window has way more visibility than this new model... pause the video when it's show the rear of both and you will see that rear visual line is inline with both side mirror on both the split n new design... hence the split section below is additional visibility.... as a matter of fact it has way more visibility than 90% of suv/cross over yet these reporter keep emphasize this falsehood. However I guess mitsubishi decided it's easy to go along with it than to pay expense ro promote it.... the rear end of this model will look perfect ..but not this model as it just a correction and not a complete redesign on rear.
My mind's like'n the look of this vehicle more & more, plus it's unique. The ONLY takeaway being, it needs more "presence" to make a Statement out there. My thought was 19" gloss black wheels at least on the SEL trim, but no wheel options available per the Mitsu Build & Price website. The wheels on here "cheapen" the look they're Tryin2 bring; not good, especially since they're widely available on other trim levels.
Undecided about the SEL touring extension package. I don't see where its worth $995. What doe's it do, nothing that I can see. Now it the designers would have been smarter they could have included a cool set of dual exhausts for about the same amount of money, other than that I really like the car. Maybe next years model will have duals with the touring package
The SEL Touring package ads $2.1k, not $1k. It adds 2 skylights, better stereo (8 speakers versus 6), heads-up-display, heated rear seats, forward collision mitigation with high-speed braking, buttons on sunvisor to program remote control door openers, and adaptive cruise control
@@nightdrive2646 You have misunderstood the meaning of my comment. I was referring to the outside lower extension package that does cost $995.00 My point is I do don't see it as something I'm willing to pay for because it does nothing.
@@williamkoebel8247 I did misunderstand. That $995 is a visual element, and for me a huge visual element. I can't explain it, but the body-colored bottom piece plus the black and red accent just looks sharp, really sharp.

I don't know why they send lower powered version to the US. I drove 163PS version with manual transmission. The car was quick but not fast enough. It was struggling after 180 kmh and barely saw 200+ kmh speeds.
I’m living in a hot climate country where it is rarely raining. Only handful times light showers and never gets snow indeed I am wondering if the AWD will bring some driving dynamics or stability value. Not impressed. To much cheap interior plastic trim. Horrible black plastic that will forever need cleaning & will show every scratch. Rear head room is not good if your tall. They need to improve a lot here yet. Well behind on the tech. front.
I don't jump to subscribe to every video I come across, especially at the beginning, for no reason. Why does EVERYBODY say to do this so adamantly & right away? Is that in the Standard RUclips Guide? What's in it for you, the provider? Ridiculous. I like this model (still not subscribing). What Option gets the lower body trim with red accent striping? Also barely noticeable on that red LoL
More subscribers = more views. RUclips is all about algorithms and what your engagement rate is, how often folks click, come back etc. Subscribe or not, I appreciate your comment and for watching! This is the SEL, by the way...almost the top fully loaded model.
I like the interior on this, but as far as calling it an eclipse in comparison ? It's one ugly as eclipse imo. It should be on a class of it's own not in a cross in between as this has been advertised. Edit: what turns me off about this is the exterior on this. That's why I can't classify it as an eclipse.
The reason you have person like Matt from car wow having so much subs is simply because of his wide knowledge of vehicle and information as well as he admiting that he don't know shit.... paddle shift mode is basically the sport mode and you would discover that if you had driven the vehicle like it was in sport mode, but then again you didn't press the sport button lol.... You would also discover that the more sportier/ faster you drive the steering feel changes, it actually gets firmer at high speed and mentain for awhile until it realise you end such driving... majority 95% of vehicle in this category n price range has anolag dash, why compare this vehicle to a benz, BMW or audi??? The older radio was miles better than this shit that mitsubishi took from Nissan and slap onto dash to please people who complain about a touchpad they don't have to use (it's stupid). Please go into the older model with split window and tell me which has a wider view coverage. The suv in this class all basically has the same power point. If you are driving a vehicle from a stop and when you drive off you hear the engine screaling then you aren't driving properly, never step into a gas pedal from a dead stop, in these modern vehicle tht has protective sensor to avoid sudden acceleration... thts why most vehicles has/had sport mode to know the driver's intention.. ... hence use the paddle shift/shift mode for true acceleration capability. While I understand the constraint of time limit you had with vehicle...never just video and comment while testing out a vehicle as you will likely misjudged.... Now that the rear split window is undone let's see if this vehicle sells... I doubt it will.
The car looks so great, but Mitsubishi should have called it a 2021 Xpander or Outlander or ASX or any of their Mitsubishi SUVs or mini SUVs. The Eclipse is a sports car name that is an icon in the sportscar tuning world. Fast and Furious franchise propelled the name Eclipse to a higher level, why change it to a mini SUV. Mitsubishi should have named it differently and focus on creating the 5th generation Eclipse sportscar.
