so AoS give you 4 detachment for free so every faction can do more stuff at the start of the edition, they say that the 2 firts battletome are not having much change (when they change everyting in the firts 40k codex was seems as a scam move since people buy alot looking at how index lounch) + handycap all the non codex armys with only 1 detachment Now aos is ¨boring¨ cause is more user friendly....you really cant make this up
Not sure if I understand you correctly but I think this whole situation comes back to how much these guys actually play warhammer. Liam and his crew do this for a living so they go through missions and detachments faster than a normal person that does warhammer as a hobby. I think his point is valid, however there is now the danger of people copying that opinion, which is a problem. Everyone experiences fun differently, I strongly believe though, that AoS is probably fun for the average hobbyist and won't become boring super soon.
I think that outside video games, there's a lot more competition in the overall fantasy realm than sci fi. Namely if people want to play a fantasy dice game, there's the giant D&D, but there's no equivalent for 40k to be compared against

@LiamDempsey40k Vallejo Black has always just been called Black. However, they put the colour name in Spanish on the other side, as they are a spanish company. So unless you think the full name of Bloody Red is Bloody Red Rojo Sanguina what you are thinking of isn’t part of the name, it's just the name in the native language of the manufacturer. Though I'm sure at some point the PC crowd will just want everyone to stop speaking Spanish.
Conventional matched play is always going to get stale for everyone but the most intensely competitive individuals. Path to glory isn't any better. It's matched play with extra steps. I would love to see you guys do real campaign in the style of the legendary Hyboria campaign that Tony Bath ran. It would be some decent work as you would have to write real campaign rules, but it would be a damn good show and nobody on RUclips is doing a AoS campaign.
