Linus still uses his. Cracked up and ild but goes to show that even with all of the new phones, he still prefers a note 9. Still one of the best Samsungs imo
Yeah after his fold broke. Although I thought his coverage of the LG wing was incredibly undercooked. But that's neither here nor there. Note 9 is absolutely still a usable device. I still use one occasionally then not as my primary but occasionally I put my SIM card in it. It's also a great music player with SD card and a headphone jack. Although ironically I was trying to communicate this very comment on my Note 9 and the keyboard got frozen and I couldn't see what I was typing or hit voice to text. Lol Suppose that's the biggest downside. The 845 chip is still fine. 6 GB of RAM is still fine. But Android 10 is getting a little ancient. I don't care about material you so much but there are some newer apps that just don't have proper compatibility with Android 10. Not a ton but certainly some newer ones. It's a shame it didn't get Even one more year of OD updates. Samsung didn't really extend their updates until around the time of the s21
@@michaelcorcoran8768same... my keyboard always freezes when trying to type on RUclips. But I have s20 fe 5g but I prefer to use my note 9. Its feels so premium and personally I love curved display. I replaced the battery and now it's having a blast
The new lineup is in 2024. The S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra all get 7 years of OS updates and security updates until 2031. It's a no-brainer. I'm upgrading from the base S23 to S24 Ultra 512Gb or 1Tb. Then I won't be upgrading for 7 years, lol 😂
I am still using the Galaxy Note 9. I have Note 20 for my second number, but I'm still using the N9 more and I love the N9. The battery life is getting worse, but the screen/display is still gorgeous. And most importantly no stupid notch or camera cut holes. I hate those.
Yeah, I hate notch and camera cut holes too. Notch and Camera Cut Holes will be gone soon. I think the Samsung S27 Ultra will implement under screen camera with improvement.
Have had the 512/8 GB Note9 for 4+ years as my only phone - absolutely love it! Cannot find anything wrong with it and enjoy using it every single day :) What do you mean "only other issue" - "having a headphone jack" LOL
Would still be using it. If it had a better processor, better cameras, and a better screen with variable refresh rate, had reverse wireless charging, had more nits for brightness, and still got security and Android updates.
I still use my S9+ as a Hi-Res music player with Poweramp and USB Audio Player Pro. The SD card slot makes it easy to add more storage for large collections.
Yeah in fact I would argue flagship phones from 3 or 4 years ago or basically the perfect music player. I guess maybe besides battery life maybe less powerful chip or operating system would extend battery life in a dap. But especially the LG phones with the Hi-Fi DAC but Samsung is well which also has good lock and sound assistant... If it has a headphone jack and an SD card it can work great. It's ironic I was seriously considering buying a Nord n30 just to use as a music player. You can get them for MetroPCS for like 60 bucks or you could at one point. I'd say entry level phone basically or mid-range at best. Got SD card, and headphone jack. And if you don't care about popping a SIM card in it it's a way better deal than like a $200 ifi go blue
Bought mine in 2020 on ebay? For like 160$ its actually appreciated in value lol. I wouldnt buy one now. But its served me well for almost 4 yrs now. Still using a blue 6/128 note 9 for a work phone. Still works great. Does everything I need it to do (phone, text, gvoice, web, drive, box, occasional YT) and the best implementation of Samsung pay there ever has been. Like carrying a tool box in your pocket. I've been flirting with some s22 ultra refurbs on eBay as a replacement, but honestly I think I'll just use the N9 until it's no longer supported by the apps I need. Best one Samsung ever made.
@martinezbiz Yes officially up to 1TB (some have claimed they can use 2TB). They also came with 512GB on board storage as well! Basically Note 9 and 10 on steroids..in 5G, 4G LTE etc...oh yeah 8K camera as well and 4k60fps on the front camera...oh yeah and 120fps screen
I think I speak for a lot of Note9'rs out there that the Note9 is STILL a top notch option ( in 2024 and beyond)? This device was an over-engineered juggernaut thats going on 6 years old , yet it still remains to be quite the desirable choice for more people than you think? At it's original price and release, it was out of reach for most people due to price for either variant? Now, they are more than affordable on the used and refurb markets? Android 10 is still stable and works just as it did when it was released back in the day? I'm not going to get into the features and build quality the Note9 has because I think everyone knows by now what this icon can do, and that is why it is STILL alive and well in 2024 🎉🙏
Except for the relatively minor issues caused by the device being stuck on Android 10 (short of flashing LineageOS or something), I'd personally argue the Note9 is still the best Samsung has to offer, barring none of the more recent phones. I'm not a Note9 user, never had one nor can claim to even like Samsung but the company (as well as every other one still making phones) has embraced a horrible practice of removing features ever since this device came out to the extent that most of the flagship tier can't boast half of what the Note9 offers.
I loved my note 9 back in the day, always remember really liking the fingerprint scanner on the back and it getting like magic just pick it up and ban unlocked lol
I am still using this Note 9 as my daily phone and I honestly don't notice all that much performance for regular daily use. But definitely thinking about buying a newer one.
LOL, this is such a joke. I've literally had my Note 9 from day one and I've not noticed one single thing that's held me back for the last six years. Probably the best phone I've ever had honestly. I love the fact that he says everything is outdated and not worth it, but doesn't explain what is causing it to be outdated. Sure, it may be past its prime, but if you can get this phone for less than $200 it is a killer deal. Also, I use my camera every single day and have no issues. I find it to be very good. I'm running apps that hog up resources like crazy and get no lag. If someone is requiring more out of their phone than what I am currently requiring out of my phone, then I question if you need a new phone or if you need new phone usage practices. You probably need to start using a computer for whatever activity you are trying to use your phone for.
This annoyed me too. Like yes, there are genuine reasons that running an old version of Android can be bad, such as increased risk of your device getting hacked compared to more recent security improvements but the likelihood of that happening to the average person are already pretty slim so long as you don't go clicking suspicious links or downloading dubious files. Some newer apps not being made to work on older versions of Android is also a valid potential problem but he doesn't cover it. Instead, the whole presentation is "old is bad" in the exact same shallow argument as his grievance with the camera not being 8K. The human eye can't even see the difference between 4 and 8K on a screen small enough to fit in a phone and most consumers don't even have a screen anywhere in their house capable of rendering an 8K image, including the latest "and greatest" device it's been recorded on. That's not to mention that 8K video is only recorded in 24 or 30fps so the framerate is going to stop it looking nice anyway. This whole "review" is extremely superficial, uneducated and massively lacking in facts.
I m still using my Note 9 with the exynos version, It still works pretty solid except for the battery, I Nedd to charge twice a day, it must have fell 100 time to this date until this last ime, my screen got a bit damaged. Still typing his from it, I do create SI images from it. Works on gamini, copilot, etc at pretty decent speed. This Is still my primary phone, wanted to upgrade to S24 ultra but Samsung has increased prices of their phones way too much to afford unless you use it for pro purposes. Nevertheless Still continuing with this rock solid phone.
With how little software support nowadays brings to devices, I don't think the fact that it doesn't get it, makes such devices a deal breaker. It's still a good device and I use mine comfortably without any issues
It's amazing that the Note 9 is still relevant today for being 5-6 generation years behind. I believe this was the last Samsung phone that had the "three" OG exclusive feature that most people felt were a deal breaker. Headphone jack, LED notification and SD storage. On top of that it doesn't have a punch hole camera in the front screen, a true rear physical finger print scanner that works 99.9% of the time, an Iris scanner, mst capability and some of the best battery of any phone. I upgraded to a S21 Ultra this year and sometimes I felt I had buyer's remorse when the speed of the two phones are not that much different (Check some of the RUclips vid for comparison). The only negative are that the camera is a bit obsolete but still pretty decent and the that the battery doesn't hold its charged as well compared to when it first came out. That's to be expected of any phone after a few years of use. Just an impressive all around phone.
It seems like for Simple Alpaca, even if an old flagship still has very powerful hardware and very good features and everything, but if its no longer getting the latest version of software, then thats a deal breaker as far as him recommending using the phone. I could say that with the Note 9, you are still getting better performance and features than a new budget phone that you could buy for the same price, however the advantage that the new budget phone would have is that you are getting a much newer version of Android on the new budget phone and maybe a better battery since the old flagship's battery may have degraded from a few years of use.
I think it's pretty silly to recommend people buy an s24 or an s23 if they're shopping for a Note 9. Lol. You're talking about adding five or $600 to the price at a minimum. Not to mention you lose the headphone jack, and the SD card, and the iris scanner, and MST/Samsung pay, and the capacitive fingerprint sensor.... And the LED lights. And the lack of an interruption on the screen like a notch or a punch hole. Again people here are looking at a phone for 200 bucks... If you want to suggest they get a moto stylus or a Nord n30 or maybe a used s21 instead I could sort of see that. Maybe an LG V60, oneplus 9 etc .. But you just tell people to get an s24 instead seems a little odd.
I came here to say this but more specifically the features than the price point. Price is obviously important in a lot of cases but the reason I'm currently contemplating buying a 6-year-old phone is because there's no longer anything on the market that has all of those features now. I currently own an Xperia 1 III (which I was lucky enough to get for ~$500 secondhand) but I've just learned the hard way that Sony phones are plagued with fingerprint sensor issues and I'm not entirely confident in my ability to fix it properly or even whether the sensor component is the definitive cause of the problem. I'm not concerned about the iris scanner but after spending a couple of days looking through the current market, I've been unable to find anything that ticks the boxes for 3.5mm, SD card, non-IPS display, modern Android and non of that infernal, contradictory notch/nipple/holepunch BS, so here I am in 2024 looking to buy a device from 2018 and go through the process of installing LineageOS on it simply because there's nothing left on the market I deem "good enough" no matter how much money you try to throw at the problem and I'm already giving up my luxurious toolless SIM tray and going back to those godawful pin tools that are often rendered useless by a meager amount of sweat. I know this is very much a first world problem but technology is supposed to be getting better, not making it harder, if not impossible to find a genuinely good device.
@@redhood9918 The Note10 already gutted all of the features Michael named. I'm less sure about the LED lights and paying app, but headphone jack, SD card slot, iris scanner, capacitive fingerprint sensor and discreet selfie camera were already gone by the Note10, hypocritically following in Apple's warpath despite how much praise the Note9 received from Samsung fans and the general public for not getting rid of the features that matter to people when the latest device came out. All replaced with that contradictory holepunch camera invading on that nice big display.
I kept my Note 9 to use as a mini tablet that I keep next to me on my end table. I transferred the sim to my new phone, the S22 Ultra, which isn't actually new anymore. But, the 22 Ultra has received many software updates with AI that I frankly didn't expect, so I plan to hold on to it until 2025. Then I will put the Note 9 in my "dead file", and use the S22 Ultra as a mini tablet!
Just bought my 4th case. Screen has a few minor unnoticeable scratches. I work in a steel shop and on site. I will replace the battery and screen when necessary to keep this tank going. I picked it up to play PUBG for the full screen and no notches.
watching this from the note 9 itself. Makes me appreciate it even more although the old android version is quite bad its not the worst compared to others.❤❤❤
This phone still has much better specs and performance than the cheapest A05 from this year but the advantage of the A05 over the Note 9 is that you are getting a much newer version of software and also a better battery life. Both devices you can buy for around the same price, but the Note 9 does have much better quality hardware wise while the A05 has much newer software.
to me it is the most beautiful design samsung has ever made for one of their phone. unfortunately mine is starting to overheat for no reason and I fear i'm gonna have to switch to a newer phone this year :c (also the battery is dangerously close to failing and it'd be dumb to pay the price of a new phone to replace it ...)
I have the 15 pro max. But i have another line and i saw this note 9 in the floor of my son house . 6 years ago i bought it for him . I took it and went to att . Put the sim card and i am so surprise HOW I LIKE IT . THE BATTERY STILL 94 % GOOD . Love it ❤
Been using samsung note 9 it's already 6 yrs old with cracked screen never ever changed screen since got cracked yrs ago or let someone open it to check, and a lots of drops (with armor case really helpful) lot's of experienced got also virused since bought it. What I can tell is still beast and the camera tho. ❤
Wonder if he reads the comments. Note 9 is a hell of a great phone in 2024. Even if all you use it for is a backup device, it'll suite you just fine (provided you have one that isn't beat up or have an almost dead battery)
@@nadamedec1577 I currently have the S22 Ultra, so I gave my girlfriend my Note 20 Ultra when I upgraded. She loves the phone, and even when I use her phone from time to time, I don't notice any lag or bugs. The Note 20 Ultra is still a great phone, and you can buy it at a great price.
Both but not with as much importance as this person implies. Newer versions of Android have better protections against viruses and other attack vectors but common sense can easily cover that, just don't click random links even from "friends" don't tap ads or weird download buttons on websites and don't install random APKs from websites you don't know. Performance wise, there's a lot more optimisation going on to make the phone's battery go further throughout the day, but in my experience it can be extremely overzealous to the extent that I'm commonly fighting my phone to keep certain apps running so this is a swings and roundabouts situation. Beyond those two, with old enough versions of Android, there's an increasing chance of newer apps not being compatible with the outdated software. This is a relatively niche problem in regards to A10 (for now) and all of these points can be counteracted on the Note9 by flashing LineageOS onto the device, effectively installing Android 13 for those who are daring an tech-savvy enough to go through the process.
@@Dazyredfox87 No problem. After further reading for my own sake, I can't recommend LineageOS due to the amount of native Samsung features that would be removed. However, I'd recommend Floydrom. It's a ROM that is made from copying the Android software from newer Samsung units and adapting it to the Note9 and S9.
The Note 9 is the first Samsung phone that I fell in love with. The system was totally different than the IOS system that I have been used to. I never gave it a chance. Bought the phone a few times. I thought that it was a well built piece of hardware. I eventually got used to the Android system with Samsung and love my S24 Ultra.
Battery optimisations, newer app support and improved security, all of which are relatively negligible. That said, I suspect he doesn't know any of that since he never tried to explain to his audience why an older version of Android is bad. Also, for the daring and tech savvy, it's possibly to upgrade the Note9 to Android 13 by flashing the device, which he probably also doesn't know.
I always wanted a Note phone, but was too much money and went got into Huawei when my dad bought us the p20 pro. So, when I wanted to upgrade, I went with the Note 20 (50% off) after years without actual android (just Huawei's UI). I like this phone a lot and the pen is a nice addition when I don't want to smudge my screen or just be more precise. Like the plastic back and now don't want to use a case as it's grippy and sleek without one (plus no fingerprints👏).
Yeah the only thing that bummed me out about that phone was the lack of an SD card. That was a strange omission. But I didn't care about the 60 hzv refresh rate, I know a lot of people do. And that is attempting price, and unlike the Note 9 it's still got Android 12 or maybe even 13? Whereas the Note 9 is buried on 10. One thing I do like about the Note 9 is the SD card in the headphone jack Make it an ideal music player. But the Note 20 is so affordable and the Note 20 ultra has maintained a stubbornly high price on the resale market for a phone that's near its end of life. The my situation was very similar I wanted S pen So badly but at the time the s21 didn't have an internal pen. Note 20 ultra was still cost prohibitive. Note 10 didn't have the headphone jack or the SD card and the Note 10 Plus was still stubbornly high and no headphone jack. So they're not nine was basically the only option at the time. But the Note 20 has become super affordable. It was released at A thousand bucks which seems like a shameless ploy to make everyone by the $1,300 ultra. At like 250 bucks or less, it's a hell of a deal
yes i bought on release and heavily used every day since. absolute trooper and in my opinion still one of the best smartphones as of rn. no notch and headphone jack with decent dac. my chraging port is very sensitive now :(
I bought my Note 9 on 30 August 2018 for $999. The camera(s) take excellent images in my opinion. The applications serve my purposes very well. I backed up all of my data from its predecessor, an Apple iPhone 6s Plus, including messages, contacts, calendar, bookmarks, music and pictures on this phone. Finally, I added a 128 GB MicroSD, and six years later I have about 75 GB of data across the 256 GB of storage(half internal/half on the SD card). It is in a case with a screen cover, and has a screen protector. Lately I have wondered, "How long can I expect my Samsung Note 9 to last?" I backup my phone periodically, but it will be easier to transfer my data to a successor if the phone is still functional. How long do smart phones last?
Still rocking my 6 yr old Note 9, bought 4-5 latest phones like fold etc after it but nothing offers as much as Note9 dose even in 2024, so apart from sd card and headphone jack, it has an iris sensor, hr and spO2 sensor, force touch haptic home virtual button, mechanical dual aperture camera, stereo speakers, conductive charging s pen, air gestures, s pen camera control, wireless charging, reverse charging etc, any phone to counter pls?
This phone is LEGENDARY it's so sad that samsung aren't making anything as good or cool as the N9. I owned 4 of them & I'm currently using the 5th. Not a single smartphone till this day is better than the N9 Farewell king 😢
for me my note has been going on for the last 5 years. ive been close to the "breaking point" when it comes to software. android 10 itself is stable, but the apps on the play store aren't half of the time and crash a lot and become unresponsive. my google maps straight up wont let me go back a step when im in navigation, SoundCloud constantly crashes and fails to load songs, and majority of food apps like to crash when trying to select anything, and app developers are starting to forego anything android 10 related like Duo Mobile 2FA for my college recently. i know a lot of people dont have any issues when it comes to using a note 9 but for me, as time moves forward i may see my self switching to a newer phone like a Pixel for their long software update promises.
Still using mine but no Android upgrades but it still works. It literally is a Workhorse! Unfortunately only recently I've noticed if i power off the unit it takes some time to turn on. That's why I've been keeping it on all day. I'm worried if i turn it off the next time it won't turn on anymore.
Love my note 9 own 4 of them. As long as it works why fix it. I can spend 1000 dollars on something else than the overpriced status only new phones. People pay 2 grand for a phone just for status. Well, I own another prehistoric device. Similar in "best ever made catagory" a 1999 Ferrari 355f1. Guess what, its a last of its kind until 10 years later ferrari came out with the la ferrari. If you ask any Ferrari enthusiasts, they will say best sounding formula sounding car ever!
My phone has become unusable due to a lot of lagging and freezing. The battery is not in its best condition and the pen is lost. Could this be the reason?
Watching this from my Note 9 🤣🤣 I have the SM-N960U with Android 10, UI 2.5. I'm beyond attached to it for the speed, graphics, familiarity, stylus, size, etc. I got it from my boyfriend a year ago after my Galaxy S10 broke and would've cost too much to replace since my warranty was up. This phone has so many great qualities and I do NOT want to upgrade but unfortunately I no longer have a choice, I fear. The battery has depreciated super fast over the last couple of months, the USB port is a tad loose, and the screen has some cracks in it due to my kiddo accidentally knocking it out of my hand when we were hauling groceries into our home. I've considered both paying our of pocket repairs or replacing it, but it's still quite expensive and adds up quick. On top of that, it is not getting any more updates now ~ which is what's forcing the battery life to be so crummy bc companies purposefully do that to force us to upgrade ~ and security updates leave me as a developer extremely vulnerable. Soooo basically that's where I'm at. I'm watching this video to see like-minded people share their thoughts on enjoying and appreciating this phone like I do. Bummer Samsung chose to let this line fade out. I'm considering an upgrade to an S23 Ultra bc it has the stylus and seems to be the most similar, but I just can't seem to pull the trigger quite yet. I guess do it soon though.
Just in case you haven't bit the bullet yet, still consider the battery and charging port replacement replacement. Both components are still available from electronics suppliers and are pretty cheap. On top of that, someone with a developer background like yourself will likely find the process of flashing LineageOS pretty easy so you'd be able to upgrade the software to Android 13.
Mine's sometimes laggy because the memory is almost full. I don't know which to delete lol. There's already screen burn in due to overuse of TikTok 😂😂😂😂
this phone still has an amazing panel. no notch. heaphone jack with good quality dac. you can install a different minimal os to speed things up. I still daily drive heavily and its a little laggy but its still reliable and working. Idk if there is a better screen yet I hate notches
Can't wait for them "Note 9 in 2025 videos." Lol. I was waiting for someone to finally make one for 2024. For what it's worth I still use my Note 9 although it's not my primary or only device. But I do occasionally I put a SIM card in it for the hell of it or use it as a Wi-Fi only device. It's excellent music player with the headphone jack and SD card support. It's a freaking beautiful device as well.
For tasks like internet, photos, videos, access to apps (WhatsApp, bank accounts, web pages from any other activity, etc.) using the pen, hearing music, etc. Note 9 is as fine as a phone can get. Investing in a new phone with this quality you have to pay a lot, and as for now, not worth it unless you like to show off investing 900USD plus. Keep it until it dies.
The hardware is still good. Samsung arbitrarily killed it and didn't give it Android 11. or unlock bootloader on snapdragon when support ended. We'll probably get exnyos variant in the future to avoid this.
Samsung note 9 it is still a good smartphone the current Samsung they have removed the master Card and visa note 9 was the last smartphone to have Samsung pay visa and Mastercard support that is why I can still buy it
Main device is s22 Ultra, but I use my Note9 for fun. I love my Note9, but I cracked screen on the beveled edge. Now 1/4 of the screen glitches, and goes green 😢. Really thinking of replacing screen.
I still use my Note 9 for streaming, gaming and social media use cos my Z Flip 5 despite being less than 1 Yr already developed dead pixels on the right part where the phone folds and it's annoying that I lose interest in that phone and foldable to be exact (my 1st foldable). Plus I missed the telephoto when it becomes handy, along with the spen. Also, I noticed note 9's speakers sounded better than z flip 5. Sounds fuller, bassier and louder. And don't start me with the 3.5mm headphone jack
I have a galaxy note 9 exynos version. I believe it I got around 2021 and it does what I need it to do, multimedia, texting, calling... Is it outdated? Yes. Am I looking for a new phone? When one comes up that seems an acceptable price and has my same needs. Phones are really hard to choose these days, x has this, y has that, where's the in between?
A note 9 is outdated?? Realy? Is this a joke? Oh cause it doesnt shoot in 8k, right.. 4k is not good enough now eh? 8k is over kill plus good luck rendering and editing on a none I9 machine. Note 9 still pretty fast in all applications, camera take awesome puctures and dont let me start with it's features.

Ah, the last good Galaxy Note device
Bro literally said "no 8k which is a letdown" it's a 6 year old phone 😂
note 10+ seems like its a good upgrade from the 9. better battery, double the ram, bigger screen and storage
Note 20 Ultra was the last great Note. Took Note 9 features and built on top of them minus the headphone jack
@@mike_t_007 no. note 10 plus had 256 storage. does note 20 ultra have expandable memory?
I'm not going to get into the features and build quality the Note9 has because I think everyone knows by now what this icon can do, and that is why it is STILL alive and well in 2024 🎉🙏
Agreed...Still rocking mine since 2018 and it never skipped a beat.. I use it alot to shoot my videos in 2k and 4k. Camera is great as well.
@@daggern15
Very well said...I agree.
6 years with my Note 9!
I am currently using galaxy note 9
Still using mine with a cracked LCD😂😂
@MrTakoyaki1992 that's rough buddy
What about the gaming in 2024
@@justanormalcarguy4892 very good
Yes please tell me about battery backup and gaming I am thinking to buy
I loved my note 9 back in the day, always remember really liking the fingerprint scanner on the back and it getting like magic just pick it up and ban unlocked lol
Hi I still use my Galaxy Note 9 for everything and it still fast and runs perfect. I love the phone. ❣️
What's ram do you use 6 or 8?
I want to get the note 9 as a secondary device. It’s crazy cheap now with all those features
This whole "review" is extremely superficial, uneducated and massively lacking in facts.
im still using samsung note 9 this 2024 and its still amazing..most of my videos was captured by note 9..the video is pretty nice❤
I think this is one of among the samsung models that had 'moisture detection' issues on its usb-c charging port.
when it dries the warning dissappears.
It's a great phone, still popular and the only thing against it is the lack of 5g which it just missed.
I'm still rocking the note 9 and I have 5g. Had it for years now. That is more carrier based rather than phone based.
5g is overrated right now anyways
Even an A52s would be alright if you have have a $200-$250 budget & you want a headphone jack
So no one note10???
Do a speed test of note 9 vs s24 ultra ❤😂😂
I have s20 fe 5g and note 9 but I use note 9 because its so premium and has sastifiying feeling eith curved screen which i personally love it
Just bought my 4th case.
Battery swap should be cheap and will fix the issue.
My note 9 finally died... guess I'll be getting another one.
Wonder if he reads the comments. Note 9 is a hell of a great phone in 2024. Even if all you use it for is a backup device, it'll suite you just fine (provided you have one that isn't beat up or have an almost dead battery)
sometimes, it isn't about buying the phone rather than learning how Samsung phones are performing through out the years
watching this on my note9 still dont have greenline issue.
"Has a headphone jack when it probably shouldn't." You bite your tongue. This is the kind of luxury that's almost impossible to find nowadays.
Note 9 is one of the best notes ever mad!
I bought Note 20 ultra but still using my Note 9.
Note 20ultra still worth to by in 2024 to use it 3 years again?
@@nadamedec1577 I currently have the S22 Ultra, so I gave my girlfriend my Note 20 Ultra when I upgraded. She loves the phone, and even when I use her phone from time to time, I don't notice any lag or bugs. The Note 20 Ultra is still a great phone, and you can buy it at a great price.
Hell yeah (written from my Note 20 Ultra)
Whats the most important thing to know about outdated software? Is it a matter of security risks or performance??
@@daggern15 Nice. Thank you for responding.
The Note 9 is such a good phone in my opinion
The Note 9 is the first Samsung phone that I fell in love with. The system was totally different than the IOS system that I have been used to. I never gave it a chance. Bought the phone a few times. I thought that it was a well built piece of hardware. I eventually got used to the Android system with Samsung and love my S24 Ultra.
what is the big deal about having software support. i use a note 9 since it came out and dont have amy issues except worse battery life
Battery optimisations, newer app support and improved security, all of which are relatively negligible. That said, I suspect he doesn't know any of that since he never tried to explain to his audience why an older version of Android is bad. Also, for the daring and tech savvy, it's possibly to upgrade the Note9 to Android 13 by flashing the device, which he probably also doesn't know.
Im watching this from my galaxy note 9 but with the one ui 6 ROM
Exynos or Snapdragon?
Watching on mine right now ❤
I planing to buy one just to use it as a MP4 player.
I heard Android is going to block side apps from downloading if I get one of these old phones I would like to know if they could still block it
Note 9 is still a BIG DEAL in 2024
I always wanted a Note phone, but was too much money and went got into Huawei when my dad bought us the p20 pro.
At like 250 bucks or less, it's a hell of a deal
yes i bought on release and heavily used every day since. absolute trooper and in my opinion still one of the best smartphones as of rn. no notch and headphone jack with decent dac. my chraging port is very sensitive now :(
Can you still get latest apps on it ?
This phone is LEGENDARY
it's so sad that samsung aren't making anything as good or cool as the N9.
I owned 4 of them & I'm currently using the 5th.
Not a single smartphone till this day is better than the N9
Farewell king 😢
for me my note has been going on for the last 5 years. ive been close to the "breaking point" when it comes to software. android 10 itself is stable, but the apps on the play store aren't half of the time and crash a lot and become unresponsive. my google maps straight up wont let me go back a step when im in navigation, SoundCloud constantly crashes and fails to load songs, and majority of food apps like to crash when trying to select anything, and app developers are starting to forego anything android 10 related like Duo Mobile 2FA for my college recently. i know a lot of people dont have any issues when it comes to using a note 9 but for me, as time moves forward i may see my self switching to a newer phone like a Pixel for their long software update promises.
Which OEM battery is good for Samsung note 9 and how much? Mine battery gets hot and will turn off and on. Thanks
Can you tell me what's the game featured at the start of the video?
Glad it has a very popular rom community
My phone has become unusable due to a lot of lagging and freezing. The battery is not in its best condition and the pen is lost. Could this be the reason?
Software support isn't really a problem in my opinion given that there is a release of lineageos for the note 9.
the note 9 is still one of the best phones. I've had mine fir 4 years I love my phone
If someone is considering to buy an old flagship, they are ready to sacrifice on some things
Still rocking note 9 and note 20. Ultra
Mine's sometimes laggy because the memory is almost full. I don't know which to delete lol. There's already screen burn in due to overuse of TikTok 😂😂😂😂
How many hours of screen on time could I get if I find a new one in 2024 ??
this phone still has an amazing panel. no notch. heaphone jack with good quality dac. you can install a different minimal os to speed things up. I still daily drive heavily and its a little laggy but its still reliable and working. Idk if there is a better screen yet I hate notches
"Severely outdated" what a ridiculous statement 😂
Can't wait for them "Note 9 in 2025 videos." Lol. I was waiting for someone to finally make one for 2024.
For what it's worth I still use my Note 9 although it's not my primary or only device. But I do occasionally I put a SIM card in it for the hell of it or use it as a Wi-Fi only device. It's excellent music player with the headphone jack and SD card support.
It's a freaking beautiful device as well.
Is there a good custom ROM for the Note 9? Has anyone run LineageOS on it?
Galaxy Note 7 please ❤❤❤
that would one to collect.😊
Bro. You dont know any thing about the note 9.
I love this phone too much
Your review is nonsense.
Iam cureently still use note 9 snapdragon
You keep saying outdated but don't go into detail, you just Don like it cause it ain't new
For tasks like internet, photos, videos, access to apps (WhatsApp, bank accounts, web pages from any other activity, etc.) using the pen, hearing music, etc. Note 9 is as fine as a phone can get. Investing in a new phone with this quality you have to pay a lot, and as for now, not worth it unless you like to show off investing 900USD plus. Keep it until it dies.
If ever you buy one never buy the Snapdragon version, it has locked bootloaded so no fun at all getting those cool custom roms and stuff.
The hardware is still good. Samsung arbitrarily killed it and didn't give it Android 11. or unlock bootloader on snapdragon when support ended. We'll probably get exnyos variant in the future to avoid this.
Csn anyone tell me what to get i have 100 dollars rough estimate to bring to scool i have found one but what should i get
No security updates make me scared
Phones been released in 2018 wtf are you talking about - it’s only 6 years old .
Samsung note 9 it is still a good smartphone the current Samsung they have removed the master Card and visa note 9 was the last smartphone to have Samsung pay visa and Mastercard support that is why I can still buy it
I’m still using it and it’s still good
Have my note 9 for years but it has terrible screen burn
Note9 is the best, what are you talking about? I use it everyday and the camera is better than my note20.
Is it worth $40? I saw a listing. Kinda want to pull the trigger
Haha the legend still alive yay
Yesss.. galaxy note 9 gang!!!🎉
Main device is s22 Ultra, but I use my Note9 for fun. I love my Note9, but I cracked screen on the beveled edge. Now 1/4 of the screen glitches, and goes green 😢. Really thinking of replacing screen.
Put a one ui 6 custom rom and this is the better version although not faster than s24 Ultra
kinda unhelpful to talk about the camera without taking a simple picture as an example.
What's better. This or A55?
A55
Still £600 for a refurbished s22??????
