    Hi Mr. Ymx+c,
I just did my PPL theoretical exam last week and I have to say that I've learned alot consurning navigation by looking
how you explain some problems. So a big thank you for your explinations!
The way you explain is very clear and was very helpfull to me. I will keepon watching on your channel, cause is also
good to learn new things. So once again thanks alot and keep up the good work!
    Greetings out of The Netherlands

i would say is better to write nautical mile, it only will take few more seconds. Because n.m is not a standard unit like km. Although I did see some reference book do write n.m for it, but I would not recommend =P

Hello! Love your videos so much. You make everything simple and easy. Thank you for your hard work.
But there is one thing in this video that I dun get, which is the last part. Can I know why the latitude of P we have to use 80-48??

  • @jiaee7839

I want to ask can I use this ( (180-48-48) x 60 ) to find the distabce for longitude

Most cartographers do not even know how to apply this mathematical formula in everyday life to calculate distances between two points in the work. GIS simplifies everything where to know this formula is no longer needed, and at the surface it seems all fine and dandy until when you understand how dumbed down the field has become because of reliance on technology, and that you are no longer needed when everything becomes automated. Quite literally the field of geographics has been dumbed down, and information has been lost to our ignorance that we are losing knowledge essential for human development whereas technology is mistaken for advancement where it is quite the opposite.
As it is those who are knowledge seekers find it difficult to find examples as complex as this, (BTW it's not all that complex), and though there are some, at least here you get examples while others in the few examples available are ignorant that there are humans who need more then just to know of the formula. Most video's are based on the simplified versions of automated tasks, for example finding distance using the ruler tool, or if you are a programmer how to create a formula programmed for that tool to calculate distance.
The PTB really only care about dumbing down humanity for exploitation, which is a violation of freewill of true evolution. Though this is not the "Great Circle Calculation" and when it comes to cosines as in the actual formula as opposed to looking for values on a table or a calculator it is much of an improvement over the methodology that is a slaves way of production. Automation is a slaves way of doing things, and perceptually it is seen as making things go easier when in reality we are learning less then our ancestors and therefore human society can not advance in any meaningful way. Thank you for the presentation.

James Hines your comment is really wow me! I guess you are a professional in this field! Great to know these knowledge from you! thank you so much, I am just a math teacher, although I do realise that everything is auto nowadays, but my job is teaching students from fundamental. And I also think that basic is somehow important when we need to go deep. =)

I don't really get some things explained in the video. I have to determine the distance between to point on earth (assuming the earth is a perfect sphere). I can decide the 2 points but I never get a right answer after calculating everything out..

    Say that G(35 N, 60 W).
Calculate the shortest distance, in nautical mile, from G to the North Pole measured along the surface of the earth.
How do I tackle a question like this?
