I am not complaining. I am genuinely interested to know, if there is a way to play Gondor against Rohan and have a chance of winning. Realistically, what can Gondor do against Rohan ? Rohan is better at every stage of the game. Early game peasants rush. Cheaper stable and cavalry. Mid game horimim archers, who are hard to catch almost impossible even if Rohan player knows how to play. And late game, OVERHELWMING amount of Leadership + Ents. Rohan doesn't even need to go for siege specifically . When you finally corner enemy back to their castle, just spawn trees from Councils and done deal. What can Gondor do against this ?

If Gondor recruits Gandalf and got rohirrim and eagles summons they can beat rohan. Eagles + gandalf can delete rohan heroes, but you need to be fast. I think in early game you need to spam gondor knights and rush Gandalf before Rohan get Aragorn. And of course Boromir is very important to knock down heroes. If you kill Theoden and Eomer they lose much of their leadership

i definitely think there’s a skill gap between rohan and gondor. in my opinion, gondor is much more difficult to play, especially with how hard it can be to level fara/boro for leadership and micro-ing squishy gandalf while rohan just feels like a ticking time bomb.

@@silinef8279 Yeah. I see what you mean. But in order for that to happen, Rohan player must make some kind of huge mistake or just be too slow. For instance. Game starts. Peasants rush Gondor farms from all sides, slowing down Gondor economy. Gondor soldiers try to defend at least 1 farm. Against incoming waves of armed peasants Gondor has 2 soldier battalion only and won't have more unless Gondor builds barracks. Building barracks is of course a huge slowdown for Gondor but without barracks, Gondor economy will be nonexistent. Building barracks + slow economy might make Gondor more able to counter peasants but in the meantime Rohan starts building stable. At this point in time, even casual Rohan player should have significant map control + stable on the way while Gondor on the other hand is fighting hardcore survival just to keep economy going. Now comes bigger issue. First battalion of Rohan Cavalry hits the field and Gondor finds itself completely defenseless. Yeah ok, Gondor can go early Faramir to counter cavalry but what then ? Gondor has no mobility. No knights, no farms outside castle. Gondor won't even be able to camp lol. You see my point ? If Gondor pushes through peasant invasion phase of the game and does for Gondor knights, economy will be super weak. If Gondor goes for Barracks, Gondor will maintain some form of income but will fall behind and get cornered. I have seen SOOO MANY Gondor vs Rohan replays and one constant thing that does not change is that Gondor always gets rekt UNLESS Rohan is either too slow or make some huge mistakes. Everything you just said is already late game situation. And reaching that phase of the game is what seems nearly impossible for Gondor.

@@deltaforcebhdlunaticc9922 i absolutly agree with you, rohan has way stronger early game because of those points you have mentioned. What Gondor can do, well i think i would send one batalion with hobbit to attack rohan farm, and another leave to protect own farm. With elven wood soldiers are way stronger than peasants and you can use that while attacking opponent farm. I know it's effective only until rohirrim arrives, but it can buy you some time to get own stable and rush Gondor knights. My point is to move fights to rohan side of the map to buy time for economy to grow. While you get Gondor knights you can go for upgrades a little bit faster than rohan so it might help in 1vs1 situation. Unfortunately rohan is really strong with map control i agree. But once you keep pressuring his farms by your cavalry you can buy time to get post with towers and get discount on Gandalf. I think the key is micro management with your gondor knights and creeping. Once you will get Gandalf you can easily pressure rohan army. Once you get eagles you can beat them.

it is. i only came back recently in campaign and i was shocked at how low it was. but then again only way i was able to do minas tirith rework. annoyed the f out of me

i hate gondor, always support any other faction when i see gondor playing
