    East texas here also. Really nice setup. Had a tree fall on my house a couple weeks back. Such a pain. Nice post.

    The Lego example is a good analogy to how it really does work. Because you can try putting together a Lego set without the included pictogram manual that comes with the set. The good news is that the Lego set does come with the manual. Likewise, the inverter system in modern times now comes with the easy to follow manual in most cases and also the plethora of RUclips channels that help people walk through the settings, etc. so it really does compare to a Lego set, you can build whatever you want and there’s plenty of information to get it built even if you’re a first timer.

    You got it going on there. Great Job. I'm East TX also. Few miles north of Longview. Nit sure where you are. Been working on my energy independence no where near as far as you. But doing as finances allow. Have to of the solar mini splits installed and have solar to them as well as a couple solar generators and 4 gas generators and over 350 gallons of fuel. So won't ever be caught flat footed again. Still have a long way to go. But will get there. Thanks for the video..... Jeff

    Nice work man! I don't think I will ever be done lol. My system needs about 200kwh for my crowd and maybe 40kw solar array it seems sometimes. But I have a good start with the 85kwh and 16kw array.

    So, I’ll be real curious how this system works long-term with high power compressors (like AC units) on your high frequency inverters. Those don’t typically work well with high frequency inverters. Low frequency inverters (like Victron) are usually much better for those - and can do everything the high frequency inverters can do.

    I got an EG4 battery and panels and want to but more system parts and get something set up. However I cant find anyone to help install a set up here in Trinity County. Do you recommend anyone?

      @EastTexasHomestead  28 дней назад +1

      At the moment, I don't know any installers. I'd love to put a list together. I've also considered doing a workshop at some point for people to see it done in real life. Stay posted to hear when we do.

    You should think about propane or kerosene for heat. Save battery power. Even a tankless water heater.

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  28 дней назад

      Good advice. I’ve got quite a few videos on propane heat. It’s one of my favorites. 👍🏼 I need to look further into tankless water heaters. I used to have one running on natural gas when we lived in the city.

    Help! Lol. I watch all the channels and I feel I'm missing something or nobody says it. @ 4:58 "refrigerator 1000w" so is that 1k x 24 hours = 24,000? Or just 1000w? If it's 1k per hr then your batteries would need to carry 24kw correct? (Minus solar input) This is where I get confused! 😅

    • @EastTexasHomestead
      @EastTexasHomestead  28 дней назад

      Sorry for the confusion. That’s only while the compressor is running. It will cycle on and off all day. Just like our well pump that uses 5000 watts, it only turns on a dozen times a day or so and only for a few minutes at a time. One thing you can do is purchase an electric usages monitor plug to see how much each unit uses per day. Plut this thing into the wall behind your fridge and then plug your fridge into it. You will be able to see how many kWh/day as well as it max power draw at startup. They’re about $10 on Amazon. This one looks pretty good. amzn.to/3L9uvRe (affiliate link) I hope this helps. Let me know if not.
