    Absolutely love your reviews. Completely addicted to your channel. One nit -- I prefer when you used to walk through your Flip Flop score with commentary. Minor nit. Great job, Kevin.

      I’m certainly taking note of it. Truth of the matter is not many people stick around for that detailed spoken score. This way I thought a happy medium and although it’s quicker it actually has more details in it. Will be testing it out until Bali content starts later this month. After that, who knows 😂 Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻

    Great Review, as usual. Best Reviews on RUclips in my opinion. I am glad i wasn't the only one who thought something was wrong with the overall impression of the hotel. My recommendation book instead THE ONE Barcelona. Same area, but felt warmer and the service was superb.

      Thanks very much for the kind words. The One was on my original list for BCN… perhaps I’ll have a go next time I’m in town. Also have a review of the Edition out on Wednesday and a review of the Majestic coming sometime in December I think haha. Too much content in queue 🙂 Thanks as always for watching 🙏🏻

      @@tfft I can't wait. We need to see more content (Hotels just for me). For our first Bangkok visit I just booked the Kimpton Maa-Lai and the Four Seasons Bangkok as a result of your great reviews, pointing out so many details for a great stay.

      Hope you have a great time! Can’t imagine not at those hotels tbh. I’ll be at The Standard, Kempinski Sindhorn and Okura Prestige in Bangkok in September. Always look forward to Bangkok trips!

      Would you pick The One over Edition? I stayed at Edition before and was thinking of trying out something else this time.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад

      I loved the Edition but I found it poor value for the size of the room, so I’d probably lean towards trying The One. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds non tamper proof containers a bit unsettling. Being old enough to remember the 'Tylenol murders' of '82, I am conditioned to think of hermetic sealing as a good thing. Thanks as always for the well-produced and thoughtful productions and content.

      In the past 18 months while filming for this channel I’ve had two occasions where I suspected the products had been tampered with and once occasion where without a shadow of a doubt I know it had been tampered with. My practice is to hold the bottle to the light to make sure inside is all the same consistency if the bottle is transparent and then pump the bottle into the drain around 10 times. Sad but true. Thanks very much for watching 🙏🏻

      @@tfft It's interesting that in the age of prolific litigation that hospitality corporations are willing to run the risk of lawsuits from contaminated or adulterated products. I'm not much of a fan of single use products but there is a reason for such things in these cases. I guess 'travel safe' is a fitting pleasantry for us all!

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +1

      Yup, agree. Have seen plenty of clever bulk container designs that would prevent all but the most determined from messing around with them… and tbh, far too many properties reuse ‘single use’ products also so just need to be mindful no matter where you are.

    Thanks for the review. I didn't love the hotel, although the roof top area was nice. With confusing credits and aggressive employees, I think I'll choose somewhere else when I eventually get to Barcelona.

    Very good video You took your time to film each aspect of the places that you visited within the hotel.. I would have liked to see more of the shower. Did it have a full closed door or one of those half glass enclosures that get the floor totally wet. As for the hotel , as per your review, I think I will pass on this property. Thanks for the video.

    Nice review - again. Only 8 hangers and too much tech in the room but I like this hotel and would happily stay there. Food looked good.
    P.S. I'm not a great fan of hotel credits or resort fees.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +1

      Resort fees I understand… but if you can get a hotel credit for the same rate as another site without the credit… I’d say it’s a win win :) That’s why I book with AMEX FHR quite often. Their rates are usually comparable to other booking sites but you get loads of ‘freebies’.

    I have a question about the products in bulk containers: have you heard of, or had experience with, tampering leading to injury?

      I've seen suspected tampering- but never knew of any injury.

    As I have commented before, because I watch your excellent videos on my smart TV using Roku, I cannot learn how much you paid, etc. without looking them up on another device, which I do not bother with. Apparently RUclips Studio permits you, as creator, to review how your viewers are watching your videos and will tell you what percentage are viewing on a smart t.v. If that percentage is high (your definition), you might want to start including cost in your main videos again. I miss the detail. Thanks.

      Hey there- yes I remember and actually your comment was one of the reasons why I moved the info from the “pinned comment” to now in the main body of the description. The comments I do agree you can’t access easily through a smart TV, but the main descriptions I am able to see by hitting the info (“i”) button on my remote. My apologies if it’s still not possible with your devise!

      Agree. I like to watch on my tv but need to use the iPad to access the info. Minor thing in the scope of the content. So enjoy it. Got up today in a lot of pain and rewarded myself with the rest of the India playlist after I had done what I needed to do. It is hard for me to adjust to the ambiance of modern European decor after watching the Leela vids.

    When mentioning the window, there's no air condition?
    Another thing, I don't think there should be a toilet brush in a hotel room.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +2

      Sure, of course there’s air conditioning- just mentioning that some may choose to sleep with the windows open as Barcelona has almost year round spring time weather. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    My all time favourite aggressive Hotel employee was checking out of the Bali Dynasty Hotel in Kuta a trashy "all inclusive" Hotel full of loud and obnoxious drunk Australians, long story short they hit me up with a AUD $25 charge for removing the mini bar items from the fridge during my stay which l dutifully replaced inside prior to my departure, apparently l had to pay to use the fridge in the room as it was only for mini bar items and not to be used for my kids formula or ice packs. As l refused to pay they refused to revoke the $500 hold on my credit card!! A month later still no action from their end so l ended up doing a dispute with my bank to get it returned! It sure does leave a sour taste and lesson learnt l pay cash as my holding deposit in Bali👍

      Perhaps one small silver lining post-C… I was just at 9 resorts in Bali and most all have empty fridges now 😂

    Just finished my one night stay here this past Monday. Very mixed feelings about this property. The hard product is absolutely gorgeous, and very modern. In retrospect however, it was more beauty without much practical substance, but I'll give them credit for the design. Very beautiful. However I did find the soft product to be absolutely horrendous. Check-in was probably the worst check-in experience I've had (including Fairfields and Courtyards...), and they even tried upselling me to their terrace suite when I asked them for an upgrade (they only upgraded us to a bigger room). When room was finally ready they completely forgot about our luggages too. Terrible service experience overall.
    and for whatever reason the FHR dining credit was only 87 Euros... when $100 USD = 100 Euros at the time of my stay. I did plan on using it on the tasting menu at the Virens but with this reduced amount, decided to order a la carte and while the food wasn't bad, the portions were small and way too expensive for what it was. Their breakfast was pretty great though (minus the chicken sausage....).
    all in all, probably would not be looking to stay at this property again. Even when booked through FHR with the $200 plat credit, the $100 dining credit seems worthless here.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  2 года назад +1

      Hotels in the FHR program are more or less free to set their own exchange rates. When I was there I was given 78€ while the EDITION for example gave me the exact rate which was in the high 80s. Tbh I think it’s something AMEX needs to work on. They’ll never be able to enforce a specific exchange rate across the board so the benefit at time of booking should reflect the actual value (in € or whatever currency) you’ll receive.
      Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

      @@tfft I've heard of some positive DPs of people calling in to get things compensated if hotels pull this off. EDITION gave me 95 Euro which I wasn't going to complain about but 87 Euro I'm def calling into AMEX for.
