- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the all new 2012 Ford Focus Titanium Hatchback. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I’m 21 and I just bought a brand new 2017 Focus. I love it! It doesn’t have as much power as I would like, but it has quite a bit more than the average compact car.
The best small family car your money can buy, Titanium or the ST. Awesome interior, wrapped in technology and great design.
Damn the Focus has come along way!!
I just bought a 2014 Focus Titanium. They haven't changed much since 2012 -- looks like they didn't really need to. The MyFordTouch system has had a couple of upgrades since then, so mine doesn't quite look like the one in this video -- but I'd imagine that's just software, which could be uploaded to a 2012 or 2013 model easily. And I heard complaints about the PowerShift automated manual transmission in 2012, but none since then, so I'm guessing Ford must've fixed whatever problems those were having. My 2014's PowerShift transmission is excellent, thus far.
It's really amazing how well-built it feels, and how NOT cheap it feels. Here in America, we've been so used to car companies cutting corners in their smaller cars, making us think that ALL small cars are cheap and crappy. That perception is going to change if car manufacturers continue to release smaller cars like this one. It's so quiet and luxurious on the inside, it really feels like a much more expensive car. If you're in the market for a new car, and don't absolutely need something large to haul 7 people around, I highly recommend test-driving one of these with the Titanium package.
Still have the car? hows it holding up?
I traded it for an EcoBoost Premium Mustang Convertible. A buddy of mine sells cars and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. ;-)
Any update’s?
I drive a 2012 focus titanium very similar to this one but it has the the black and dark red interior which I kinda prefer over the plain white but that's just my prefrence. I love how the car drives it feels smooth and drives very nicely!!
I have one, they are just arrived in Brazil. It's a hell of a car for our standarts... Here it has a 2.0Lt flex fuel (gasoline and/or ethanol) engine (175cv gas or 178cv ethanol). All the rest is pretty much the same, minus the two color tone interior (wich I find a bit over) Great and beautiful car!

For anyone still looking, you should know the rear seats actually lay flat. You have to have to pull up the seat part and then the backs will lay all the way down flat. Lots of room. And the hatchback has more headroom in the back.
Very nice car. I drove a rental Focus from LA to Vegas with my two teenage kids for a weekend and it worked great. The only issue is the back seats are fairly cramped. I wouldn't want to spend much time back there, but it's a great car otherwise.

That line cracked me up "Amazing musical power" lol
Best car ever! (in this price)
Looks like a great car. Nice looking inside and out, lots of great features. Only downside is the lack of speed and horsepower, but I think most people won't care about that.
Yep I agree, just picked up my 2012 Mazda 3 sport Skyactiv 2 weeks ago, has everything I need power sunroof, HID's, Leather heated seats/mirrors. Such a great car, my first brand new car and it drives so nice and looks absolutely stunning in person.
Over 10 years ago I was thinking of getting another Ford Focus back in 2012 shortly after my car accident. I ended up with a 2011 Mercury Milan. Even in late March 2017 still kind of wanted a Ford Focus as an option but, I went towards a 2015 Ford Escape SE. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black. I used to have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES trim level. It was a good little car till I was in an accident in early March 2012. I suffered a broken left ankle and about 3 bruises. It is kind of sad there is no more of making that little car anymore. I still liked Ford Fusion and even the C-Max,too.
Ford continues to produce better and better products each year. Keep up the good work Ford!
i never been big fan of 4 door hatchback but this car look amazing, i would get it!
Just got this car, video was amazing! Thanks for the detailed review, spot on
man if this was the tuxedo black with chrome accents it would be EXACTLY how i would get this car
This particular Focus Titanium has the Arctic White Interior Style Package. You can also get a Tuscany Red Interior Style Package.
i hv hatch titanium with all black interior, handling package, sunroof and winter package but didnt opt for parking sensors and navigation. i think the parking stuff are really not needed for those small cars like this and navi is better to use a tomtom or garmin instead of the ford one, i heard thats a bit laggy. the handling package firms the car a bit and cornering is good, engine and the dual clutch are good for in town and the dry clutch dont lose any engine power when shift. no complaints at all for this car. the car is not quick enough tho.if st with a dual clutch, i ll choose it. interior is very good and comfy, but 3 5'11 adults will not fit in the back, the back middle seat is too hard to seat on it. if u r on the trip with 2 large luggages, u can stack them up, but then theres no place for the trunk cover if u hv passenger in the back....
this is probably the sleekest design for a hatchback that ive seen.
I bought the Focus Titanium 5 spd manual transmission. EPA rating 26/38. It will get 38 MPG on the freeway with the cruise set at 75 MPH and low 30s MPG in the city. It easily exceeds the EPA ratings for the manual trans. Caveat; You must shift the transmission a lot and keep the engine below 3000 RPMs. If you drive in a more "spirited" manner gas mileage will decrease, of course.
My friend has this car. Im not big on fords......but the body role in this thing is almost none!!! Great little car.
MAN AMERICA, you sure do make great cars. Look at that exhaust... 2:07... SO stylish.
Kyle is always lucky to have awesome songs during his videos.
I love the fact that it parks itself
Let's talk about the Transmission 🤣🤣🤣👌
Luke Davidson no its not, not in my 2016 titanium hatchback
The new Focus is a brilliant automobile.
Ford has truly risen from the ashes.
Almost have enough money to buy this pup! I am very glad ford waited to rerelease the hatchback in the US. It's well worth the wait.
Don't know about those rims but the car and the video is awesome!
Saw one of these the other day, really caught my eye. Ford is definitely going in the right direction.
There is a key inside the key fob. You have to take the top part off.
You can find hundreds of reviews that will all tell you the same thing about the driving dynamics, or better yet you can go test drive it yourself for free. These reviews give you much more information than most others do, and show the car in a level of depth that others just don't.
I picked up My Australian version 2012 Ford Focus two weeks ago, very similiar but we don't get the 8" screen, other that virtually identical, mine is panther black, so far very impressed with the car, i've done a couple of thousand kilometres in it already and it's a very comfortable, quiet and solid car to commute in, the gearbox seems to always pick the right gear and doesn't hunt about like many of these self shifters do. Good solid car and worth a look if you're after a premium hatch.
I'm not much of a Ford guy, but this looks really nice! I'm very impressed!
yea the 2009 to 2011 models but the 2012 have the software update and it runs like a charm i cant wait to get the new 2013 Ford Fusion
holy heavy flywheel batman! That thing holds on to revs like grim death.
Wow what a sweet looking car. A dual clutch transmission too? Nice
Overall, the Focus-as an economy car- is an excellent value for what you pay and what you get. Excellent quality and sound deadener. The quietest and most comfortable of all my vehicles to ride in, plus premium Sony sound.
Of course it's pricey if you want all the bells and whistles. Honda did the same thing with the Civic when the Fit was introduced (Civic is no longer the smallest car, so it no longer has the smallest price). If you can "live" without all the extra features, the car is priced really well. The build quality of the car (IMO) is fantastic, the engine with the 5 speed manual is quite a bit of fun, and the sync system works well for me. No need for nav, have it on my phone.
I sure loved my 2012 Sterling Grey Ford Focus SE 4 Door Sedan with Overdrive. Also, I loved my fiance's 2011 Silver Frost Ford Focus SE 4 Door Sedan, too.
This year of car is cheap now time to go buy one
Totally agree. I just bought a 2012 se which of course has less features but it's in great shape with 58k on it for $7500. I got the manual transmission which I would advise on these as the powershift transmissions have some known problems. So far I love mine though, I've put 10k miles on it in 9 months and haven't had any real complaints thus far.
I really like the shine of this metallic paint.
And I can see a few of the last big Lincolns in the background :).
That's the same color i want for Ford Focus 2012. Hopefully to get after High School:D
@MrJaxreid
You can actually build a Focus with both the premium audio system and Navigation. The premium sound system comes by default with the Ford My Touch system so there's no way to skip that option if you add Navigation. I think it was a website error, I just configurated a 2012 Hatchback on Titanium trim and I got no warnings about getting navigation and premium sound system together.
Excellent review, you did a great job reviewing this car. Thanks it was very helpful.
I love the rally look of the car.
This car is nice car, i'm learning to drive in the basic version of this car
It's nice that the auto park feature is available for $400. It's quite a nice feature, I just wish it is a option for a Chevrolet cruze or even the new 2013 impala.
That is an impressive sound system! It sounds like I am playing music on my computer.
I have a 12 same car but manual trans/moon roof/18 “ wheels with handling package. 160k on her and zero problems. I call her my escape pod because she so small. I commute a lot so smart for me. Still only 33mpg. That said i am middle aged so I drive aggressively as she lets at times. I also have a 2010 F150 that is my workhorse around my 8 acres here in Calaveras County CA and my 92 Mustang GT drop top that I am restoring ( no smog test required in my county ) hehehe 351W/C going in the Fox.
My other vehicles are -'04 Chevy pick-up 4X4 -'87 Nissan Stanza (junk, but runs) -'65 Mustang restomod -Harley-Davidson Softail -Suzuki DR-Z400 Enduro bike.
the interior of this cars are really nice...
I want this car with the Maroon seats!
I like the look of the focus. For me a car needs to look good inside and outside. The front and rear needs to look good too. Lots of cars look great from the front OR the rear but not both.
80's on 8 at 10:23 is all I listen to in the car :D
Gotta love Fords new quality levels!
the panda black and white interior is neat
My Neighbors 2012 Ford Focus SE Sport(same wheels) just had one of the two cams seize up and cause a bunch of problems. New crate engine is getting installed.
For 2012 this thing has more technology than my bmw.
I like the look of lots of these American fords! I wish the focus would come in 2 tone leather in England! :(
That color is beautiful.
That is a gorgeous car. I want one... I WANT 1 NAO.
@luisinhoens90 you are correct, it is more powerful but it is heavier, but the 5spd Manual (which is the one i bought) in the accord felt more sporty, It has got a better sport tuned suspensions, bigger interior, better looking but then again some people may disagree with that but you are correct. It is in another segment, but here in Canada the price of a fully loaded focus was almost the same as my EX coupe, which has all the options that this focus has minus the nav
I'm buying one of these as soon as I get back from Afghanistan :-)
That car looks MEANNN.
Here in the UK we have the same model, although I dont think that the navigation unit is like that. But I love where the handbrake and gear stick is. Perfect positioning
Such a nice car. I saw a new one at the ford dealer today and they are super nice. I cant decide if i want an all decked out Focus, or a plane jane mustang.
love the look with the black wheels
The turn signals sound like horses walking down the street lol
It's like a porche design. beautiful!
I really like this car.
great little car, I was considering buying one of these, but the lack of power made me choose a 2011 accord coupe instead :)
Excellent review although im not sure if im down with this new smart key access thing...its adding to the price of the car and is just something to go wrong.
I have a ford focus titanium hatchback.2011. Which i have only has done 5,186.kms And i love thes car I am form AUSTRALIA
My is a 2.oLiter Diesel aotom. And i cannot fealt this car it is [EXCELLENT ]
@sleepersown Ford makes very good cars these days. yes they use to have a bad reputation but the new cars they are making are very good quality.
love the color and wheels.. I've owned a car that color and it looks clean the longest. Body looks awesome but if looked 2 door by not having visible door handles on rear doors... mayb just having a 3rd door on passenger side. Also, hatchbacks rule, but would be great if in place of hatchback, a fold down tailgate and retractable rear window so you could drive with rear cargo open.
Quality walk around of this car. Nice job thanks
I wouldn't mind getting an SEL or Titanium model..but I would never get the MFT..but that Sony system looks sweet.
Blech! That darned push-button start! :P
A 2013 built model yes, but it doesn't change anything to the fact that the Ford Focus is the 2011 model which for now is not changing for a couple of years before they decide to do a small facelift.
it would be cool, if they had a manual trransmission version, it would make it more sportier, and i would consider buyin one if i ever got the money
Thunderstorms on October 2011. Interesting!!
2008-2010 Focus Coupe!!!!! do it man!
@gohvaan
This car definitely doesn´t lack power. It´s got more power than most other compact cars and many road test have proved that it's faster than most competition. The 5spd manual is a better choice to get all the juice from the engine but most people choose the 6spd auto so can't blame Ford.
BTW: An Accord coupe is other segment and sure it´s got more power but also heavier. I wouldn´t say there would be lots of improvements in performance over the Focus, specially if you chose a 4cyl.
Great Video Kyle. I really want this Car now. I have a focus now but it doesnt have anywhere near as many features as this one does. I like the new look of the Focus.
It's funny how the Focus in America gets engines with techniques that have been in use for over 5 years now in Europe.. :P
The All-New Focus "Drive One."
I LOVE those wheels!
Love your reviews, Guess I'm a fanatic of your reviews.... Can't help myself
My dad owns the car now, that’s In the video, it’s in my driveway in SC
Such an impressive car!! +1 for Ford!
Due to a problem with my order (Fords problem, not mine) I had to re-order my car from scratch and the dealer confirmed that my new replacement "order" was going to be a 2013 model as opposed to the previous order, which was a 2012 model
Cool reviews as usual mate... thx for sharing...
@rickrossthebosz Yes but we don't pay 9 bucks for a gallon of gas. So the European versions have to be more efficient because of those fuel prices. As far as power is concerned, not everyone is looking for a "fast" economy car. Most Americans own more than 1 car, so the Focus would be more of a commuter car and for our cheaper fuel prices it does just fine in terms of mileage.
@sleepersown yeah i got rid of bias a long time ago. really only thing i dislike are chrysler fwd vehicles of later years.
Depends what country and engine choice. The top model is kind of pricey for a new Ford, but you can buy them one year used for very reasonable prices.
I wish all of Ford's Manuals had Diesel engines.
that f250 lifted at 0:27....
Wow, good job ford!! This car looks great! So sporty. Im 16 and id love it. maybe supercharged though
Great review. I bought a Sterling Gray Titanium hatchback almost identical to this one except for the color upgrade to the leather and auto parking feature and I got the moonroof. Apart from that, they are the same including the wheels which I really like. Even though I've been driving it since March, I learned some new things watching your review. Thanks you much for the time and quality of your review. Best, Andy K.
