X4 Foundations: 7.0 Beta 7 - Messing up a missile destroyer test

- Hello everybody,
In this one I wanted to test a destroyer build with missile turrets.
Since I could not find suitable targets in the immediate vicinity, I went searching for xenons in their "home".
But, I kinda forgot that I have really strong xenon. :P
Notes: went with heavy cluster missiles because I wanted a kind of "universal" missile, and I've heard that the light version don't do squat.
About me:
I like to share my X4 Foundations experiences, some because they are really amazing, some because they are really anoying.
Like the video? Why not buy me a coffee?

lol omg, you were like F it, teleport and sell the ship before it dies?? lmao, I going to remember that little trick for sure.
if your engines are about to be blasted, try pressing ctrl+space to be able to keep your momentum into the gate ;)
Good tip, ty.
I use that all the time with my Capitals, they even you teach you that in the tutorial.
@@user-ip6wq7vr7m 4.836 hours on Steam, still have not finished the tutorial. 😁🤪
@@ragnos28 lol, it's real brief when the tell you that trick, I forgot myself but recently rediscovered it, trust me, using it with capital ships or any ship is a life saver and fun lol.
"Captain this is Engineering, we have a bit of a problem down here!"
Like a lamb to the slaughter😁
Man, I am super jealous of your Xenon - do you have the seed number for that saved game? I want to try generating a custom game with that seed #.
The save started in 4 version or something, before the great xenon nerfing, that seem to happen with every new version.
Don't have the skill to "read" the save file, but I can provide you with the save prior to beta, when it was still in 6.2, and maybe extract the info you need from there:
drive.google.com/file/d/1fQYZ1Ph__jWfSvD20ocOtp3DOfGBdkt6/view?usp=drive_link
Seed: 3122518538
Here is the line in the save:
game id="X4" version="620" build="511811" modified="0" time="5187254.583" code="15801759" original="400" originalbuild="0" start="x4ep1_gamestart_terran1" seed="3122518538" guid="34CA6935-B164-4E76-878E-4EFF238CE366"
I am still not sure which of the missiles would be the best on destroyers. Unlike the Asgard, destroyers and carriers have not enough cargo for them. The best missile should defend against S,M,L should have a nice range and good dmg😂. I think i would take light missiles....i dont know....i only see dump station destroyer or light AA
PS: light disruptor missiles are great, i began to like them while doing venture beta
I gave up on the concept, because we can't select the ammo used, in case we have multiple missiles type, AA and anti capital for example.
Plasma on Ls and flak on Ms will remain the meta for destroyers for a long time.
Yes, missiles that can go 180m/s are not really good at shooting down fighters :)
Scatter are fun against K/I but you need to get close.
(also those were heavy swarm not cluster)
Yeah, my mind was set on cluster missiles, my bad. 😋
I wanted a missile type that I can use against fighters and capitals, and since, afaik we cant select just one type of ammunition, so I can't rotate between AA and anti capitals missiles... I had imagined they would work like the Poltergeist missiles in X3TC, but was not the case. 🤔
Either way, I think missiles destroyers are an evolution dead end for my combat style, even if they would work, rearming them would be too much of a hustle for me.
@@ragnos28 Yes, imho they are dead end - and not only for your gamestyle :)
Recently inspired by missiles test by "Immi" guy I tried to refit them... oh my :/
- light swarm/guided/smart are cool against swarms but use ammo insanely fast
- heavy scatter does serious damage but have low range
Seriously, Im gonna refit them to all plasma + 100 laser towers. Maybe even remove main battery for tests :)
Sooo... what did we learn today? 🤕
Well, I will say that:
1. Just because you got your first destroyer, does not mean that you are an invincible god of war that will bring the end of Xenon.😁 With skill, you will be able to begin to matter against capital ships, but large swarms will kick your butt.
2. Flak will remain the best AA turret in the game, no substitute for it atm.
