  • Craig Beals shows to make a small-scale dust explosion inside a paint can to model the catastrophic effects of a massive dust explosion in a grain silo, sugar refinery or coal mine. A dust explosion requires 5 components, each of which is provided in this demonstration using corn starch or lycopodium powder

    With calcium carbide you can also let a paint can explode with water and fire.
