My fren teach me "putang*na" she said it means "nice to meet you". I use dat as nice to meet you for 2 days till someone pointed that its not what it means😭
I remember someone who talked about how it's actually good to include learning bad or swear words first when you're learning a new language. You don't necessarily need to say them, it's just better that you know. Because you don't know how people talk about you in a foreign place so once you hear some bad or swear words from them, you'll know to just ignore them the next time you see them. Or be savage like saying you understood what they said. I don't know if you guys understand what I meant but-yeah. I'm not sure if this connects well with the clip above but I'll be glad if you read this and take home some of what I said. :>
If you ask a Filipino to teach you Filipino words, there's a high chance that they'll troll you so don't immediately go around saying the words you just learned 😂
No, this is just Filipino culture LOL we always teach non-Filipino speaking relatives bad/inappropriate words as a prank because everyone knows they were taught wrong and they won't get in trouble with it but their embarrassment after finding out later is so worth the scolding we get afterwards
@@CharleneOcampo13 pretty sure that goes for any country someone visits to, if it's their friend or close aged relative~ which is pretty normal now lol~
Sometimes I feel bad for doing this to my non-Filipino speaking relatives, like, they're at a disadvantage. They can't teach me inappropriate English words because I'm an ESL teacher and I probably already know it, but I can teach them something bad in Filipino and they won't even know right away because other people won't tell them and you can't always find the right translations online LOL

If you're a foreigner and you had filipino cousins, never ask them to teach you tagalog 🤣 bec. 70% of it would be curses or vulgar words. This is the culture 🤣
