I prefer the OG Scorch Voice, than Dee Bradley Baker since I think Scorch’s voice gives us a perspective on his personality. A humorous one, with a huge heart for explosives
I agree. I’ve heard some argue Scorch would sound too goofy in Bad Batch if they kept the OG voice but I think this video shows that he could’ve still sounded like Scorch while remaining serious for some scenes
@@andrews05 wouldn't people ask why there's a clone with a different voice (who is not a 99)? Those who don't know the character from the game would think is a recruit with clone armor lol
@@granalmirantethrawn2972 that’s a fair point. I think a workaround is to say that either Delta Squad was genetically modified. Not to the extent of clone force 99 but more than regular commandos and it effected their voices. Another way could be that Delta has helmet filters that change their voice like Vader or death troopers. Since Delta is a special ops unit and require constant communication and teamwork, having unique voices via helmet filters would make it easier to tell who’s talking without having to look at their huds.
While I would like to hear the OG voices, I feel like it made more sense for the game that they had their own voices to distinguish them more. But as an outsider looking in perspective, it would be weird to have his OG voice because people would assume he's just a non-clone wearing commando armor.
As for my in-universe speculation for why they have different voices, I like to think that the clones actually hear each of their brothers differently from how non-clones hear them.
Not everyone played Republic Commando, and people would find the voice change off putting if they used the original.
"Six-two here Deltas. Lock and load, we're going on a hunt."

I really wish they kept Scorchs original voice. Seeing him this quiet and this similar to the rest of the commandos is actually very concerning. It makes it seem like he ditched his love of explosives and heavy weapons willingly. Plus, it makes me wonder if im even looking at Scorch at all

@@pale_lad1252 in some regards, that's true but it's been months since the purge. Other troopers are beginning to think for themselves and desert after seeing that what they are doing is wrong. Clones like Cody did and I would have thought the commandos and arc troopers would have come to their senses sooner as they are more independent and free thinkers
Remember, he's reporting a failure to his Commanding Officer so he's a little more serious
it really didnt make sense for his voice to differ so greatly from the other clones. so I don't dislike the change. but I do dislike the personality differences.

@@AlienIOIandroktone Only thing I could do is run DBB voice through the AI cloning. It can’t do accents so it’d give him an American accent and then id just heighten the pitch of his voice to be more like Scorch. Maybe I’ll try that out but currently there is no way to retain the accent.

Also, I get that the in-universe reason the Deltas have different voices is because the Clones would be able to notify the nuances in their seemingly identical voices, but it still would've been nice if Dee Bradley Baker had spoken with a less Māori accent that was a little more "up-beat" (OR we can chock it up to the Inhibitor Chips taking away their individuality)
(ALSO: Sev wouldn't be there; he was left behind on Kashyyyk (and I was REALLY hoping that he'd show up during the Gungi episode))

The software I used is called ElevenLabs AI. It’s really good because of the quality and you can clone whatever voice you want but it’s a paid program. Other free alternatives I recommend are FakeYou or Uberduck

Thank you! 😀 As for Sev, it's hard to tell. I feel since it was such a good opportunity to have Sev show up in the Kashyyyk episode and he didn't that maybe Sev never went MIA in canon. I think a lot of fans want to see all of Delta Squad back together and at this point in the show the odds of Boss and Fixer showing up AND the Bad Batch running into Sev separately is slim. So for the sake of fan service, I think if Delta does appear, Sev will probably be there too.
@@andrews05 Yeah, I was really hoping Sev would appear in Kashyyk, I still think he went MIA, just it is a big world, I do hope we see him join what will probably be coming soon based off of what we have, The clone rebellion
It all just begs the question of why didn't they use Fixer as the RC represent for this cartoon? His voice already fits the Imperial aesthetic.

The edit half of this was _hilarious_ - whether intentionally or otherwise. The eery, sinister music and dialogue from the episode are completely numbed by Scorch's voice and a few of his lines.

After seeing this I've changed my mind, Scorch's original voice can make it in these scenes without sounding too goofy.
But still, can't take it as a bad guy, more like a Cody/Howzer case, imperial clone with good intentions, but apparently that's not the case with Scorch, he is no acting as the good person he was at all.
Also, people who didn't play RC would get crazy wondering why a clone commando who isn't defective sounds like a conscripted recruit

Hmmm I played the original game back when I was a child, the fact the Delta members had different voices really fascinated me
When Delta Squad appeared in The Clone Wars I kinda understood why Boss was given the regular clone voice but now with the Bad Batch it feels as if they just didn’t care enough to give Scorch a different voice tone even though all the Bad Batch members do

That is AWESOME! Obviously they didn't want to pay anyone besides their usual go-to clone voice actor, and using AI without the original voice actor's permission probably would have been a legal dilemma, but... it's such a shame, seeing what's possible.
Thanks! Yeah but they could’ve hired Raphael Sbarge without needing to AI clone his voice. I think they were concerned of confusing people who hadn’t played the games with Scorch sounding different than the rest of the clones. But I can think of a couple workarounds that could’ve gotten away with keeping the OG voice
@@andrews05 Voice box defect. Two seconds of dialogue to explain it. Sometimes writers think too big for small solutions.
@@CameronKiesser yeah I had a similar thought. Could also have voice modulation for clone commandos to allow for easier communication between squad members. Given that communication is especially important for clone commandos during special operations.
@@andrews05 I was more on the line that his voice, the fleshy thing, was deformed. Gear would be updated if damaged

I think your idea of a voice defect would work but if the rest of Delta showed up, it would need to be explained why all of their voices are unique except for Boss. Even if they explained that Delta Squad is semi-defective and hence the unique voices, there would then need to be an explanation as to why Boss's voice is normal.

Personal head canon im adopting is the clones can hear differences in each others voices so he sounds differen to his bothers but to everyone else he remains the same
That doesn't have to be a head canon, in Legends (this is specifically mentioned in Karen Traviss' Republic Commando novels) clones sounds the same to most non-clones, but to each other they sound completely individual.
I do prefer Scorch's original Republic Commando voice, but him being voiced by Dee Bradley makes logcial sense in the Bad Batch for reason I don't think need explaining

AS much as i wanna hear OG Scorch's voice we're not seeing the the clones from an inside perspective like in Republic Commando. You are playing as Clone "Boss" therfore you, a CLONE, notice tiny differences in your "brothers" that other people won't. To us they all look and sound EXACTLY the same but to each other the clones are all unique and different. So now that we have an outside POV we don't hear scorch's original voice because we are no longer a clone ourselves but an outside viewer

It was so weird seeing CCs deployed at company level strength. It's like the US using delta force and navy seal operators for base security and other rear echelon tasks, but actually on US soil while the regs just mill about with nothing to do. Absolute insanity everyone would lose their minds if someone tried it.

That’s the only thing I don’t like about that game. They had Temuera Morrison as a voice actor but they didn’t use him for all the clones. And many of them don’t even attempt to sound like Temuera Morrison yet they are DNA exact replicas of Jango Fett Temuera Morrison. It was dumb then and it remains dumb now.
It was only done to distinguish which character was talking at what time, but it fits with how, in Legends, clones sounded pretty much identical to non-clones, but sounded completely different to each other.
In retrospect, why DID Delta squad each have unique voices if they're clones?

Okay so I have to ask. Why do all the clones sound like Jango fett? Only a small portion of them were trained by him personally. Then you have the commandos who were raised with mandalorian mercenaries and the regs. I would think there’d be more variations
It would make things a lot more interesting and would open up to a possible Delta Squad follow up but for the Empire perspective where they play it straight I don’t think it would’ve been a good fit. both are great though
I believe that boss fixer and sev were chosen for the experiments dark stomtrooper and scorch I don't have the theory that scorch has a depression and if his team is being used for those experiments he would feel sad for his team he has a major depression is a theory

@@andrews05 I'm a die-hard fan of the republic commando game. I haven't subscribed to Disney's service yet but I will consider it when they make more content with the delta squad. I want to reward the correct behaviour. XD until then I'll watch youtube clips over and over again. The bad batch themselves aren't really interesting to me.
