THE GREEN KILLING MACHINE

- I had a greenish hue to my tanks water and tried different things but nothing worked. until i bought the green killing machine. it is a uv filter, meaning it uses light to filter water. this video is 7 days of the affects of this filter.
Leaving the lights on also stresses the fish. They need a day/night cycle
I have just a 15 gallon so I bought the Mini Green Killing Machine. My tank had a white haze, probably suspended bacterial bloom and it only took one day to get rid of it. Now it's mostly clear. I didn't run it more than one day but based on this, I'd say the thing is just amazing.
R Ross agreed
wow.... bought one today. love your blue crawfish!
Cody McKinney he just passed away 2 weeks ago....😳
I saw this video yesterday, went out and bought one and put it in. Today, we are seeing progress. I couldn't even tell yesterday where my hubby placed it into the tank yesterday. Today, I can see the box where he placed it, so it's working already. We have a 24watt one for our 55g.
💪💪😉
Good video bud! I installed a GKM 9W in my 29gal long tank 5 days ago and my results are like yours. Difference is that there are many types (colors) of algae and mine made the water milky. I wasn't sure if it would work because I thought I had a Bacteria Bloom and not an Algae Bloom like you did. Good thing about the GKM is it addresses BOTH! Just to add, I did a 50% water change every other day and only fed my fish every other day during the process. And check your filter media because the filter will trap the algae and start to clog your media. For those that want to know, I do believe that the new models (2021) allow you to change the UV bulbs. Trick is that once the problem clears, UNPLUG IT to save the UV and only use it if it starts to get cloudy again. UV light "Supposedly" lasts 6 to 9 months. Thanks for the upload!!
Thank you for the tip of checking the filter. I too thought I had a bacteria bloom till a few days in, after at least 50% water changes every other day, the water began to turn green.
@@Ladybug19391 Sounds like you may have shocked the tank. Do less water changes and TEST the water to decide if a WC is even warranted!
@@sarge6870 Thanks, I did stop the water changes when I saw they weren't helping. I've been testing every other day to make sure the water is safe even though I heard algae blooms aren't dangerous to the fish. So far everything's good.
Thank you! I am buying one today. I love your blue crawfish. I had one named Francois. Miss that fella
Question when job is done do still have green killing Machine still in the tank or u could take it out? Or leave it in the tank?
I leave mine in the tank in case I need it in the future.
Hello I love your blue crayfish I want one too where did you get him
Also what does he eat
I bought one couple of days ago, and yup, it works.
Are you suppose to submerge the green killing machine under water ????
Very helpful video!!
Your poor plec is well pissed off good review 😷😷😁😁👍👍🇬🇧
😉👍😂
LOL Roger. Pleco thought it was a buffet!!!
Does the L piece (where the water is pushed back out) need to be completely submerged?
I saw a video where someone completely removed the L shaped tube so the water went straight up rather than causing a current that was too strong for their fish.
you have to many fish and big no no with that crayfish it's going to be a disaster when the fish start missing. .what kind of filter are you using and try adding some live plants. .and you can also buy replacement UV cartridges for that particular units you're replacing the whole plastic sleeve in the bulb I think they're anywhere from $25 to $30 dollars where you're at .
my cray fish is quite docile actually.
In my 75 gal i have a blue crawfish that is completly docile. She has in 5 months eaten 1 fish, and it had got in a fight night before (the fish)
Greetings
what would be the hours of daily use?
no way. fish tanks are my hobby too. I have a personal second channel for fishing and other how to vids. have a nice 180 gallon tank I have shown a few times
i have a 35gal bow front and a 75 gal normal tank. the bow front i had alot of issues with. since i got the green killing machine ive had zero algea problems aymore. as far as the tanks ,my daughter and i absolutely love the aquariums.
When you plugged it in, did you need to turn on any switches? Is there any way to know if the bulb is working properly?
IT has a light that comes on if running properly. if the light doesnt come on the bulb is out.
CLERICDRAGOON GAMING where is the light
@@nicholaswolf4186 It is small green light on a power box that does not go in the water.
Now I know what to get for my 75 gallon tank! I was wondering how is everyone keeping their tank so crystal clear and I set mine up the same way!!!!
Testing, Testing and more testing. So many things like algae, ammonia and others can make water cloudy!
Hey can I use that on my 265 gallon tank if I get a 24 Watt?
yes
christopher emata will it work as good?
yes i have a 150 gal. and im.. only using the 9 watt sterelizer and it worked perfect..i think a 24 watt on a 265 gal will do the same..
christopher emata awesome thank you
they have a larger one for big tanks, this thing works so well.
Does this filter replace all other Filters? Or is it an added filter?
Ronald Laflamme just an addition, u still need your other filtration.
Thanks for the quick reply. On my way in about 15 minutes to pick one up for my daughter's tank that is filthy green. I have tried many things, and nothing has worked...
Ronald Laflamme I tried many different ways but the green killing machine was the ultimate solution. my tank remains clear today.
So my question is, once left one for a week or two and the water clears, if I turn it off, how long will it take for the green water to return?
Depends on your environment. Try to only run your light source 8-10hrs. Keep the tank away from heat sources (sunlight and heaters like baseboard heating).
Is there much noise from these? Vibrations and stuff.tank is n bedroom and need silent like fluval u4,
deeceltic18881 nope , runs pretty quietly
CLERICDRAGOON GAMING thanks mate
Hi
What's the name of the 2 red Fisch pleas
Does UV lamp light up? Just got mine and UV lamp doesn’t light up Uhmm !!
jpthsd it lights up inside the case but u won't see it from outside
got it ...thank you - I read the manual, it said if the adapter LED is ON, that means the UV Lamp is working. Thank again!
jpthsd I love mine , it's still doing its thing today
I have 800 gallons pond , what is the best uv clarfier?
+Amer Joudeh not really sure, I just know this one worked well for my problematic 35 gal bowfront.
What is the smallest pink fish?
Comrade Starsky it's a neon tetra
My green killing machine has been running for 5 days and water is still just as green. Hmm. It's an 8 gallon tank. Wtf
Something is definitely wrong, I would say light in machine not working . Return for new one is what i would do.
Had the same problem. Returned it and ordered a new one..
@@emilygrech3655 how do you tell if the light isn’t working
@@Emily-mf7is I couldn't tell directly but after 7 days the tank was still the same so I exchanged it. The second one got the tank clear.
@@emilygrech3655 I’ve had mine in for 8 days the green is gone but now it’s all white any advice?
i bought this, identical water colour to you, mine has done nothing at all for days :(
Wow really, maybe you have a bad light in the UV filter.i would return for a new one
@@CLERICDRAGOONGAMING think i will as come to think of it the green light has never been on either, water pumps though
@@nolongermatters4671 it should work in less than 7 days but it depends on tank size and size of the green killing machine as well. I got the small version for a 35 gallon tank and it worked really well.
How did this video get so many views???
