This is a great idea! And I REALLY like what you write here: "I'm not aiming for ~ultimate efficiency~, I'm aiming for self-compassionate sustainability and enjoyment of my language learning." :)
I really enjoyed this video! Inspired by your instagram I did a mini-minimmersion yesterday. I really enjoyed it and would love to join you in May! :) Very much in to the sustainable and relaxed way of language learning. It is a fun hobby for me, not something I need to be strict or hard on myself about!!
omg YES this makes me so happy to hear!! I'm with you 100%, language learning is meant to be a source of joy when it's your hobby - we have to do everything in our power to keep it that way! I look forward to immersing with you in May~
Yessss I'm so glad to hear - I haven't checked it out yet but I definitely intend to. Perhaps having watched it as well will help me with a comprehension boost??
Active I watched (with Japanese subtitles) an episode of : Alice in Borderland Revisions Children of the Whales Good Morning Call I noted some interesting vocabulary and grammar but I resisted the urge to look into any deeper. Reviewed some vocabulary with Anki Passive Listened to an anime podcast on Sokoani
@@LeaflingLearns The story is wild. It's really good. Also, the Japanese is pretty easy to follow (After watching it with English subtitles , I watched with Japanese subtitles). Now, I'm using it to collect vocabulary and mine sentences but I still get caught up in the story.
Thank you! That's a really great question. Honestly, for the next couple of days I always end up having to take a break for a couple of days. I've found that living in extremes really doesn't work for me, so I need to take it back to more sustainable habits (like... less than 8 hours a day haha). After that little pause though, I'm always really amped to get back to using native content for my learning as much as possible. I'm not fully anti-textbook, but nothing compares to the excitement of learning through native material so I try to leverage that fun & enthusiasm as much as possible!!
Yes, as long as you're over 18! It's super fun and you'll be in time for another minimmersion next weekend!! Check out the link in my bio on either Instagram or Twitter for the invite link. I try not to advertise it too openly on RUclips.

Great vid!
How do you feel about studying in general after these mini immersion weekends?

Is the Discord open to everyone? Because watching a movie without subtitles in a discord chat sounds fun.

Do you want to live in Japan?
I'm not sure if I'd want to live there FOREVER, but I could definitely see myself living there for short periods of time or visiting frequently!
Are you an American?
アメリカ人の方ですか?
はい、Yes I am!
