Thank you so much to Aqara for sponsoring this video. Be sure to check them out. Which was your favourite HomeKit accessory from Aqara? I think I absolutely love the Curtain Driver!
Love Aqara stuff! The G3 can actually have tuck the lens away up into itself for privacy, I like this method because then if you access it in HomeKit it’ll automatically bring them down again 😀
Thanks Jack, what you need to do is create a scene in the Aqara app, then export it as a scene to HomeKit and setup an automation that when you leave the house it turns around. So you’ll need to program a pre defined position as well for the camera to turn to in the scene. Hopefully that makes sense?
@@ChrisWilmshurst Hi Chris, thanks for the reply! It seems when I create a scene like this and add it to HomeKit, it is unable to perform the task. For referece: I have 4 spereate scene's set for turninng the camera and activating/deactivating the privacy mode, these do not seem to cooperate when I try to set up the automation in HomeKit. Any chance you have a screenshot of how your scene's and automations are setup?
The fact Aqara insists on you using THEIR HUB, not supporting Matter over Thread instead of garbage like Zigbee is enough to make this entire video worthless to me, Sorry Chris.

Hi Chris, great video! How do you have the automation set to trun the camera away once your in the room? Can the E1 camera do this automation?

Hmmm what about the water leak sensor
That’s one I didn’t get unfortunately but there’s loads online about it

That’s a fair compromise Ethan and I can’t argue with your logic! I think Aqara are upgrading most of their products to be threads compatible.
Paranoide😂
