      Do you have a tip how to speed up this technique in particular and guitar playing in general?

    Great lessons Aodan. I am coming back to playing after a long gap. Needed something fresh to get my teeth into so decided to just concentrate on Dadgad. I have always loved Irish music but used to play covers and blues. So using your channel to get into a new direction playing Jigs and reels. Cheers mate, Sean.

    Can I do this with a thumb pick? Please answer me!

    • @aodancoynemusic
      @aodancoynemusic  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, I haven't tried it with a thumb pick myself. But I can't see why it wouldn't be possible. It might take a bit of practice if the thumb pick is a very heavy gauge, so maybe start practicing with a lighter gauge thumb pick and work your way up so that you an do it with the gauge you usually play with. Hope that helps.

    can i use triplet on 2 beats?

  • @christianjmyhre
    @christianjmyhre 3 года назад +1

    What if you wanted to do triplets for 2 beats in a row?

    • @aodancoynemusic
      @aodancoynemusic  3 года назад +1

      Hi Christian, I'll have a more advanced lesson on triplets within the next few weeks. But essentially in 4/4 time, two triplets in a row will take the place of beat 1 & beat 2. So it will be: trip-l-et, trip-l-et, 3, 4. (down, up, down - up, down, up - down - up). Start slow, build up the speed by playing to a metronome. Then challenge yourself by putting the double triplet on beat 2 and beat 3. Then on beat 3 and beat 4. Practice those patterns to a slow reel or tune in 4/4 time and have fun with it. I hope that made sense. Let me know how you get on and if you have any other questions just shout 👍
