  • Don't toss the warp ends when you cut your weaving project off of the loom. Save them and spin them with fiber to make a new fun yarn. See how it's done here.

    I love this use of scrap yarn! Because I save every little tidbit of yarn waste from weaving and knitting this will be a perfect use of those scraps. Thank you so much for sharing. I love watching your videos.

    It's totally amazing for the recycling attitude and the result is stunning! The tones of blue and green are gorgeous, reminds me of an ocean. Also, the ply you made with the different yarn gave it even more texture and charm.
    The second one looks very fun and happy and I found very interesting the technique you used by mixing the scraps with fiber, I wouldn't have this idea!
    I love your channel💖

    I have done something similar. I take a thin layer of wool, put my 2 to 3 inch pieces on top and then top these 2 layers with one more thin layer of wool. They all go in the carder at once. This helps break down the yarn a bit. When I fill the carder, I run it through a second time. The results are wonderful. I call it confetti yarn. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.

    I am thinking of doing this as well but my scraps are from an acrylic project. I hope it works!

      Try it, and good luck, I do hope it works. If you find it's doesn't (because the fibers don't have the natural scales that fiber animals have) still save the warp ends as there's other creative things to do with them. ~Shiree

    I love that you can use all the leftovers yarn and turn it into something new ! I have a carding board and I want to know if you blend it with cotton you have to place a layer of cotton first , then the sample yarn and another layer of cotton or just place on top the extra yarns and then rolled out ..

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  2 года назад

      Because cotton doesnt have the scales wool does it may be tricky to get the yarn leftover bits to stay with the cotton. You may want to add yarn bits while spinning so you can work it right into the spin. Also experiment both ways and see how it goes. ~Shiree

    The video has a vintage feel to it. Then I realised, it's the sofa. If you leave a smartphone somewhere, it will be like the Starbucks cup in Game of Thrones.

      Ahh the pink couch...it has a history. Best used on the Rehash Fiber set as it's not comfortable at all. How ever it has been photographed (with people on it) all over Tampa Bay. Thanks for watching. ~Shiree

    I love your channel ❤. I am very new spinner. All started when I started back crocheting and the I became curious on how create beautiful unique yarn for art theraphy due to medical condition. I have watching your videos and I am enjoying so much .
    Are you in the Tampa area ? Can you make a video of what yarn festival or yarn stores I can explore in Florida .I live in Fort Lauderdale and there is only one store . Do you know of more yarn stores or festival yarn in the west coast of Florida or Central Florida ..Thank you for expressing the joy of creating yarn ..Greetings from Fort Lauderdale

      Thanks for watching. Florida doesn't have a fiber festival. I do live in Tampa and we only have one good yarn store in the Tampa Bay Area called Criativity. As far as the west coast I dont know the stores over there, but for central FL there is a great store in Winter Haven called Four Purls with a huge selection of yarn. I make twice yearly trips there and spend the day. Good luck with your fiber exploration. ~Shiree

    I suppose if you have your scraps short enough that it’s not too much bother, you could unply them and let them get carded in a bit more?
    I seen this done on a blending board too!
    When I saw you Olive Garden brush cleaner I thought you were going to use that to reclaim your fluff from the loom waste bits!

    • @rehashfiber
      @rehashfiber  2 года назад

      I do use the brush cleaner for that. I have many skeins of licker bit waste turned into yarn, (did a show on it a while ago) and in the bin for rug weaving. All the best, and thank you so much for watching. ~Shiree
