    Those is not "pirate" ship it's actually replica of Portuguese galleons that raided Malacca about six centuries ago but.. wait you were right they were pirates disguised as navy.

      and don't forget before that the Mongols had Genocide the region long before the Europeans turned up..

    • @bukitkatilmp
      @bukitkatilmp 4 года назад +3

      @@iawarenow658 Agreed. But, the Europeans who invaded Asia stripped their colonies clean of their resources and stole the expensive stuff (eg, English stealing the Kohinoor diamond from India that Queen E wears on her crown). Therefore the English, Portuguese, Dutch and Spanish were considered 'pirates' rather than colonials by the Asian nations and they were mostly forcibly kicked out.

    Hey Legends! What camera are you running for most of the footage in these episodes?

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  6 лет назад +1

      Hey!
      Majority of shots are done on an Osmo+ which, for a sort of staged shot, the stabilisation is awesome though the connection process has nearly enabled a few ‘camera out the window’ events and plenty of profanities.

    • @LiveWorkWander
      @LiveWorkWander 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, I feel that. We used to have the Osmo. Hated hated hated the connection process.
      Another question: how much does your Troopy weigh fully fueled and water etc etc

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  6 лет назад +1

      Ha she’s a whopper. The fully laden weight is about 3700kgs (4t on your scales?). How bout yours?

    • @LiveWorkWander
      @LiveWorkWander 6 лет назад +1

      So, you're at 8,157 lbs / 4 tons. Fully loaded, our fella is 7,800 lbs / 3,538 kg (just under 4 tons). And that's with a carbon fiber roof (where yours is aluminum thus heavier), our bonnet is carbon fiber where I think yours is factory steel, and then we have carbon fiber inserts where the windows are in yours for additional weight savings. So, even though you're about 150kg heavier than us, I'd say we should be much lighter than you with all the weight savings from carbon fiber over steel, aluminum and glass...which means we're carry too much shit. 😫😩 Our rear bumper is around 275lbs (124kg) and we are considering removing that to be a little lighter in the ass. And we've discussed switching to an aluminum bumper up front for further weight savings. Are your rims steel (ours are aluminum)?

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  6 лет назад +1

      Well that makes me feel a bit better about the weight. Yeah steel rims + dual wheel carrier and additional wheel. You must be carrying a bit of gear! How much fuel and water do you carry? (We’ve got 180/70L).
      Although we’re heavy we put in suspension to suit so it drives smooth and the 1HD still pulls like a train. Have you got the FTE or FT?

    Just subscribed.Does it bother you guys that when you cut the roof of the car to open it interfered with the structural integrity and does it leak inside during heavy rains i.e from the gaps?

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks,
      Doesn’t bother us as it’s all engineered! The roof structure fixes to the original lateral roof braces and when closed and locked it’s rigid. Not sure what gaps you’re referring to though it definitely doesn’t leak.

    • @goldenboyi1989
      @goldenboyi1989 6 лет назад

      I meant that when you cut open a car part that is meant to be closed(the roof), it could potentially leak over time and during an accident, it could pop open as its not as strong before it was cut open

      Do you have the exact coordinates to the beach campsite? It looks like a real great spot!

  • @bayls8422
    @bayls8422 6 лет назад

    Good to see you guys reverse the vehicle back into a camp. I assume you're just taking advantage of the view from the rear of the car.....but it also has the side effect of being very good for defence (army style) because you can just drive your car directly out if trouble visits. Rather than have to turn it around 1st.

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  6 лет назад

      That is very true. We usually get a feel for the site safety before setting up. There has been instances where we have setup with the rear in for that exact reason though generally it’s dictated by the strength/direction of the wind.
