Care and Compassion (Guided Meditation)

- This practice focuses on cultivating a sense of care through holding each experience with a delicate tenderness. You will begin with checking in with sensory experience in the present moment. You will then be guided to follow the breath by caring about the sensations, allowing them to be in the foreground while everything else comes and goes in the background. The next part of the practice involves noticing if there is any suffering, discomfort, pain, or challenging experience that is present and holding it gently, with care and tenderness, repeating the phrase 'may I hold this suffering with ease'. Finally there is the option to imagine that the suffering you are feeling means that someone, somewhere, does not have to feel this pain, opening up a different way of experiencing whatever might be challenging in this moment.
