Kynan Tan is a meditation teacher who takes a collaborative approach to helping students deepen their meditation practice. He came to meditation after struggles with stress, anxiety, and depression and found the practice to be transformative. He believes that meditation has enormous potential for creating positive change and opening up new ways of relating to our experience.
Kynan draws upon a number of different modern and traditional techniques of contemplative and introspective practice. He is a longtime practitioner of the stages of śamatha-vipassanā (as presented in the book The Mind Illuminated), Rob Burbea's insight meditation techniques, nondual awareness, and brahmavihārā practices (mettā, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity). Kynan brings his experience as an artist, musician, and programmer into his understanding and sharing of meditation in a way that is clear, practical, and creative.
Kynan teaches retreats, 1:1 coaching sessions, courses, and classes.

Held in Loving Presence (28 m Guided Meditation and Short Talk)
This practice is a variation on metta practice that focuses on receiving kindness and love, exploring the phrase "May I be held in loving presence" (a phrase I learned from Tara Brach). First you will ground yourself and connect with the body space, tuning into the whole body field and doing your best to relate to it with kindness. Repeating the phrase, you will then be guided to bring different kinds of being held into your experience, from being held by grandparents, a loved one, to the loving presence of the Buddha or Jesus Christ, or visualising Quan Yin or Avalokiteshvara (the Bodhisattva of compassion). Hey Kynan! Was doing this meditation today and ran into 3 adds. I am sure it is not your doing and youtube did it automatically but I think there are ways to push them to the beginning or end of the video. Just something to look into

Hi @Wilson-Lloyd, I looked into this and it seems I can't turn off the ads or change where they are placed until I can get access to monetization, which then unlocks the ability to turn ads off! This is still a ways off as it requires 500 subscribers, and the number is growing but not that quickly 😅 So I have two suggestions 1) I always put a link in each video description that links to a page where you can do the meditation and also download, this won't have ads, or 2) You might find some other way to disable ads. I'll keep working on it, but it might be a little while so that's the temporary workaround. Thanks again for your continued support

Have you thought about making 45/60 min meditations?
Yes! Thanks for the prompt. I've just uploaded a 40 minute guided meditation, I hope to do more longer ones soon. Also just in case you haven't tried this before, I've found you can get good value from doing a guided meditation and then staying a bit longer, perhaps setting another timer/bell before starting if you know you have 45/60 minutes to practice.

Would love to see the meditations you have here on your youtube be placed into separate playlists such as concentration based, self compassionate based, do nothing, ect similar to your website.
