IKR, nothing is played by authenticated, well-deserved, hard-working musicians who have put in years of practice and dedication to hone their craft and master the instrument of their choice. You gotta ponder if (musicians) ever knew that sampling would ever reach this point would they've donated their skills to the sampling of these AI machines 🤔 🤨😐😏
👁👁👍And one should consider the fact that Mr. James Jamerson was drunk, and laying on his back on the floor when he played on this song. The man was a truly awsome bass player, for real... Wow! And he did it in one take !... AMAZING!!
Still relevant today in 2024 as it was when recorded. Hats off and Kudos to Bassman James Jamerson who put that extra sauce in all of Motown hits and many other non-motown hits.
I love the strings and vocals the most, both nearly had me in tears. But it's kinda hard to pick a favorite part of this masterpiece. Take away the bongos and congas and it's a much different experience.
@@HJsCorn909 thanks brother. You know there are more tracks on this album than just this single right? We need to release the instrumental versions of the album cuts; no vocals. Not remixes or deconstructions. Just play the song all the way through without vocals. We need the Funk Brothers instrumentals to be heard pristinely. In fact we need collections of albums of instrumentals from all of the tracks played by the Funk Brothers and MFSB from Philly (Gamble and Huff) from all the artists tracks’ that they played on. From Billy Paul to the O’Jays, those early 70’s tracks had the best orchestration in soul music.

Greatest song ever. Much appreciation for this breakdown of the individual parts.
Let's not forget about David Van De Pitte being the arranger/conductor for the strings.
Jamerson's part has me snapping along

I knew this was the hit you had in mind! Also, I think the drum box is called a cajon. Or was that just how they referred to it then?
That's how they refered to it back then
@@HJsCorn909 it pretty sounds like a kick and unsnared snare drum played with hands
Yes quest love got it from here 😂
Not quite. He got it from Harry Weinger.
Hey how can I deconstruct other tracks? Is there a software you use?
