Nate inside wasn’t enough Washington just pounded the ball inside which got drake into foul trouble. Tucker dribbling the ball was another thing that drake shouldn’t be doing. Atin should’ve been handing the ball not tucker.

The officiating was terrible in this game. The foul count should have been something like 13 to 50. Drake hacked, grabbed, and smashed the WSU players throughout the game and only about a third of them were called. I made a longer comment a little while ago with several examples from the highlight reel, but the comment got taken down. Not sure why. I hope Wazzu gets a better officiating crew next game.
The March Madness channel did that on the Samford Kansas highlights as well. Edited out the terrible foul call on the block. Don’t then know that’s half the reason any of us are here?!?
Not just the head coach but the whole staff who have worked hard to make these kids buy into their coaching idea and note that Smith speaks highly of the players calmness and respect for each other. Jabe Mullins, who seldom sees the court any more is the biggest cheerleader on the bench and I bet works the scout as if he were going to be a starter every game.
I watched the whole thing. I'm a WSU fan but it really felt like Brodie was the key for Drake. He was a force on the boards and it felt like without him on the court Drake's lineup just didn't have the size on offense or defense. After he ended up fouling out with 2:26 left, WSU regained the lead.
Why is Devries not shooting the ball towards the end? He should be the primary option but he looked scared to shoot down the stretch. I admit that the refereeing was terrible, but Drake should have done way more to keep their fate in their hands.
Coach D is a good coach but the problem is that he falters near the end of the game. Another problem is that he doesn’t really recruit defensive players he recruits more offensive players that can shoot or slash. Coach D really needs to find players that can defend and have 7’0 footers on his team because having a 6’10 and 6’8 player is not enough. Lastly he needs to play a tougher schedule because he plays mostly a weak non conference opponents.
