@@galedidwhatthat horrid stretch near the middle of the season combined with their 4-game losing streak to end regular season play is why they’re that low. We started off 11-3, got hit with injuries, and then went 6-11 in the rest of the regular season.
This N.C. State-Oakland matchup on Saturday is going to be a fun game to watch
The 11th ranked Wolfpack of North Carolina downed the 6th seed & 2019 Final 4 Semifinalist Red Raiders of Texas Tech University & will face Oakland which might be a fun matchup to watch.

I had nc state beating Kentucky in the second round to make sweet 16 but now they have an easier path with Oakland
Can talk about Horn and Burns all day long but Diarra is really a huge difference maker for this program. They have all the pieces to make a deep run.

NC State played lights out defense all game. If they defend like that all tourney its going to be tough for anyone to beat them

At this point I am convinced the NCAA is favoring football revenues on selection Sunday and preseason NET rankings.
It's been about four or five years that they have sold a narrative that the ACC was weaker than the SEC.
Even with fewer teams in the tournament, the ACC is still the best conference in basketball.

@@jeremiahthomas8140 yep, they went to the Championship a few times since 87, but lost twice to UNC (97 and 07) and twice to Duke (02 and 03).

I don't think you can call the best team in the ACC a Cinderella team. One of their top players literally fasted for Ramadan mid games and they STILL swept the conference. Elite 8 at minimum is an expectation for this team

Just imagine a 17-14 team who wouldn’t have even made the NIT might be one of the final 16 teams in all of college basketball. If they win it all this would be the most improbable story in the history of sports!
That Fresno State College World Series championship would still top this. A 4 seed in baseball is like a 13, 14, 15, or 16 seed in basketball.
@@jeremiahthomas8140 I remember them well, watched their whole run as a kid on TV, but my argument against them was the WAC was a one bid league and Fresno State was the one seed in the WAC, they were supposed to make the dance. NC state was a 10 seed in the acc in a 4 bid league. Had to win 5 games in 5 days against juggernauts. Fresnos run was improbable but they were supposed to win the WAC and did. State wasn’t even supposed to make the NIT. Still a crazy run by Fresno though.
