I was really annoyed when my ear pads started coming apart. I didn't realise it was this easy to sort them out though, so thanks for taking the stress outta the situation.
@nxtelucas I used lots of small spots of superglue around the peeling sections and then put it back together. The area where you glue does not need to be flexible so I was not too worried about what find of glue as long it was strong.
RUclips always having the perfect video for any problem is one of the greatest blessings of this age. I've only had my ps 5 for 5-ish months, but the earphones are already doing this. thank you.
@@OfficialCryptic they just arrived this morning and they are amazing, just by putting them on I can feel the new ones are way more comfy and breathable.
Cheers for the video and especially the link for these earpad replacements. I'm in a similar boat and have had my Pulse 3D headphones since close to launch, though one side has had the leather-like earpad cover gradually loosening. Was being careful not to make it worse, but with PSVR2 it's a lot harder to avoid and now the foam has started to show. Was worried/annoyed this would be a pain to fix or replace but after seeing your vid I'm confident that if anything this will be an improvement over the OEM ones. Got my replacements on the way now!
I have good news - if the leathery material is coming out, just use super glue! Good tip about clipping them on again. Push gently from inside - even a pencil will do - you don't need to aim at anything.
You definitely need to press the tabs as directed in the video. Or you will have the gap remaining when trying to put them back on. You can re-glue them back on but they'll just come right back off at the same time period or even faster. Regardless do as you please. My video is only my recommendation after all.
I had the PS4 gold headset and was surprised when a few months in the pads began to flake off. I figured this'd be something they fixed in this model but despite being exceedingly careful with it, wiping it with a soft cloth after every use, it's starting to flake after a year or so of use.
Welcome to the world of pleather (fake leather). It will always do that eventually. Thankfully you can change them out for real leather ones or any other material you prefer.
Hero!! I’ve just glued back my cushions, it’s a bit sloppy, but I cool gel ear pads sound like what I need anyway! My ears will get so hot that I rip these off to get some air (oh that’s why they’re busted lol). Looking forward to the gellies coming my way next week!!
I love pulse 3d even more than elites since clamping force is lower. I do need to replace my pads though since it's a bit sticky. thanks. Do you hear your heartbeat in new pads? don't they seal too much ?
Hey, I just ordered this. I’ve had a issue where the stock earpads have always made my ear hurt when on for a good amount of time cause they were way too thin and my ears are always pressed up against the plastic. I hope this would solve that issue too
Any suggestions on which ear cuffs to buy? I got some £10 ones from Amazon and they’re ridiculously uncomfortable compared to the ones that came with the headset
Hey Leesh, they're still looking brand new. No issues with them at all. Also, the gel pads are still keeping my ears cool during long gaming sessions. Even when doing VR2 as well, since it can become a sweaty experience. I still highly recommend them.
Something is really bothering me I googled no one mentions it or talks about it but can you replace the actual band on pulse headset the stretch headband thing
Did the clips snap? If not they should be softly but firmly pushed on. If the leather like material has started to sag like the video, then just buy the replacement ear pads like i did.
@@OfficialCryptic I’m pretty sure I got them to snap but they’re not fully in place and when I try to push them completely in place nothing happens but they’ll do for now they work just fine so that’s good
Have mine and they pulled apart in less than 2 months and took care of them they trash in that regard way worse than yours after first 2 months foam coming apart 2 on 1 side
I was really annoyed when my ear pads started coming apart. I didn't realise it was this easy to sort them out though, so thanks for taking the stress outta the situation.
Glad i could help and thanks for watching.
I had no idea they were removable. I've now removed mine, re-glued the peeling sections back on and they are all fine now.
@nxtelucas I used lots of small spots of superglue around the peeling sections and then put it back together. The area where you glue does not need to be flexible so I was not too worried about what find of glue as long it was strong.
@nxtelucas UK - Loctite Superglue. To be honest any permanent glue that sets
quickly and is very thin/viscous will be fine.

Thank you for watching, and glad my video could help you.
Mine just started wearing down and I was actually looking at these exact pads as a replacement, thank you for confirming my order has been placed
Glad the video was of help. Thank you for watching.
I was struggling with not being able to fully clip down and your video came clutch, thank you so much
Fr
Just bought a two of them for both of my headsets as the leather started coming off, can't wait to try them along with the cool gel.
Hope you like them and they last you the lifetime of the headset. Mine still look brand new and i use them regularly.
@@OfficialCryptic they just arrived this morning and they are amazing, just by putting them on I can feel the new ones are way more comfy and breathable.
Great tip about using plastic tool to snap ear pad on. Worked great. Had one side that wouldn’t snap on
One of my pins was not connecting properly and i was so sad and depressed then i saw your video got it fixed. Thanks brother you are best.
Thank you for watching and glad my video helped with getting the pads on for you.
I was struggling with the lower clicks and then i pressed it from inside it solved thank u for the video it really helped a lot man
Glad my video was able to help you. Also, thank you for watching.
Thanks for the tip getting the last bits to click in. I was struggling with that until I saw your video other video's didn't explain this point

finally . ur video helped a lot. i kept having space between the pads.
Glad it helped. Thank you for watching.

@@OfficialCryptic always? Why the hell do they still make stuff out of it xD. What accelerates the deterioration? Heat? Sweat?
I managed to glue back my og earpads, but i couldn't install it properly. Thanks for eplaination. I pushed the pins with the ifixit tool
Very cool thanks for sharing this !!
This helped. I couldn't get one part clipped
I’m a clown, been looking at a new headset😂 you‘ve saved me here man
Glad my video was able to help you. Trust me I almost did the same thing. Until i accidentally noticed that the pads could be easily swapped out.
Thanks bro. this was really helpful. Really appreciate it :)
Your video helped allot. I kept having a little gap on one side. Once you showed how to push the clip in know it sits flush thanks. Very helpful
I'm glad my video helped. Thank you for watching.
Thinking about purchasing these myself. Are the earpads still holding up well? Any complaints?

No they don't. If anything they're even more comfortable for longer gaming sessions.
I got the first pulse 3d headset and it still works good, but the coating around the earmuffs are coming off too.
Thanks for this, my headset is moulting black flakes off the earpieces and head padding 👍🏻
how much more noise isolation do these 3rd party ear cushions do?....

@@mylaanus it’s not perfect but it definitely did help and does feel better for bigger ears. Definitely can’t go back to the normal earpads now👍🏻
Quiet informative
Thank you!!!!!

Where can I buy these from? Seems to not exist anymore
I already replaced the ear cups , but I'm looking for the mesh between the ear cups, and the speakers end up falling off having it 4 years
Thanks bro.
Hey Cryptic, how are these holding up now 6months later?

@@OfficialCryptic Thanks for the reply! Great to know! Will definitely be going down this avenue, much appreciated :)
Stock ones aren't comfortable! After an hour or two my ears start to hurt. I ordered a different pair of pads.
Can you replace filters that came out because glue wears off the effect?
Dude I had that problem just that I didn’t know what it was called
Hard to find on taobao. But probably possible
I had mine for about a year and mine are the same the leather part is just coming off
Thank you
Thank you for watching.
Can you get these in stores like Walmart?
Don't have Walmart here. You could always do a quick Google search to see. But Ebay and Amazon have plenty.
Man the original earpad quality sucks for how easily it breaks down
Yep and the replacements are still holding strong. Look at new as they day i did this video with them.
Is there a way we can order the exact same replacement pads?
Sony don't make OEM ones available for sale. But you can find near identical ones online.
Something is really bothering me I googled no one mentions it or talks about it but can you replace the actual band on pulse headset the stretch headband thing
Haven't had any issues or even a reason to replace the headband. Not even sure you can, to be honest.
Or just glue it?
Yo is there a way to put them back on? Mine just fell off

Use a pry tool like i did in the video. I had the same issue and it got the pads fitting flush to the rest of the headset.
must be happening a lot...the pads are currently unavailable ...thats my luck for ya
