"Very Well, Very Well! I like the sound and I like everything, the interpretation. Very Well! It was very well studied... Very Well, Very Well! I am very Glad! Very Well, Very Well!" - Andres Segovia
This expanded footage is great! It is good to hear Segovia pleased with his student. Ray is really great!!! He is probably the best interpreter and communicator of the Segovia repertoire!!!

JulianJules One time while visiting him in Spain, Segovia (who was well up there in his age) informed my uncle Larry that he still practiced five hours a day. He would wake up before his wife, practice technique and scales, have breakfast with his wife, practice some more, take a nap, wake up and practice repitoire (he had memorized by heart three whole recitals worth of music (close to 100 pieces)). By five o'clock, he would have the evening free to spend with his wife or friends IF he didn't want to keep practicing. He did this everyday. In his eighties and nineties it was still a full time thing. He told Larry that a reporter once asked him "why isn't there more guitarists as talented as himself?", at which Segovia replied "Because most guitarists are still in bed by nine."

En la esquina se puede contemplar al maestro José Tomás, que nos dejó hace diez años, y a quien pude conocer en cursos.

what? a lot of the players went on to be successful. Now, international recording artists may be a different thing but Segovia was a lightning rod for the guitar as its repertoire would be nowhere without him...

cool those are some frightening chord progressions that Ray is using here and i thought Yngwie Malmsteen was the classical master LOL and to learn to play like Segovia would take me a few life times at least LOL
