Anglo-Indian Bread Pudding

  • Pearl's Anglo-Indian Pudding is a deliciously unique pudding, it's packed with flavours from the East and the West. Can be eaten warm or cold with or without cream.
    Ingredients:
    600mls Hot Milk or (2 & half mugs) (NOT 6ml AS STATED IN VIDEO)
    1 Cup Desiccated Coconut
    Half Cup Golden Raisins
    1 Cup Split Almonds
    2 Tbls Ghee or Butter
    5 Eggs Beaten
    1 Cup Fine Sugar
    5 Slices Bread no crust
    2 Tsp Vanilla Essence
    Quarter Tsp Nutmeg
    Half Tsp Ground Green Cardamom
    Eighth Tsp Mace

    My mother use to make this pudding. Gone are the days of those childhood memories and years. Your presentation is too good.

    Never heard of Anglo Indian Bread pudding. Mum used to make an egg custard with gulab jams inside its delish. Will make this. Xx

    Yes i like grams too as the cups may differ...made your chicken curry and country captain ..my husband loves them both...going to try your beautiful AI pudding..🥰😁

    How many grams of sugar and how many grams coconut? Sorry I do not work with cup measurements

    Hi Pearl, how do you make this in the oven. Do you use a steam bath that's covered in foil? What temperature and time would you use?

      I did see this video. Have been enjoying watching your videos. I want to know if it can be baked in the oven as an option and if you have tried it.

      Hi Lana , yes I have tried it in the over you can bake it at 180 degrees for around hour and a half but put foil on top of it starts to brown too much, I personally prefer the steamed one as it’s lighter and more moist, but the flavour is the same 🙏🏽🤗❤️
