    Good morning 🌅, very good topic, they not looking after their loyal customers, they are loosing their loyal customers, and their has been dealerships closing, especially in the UK, . And they have lost their soul., Too many electronics, And they no longer sound like a Harley, Asked to point I was in a town about two weeks ago a brand-new Harley Davidson came past I had to look twice to see whether it was a Harley, as I did not recognise the sound, I’ve got nothing against Japanese bikes but that’s what it sound like,

    Why would anyone buy a new Harley for their first bike? Why not buy a used one for 1/4 of the price? I’ve had five Harleys in the 15 years I’ve been riding and never bought a bike with over 15k miles and never spent over $5k. If I had $30,000 I would buy and build up at least three bikes.

      Yep, that's the ticket... I went into a dealer once about twenty-five years ago; bought a couple closed head rivets for my Evo Ultra... have never spent over $10K for a bike, and quite a bit less for my current TC Heritage... I'm happy that folks buy new ones, but there are plenty of "broken-in" ones out there...

    Harley is done. They'll be a boutique brand in the future, since they can't get their heads out of their arses.
    I have a 17 Ultra Classic with over 40K on it. I wouldn't get much for it so I'll keep it for the time being. I've ridden a lot of different bikes since I got the FLHTCU, (including the Pan America for a year and a half) so it doesn't see much riding these days.
    I wouldn't mind an Indian or Kawasaki dresser. Time will tell but I have ZERO plans to buy another new bike from Harley until they get rid of Zeitzenburger or get sold to a respectable company/individual.

    I am part of a very large motorcycle social group in Texas. Harley, R.I.P. it's over with in my group. Ages range from 25 to 50 with most being in their late 20's to early 30's. All have moved over to Adventure bikes and have discovered a whole new world. On road / offroad is hot and Harley is not.

    My local Indian dealer had a record bike sales month in August, 30% were to former Harley owners ( most Indian dealers sell Harley trade-ins to Harley dealers, but most Harley dealers are so stuffed they will not even give them numbers) other Indian dealers in the state are reporting similar numbers. A lot of reports from around the country are Harley dealers are stuffed with 2024's as well as several 2023's, as you Harley sales are manufacturer to dealer. I am not sure how much sympathy there is for dealers who regularly put customers so deep underwater on their financing. I think the 3rd quarter report will be telling and the 4th quarter report will be interesting also.

      The funny part is Polaris actually did the same thing as Harley the news story wasn't picked up 😂 imagine going from one brand to another because you don't believe their policies but that brand actually has the same exact policies😂 and Indian has major quality issues they're actually telling you to leave it on the charger because it drains the battery in 2 days🎉

    I'm still trying to wrap my head around ths one and what to think about it. I do question the importation of American bikes made elsewhere, but Harley did that before with Aermacchi in the '60s & '70s. American buyers voted with their wallets and that ended. Another concern expressed is pushing smaller independent dealers out, favoring bigger and bigger regional mega dealers. I like smaller shops too, but the big ones are ok if they aren't to far away. I read something about HQ issuing something DEI related down to dealers, but still haven't seen what it actually said. I get Government forced (mandated) DEI leadership training too. If it's anything like that, it's just the same EEO type training we've been getting already forever. The new DEI I was just forced to take added absolutly nothing over the annual EEO stuff I'm already mandated to take. The Motor Company cutting out the entry level bikes seems like the biggest mistake to me. But, again, I'm fairly certain the market will react to teach them a lesson. Sure, I'm still boycotting the NFL (BS kneeling crap) and Target (for starting the whole men in womens bathroom debacle, why not just stay out of that?), but I'm not seeing anything here with HD to get me that excited yet. Could that change? Yes, absolutely, if and when more information comes out that I'm missing. Are snarky comments from keyboard warriors online calling me names without offering up any reasons/compelling explanations? No, those usually just end up embarrasing them, not me. But my eyes and ears are wide open if I'm missing something!

      No they did way worse than that they were actually giving money to that program that lets children castrate themselves🎉 they actually brought trans into Harley-Davidson to try to teach Dei🎉😂 and they're only supposed to be moving production there for a year because they have to retrofit the American shops🎉 which is still a terrible idea that's what crushed Chevy years ago🎉 a lot of bad decisions happening all at the same time and the only people that will lose out are going to be the American workers🎉 look at Bud Light Anheuser-Busch made more than ever last year and now they can move their production to another country and make more money forever🎉 the only people that lost out were American jobs

    My 2019 Harley Roadster is Pre Woke. I am not selling it. I am not planning on buying a new Harley. I am looking at Triumph bikes. I am not thrilled about Harley being Woke. Personally if a CEO hurts sales by a bad decision they should face the consequences. Harley is a very expensive luxury toy. There are other brands that cost less and the dealerships are not trying to squeeze every single cent out of their customers with over priced service and repairs. HD should be swimming in cash. Their merchandise sales alone should be able to give many countries GDP a run for their money. So. Why is HD constantly complaining they are broke while raising prices to kill any entry level riders? This German CEO is a mess.

      Harley has been running broke for decades. Their client base is literally dieing off. Harley isn't luxury just because somebody who makes money selling them said so. They are overpriced crap bought by crybabies. If you want Harley to survive, stop being dicks to other riders on the road. The brand needs to be inclusive to get new customers. Harley has to change the attitudes of the current client base. Who the F wants to be stranded at the side of the road with those people. Go Japanese, no crybabies or boycott. Just reasonably priced, quality products.

      @cruisinwithphil  День назад +1

      Are you looking at touring bikes? The Indian bikes do have a longer wheelbase, I can say from experience that the touring bikes have a longer distance from the seat to the bars as compared to Harley. But being 6'4" you may want to look at getting an extended reach seat that gives you even more leg room. I'm not convinced the longer wheelbase on the Indian will be enough to be comfortable.

    Bikes aren't puma shoes. There's so much money in service, mods, and upgrades.
    Besides if you want to make a bike a luxury item, you need to match it with substance. Harley is still putting halogen bulbs on $20k and above bikes. Luxury my ass. Cheaper bikes have more tech and amenities than Harley.

The truth is, HD is like most big American companies and flirts with the latest craze from human resources dept. Woke, DEI, etc. is just the latest fad.
