- You "should" angle your rear shocks forward, but you "know" your rig, better than anyone else !! It would probably keep your rig more stable, on "steep" ascents !!! 😉 Just my thoughts, from an outside point of perspective !! 👍 😎
Hey, thanks for the sub! It definitely has a bit more weight up top with the hard body. The trx4 axles may sit a bit higher but they sure work well in my local terrain!
I live my trx been thinking about rebuilding on that atl chassis. If your interested in more portal clearance and better low weight I would check out GRC axles I found mine on eBay they are high clearance direct metal replacement for the trx4.
Hey iceman, thanks for that video. I was just thinking of building my first lcg rig. I just bought the trx4 sport axles, and was just trying to put everything together in my head first. I want to use a hobbywing fusion motor. It looks like you used the stock 2 speed trx4 tranny. I’m not sure if that makes the motor sit up a little higher than the single speed tranny, but I was wondering if you had any issues with that motor hitting any of your front links. I’m guessing that the motor you used is about average stock 540 size??? Of course the HB fusion is probably about 1/2” longer than stock.
Thanks for watching! I have used the 1800kv Fusion on this exact build and it fit perfectly while using the 2 speed trans. I personally don't have any experience with the single speed but as far as I can tell, the height should be the same. The clearance on the front links was more than enough using the BrazingScale ATL chassis. Hope this helps!
@@Icemanrc Maaannnnn!! You are a life saver. I really appreciate your advice, and that information is awesome. Now, I think I can go with Brazin ATL. I can use a stock TRX, single speed tranny, and my favorite motor/esc combo, and it will be…let’s call it a “budget build”, or at least a lot cheaper than trying a outrunner motor, fancy quite esc, that might, or might not have a high enough voltage bec, which would cause me to buy a direct power servo. What about those Delrin links you used from brazin for the Traxxas set up?? I know nothing about them. Are they soft and flexible, which I don’t want?
They do well under certain circumstances. For trailing and mild crawling they leave a lot to be desired. Once you get into technical crawling it starts shining! Make sure to run a heavier weight oil in the shocks to help with the speed of unloading!
@@Icemanrc thanks! I tried it on my class 2 trx4 with heavy oil and started hanging up on a lot of stuff. I'm still running them but with light springs only in the rear, still no springs up front, and it's been doing great!
Cool tune crawler, excellent work bro!)🤩💥💯👍👏
Looks like a awesome build. Great video
Fantastic backyard course 👏💥
Thank you! It's a start!
looks great hope tosee more im build my first truck its a gspeed on trx4sport axles with sport trans and shocks

That combo is quite incredible!

cool vid! appreciate the views number! keep it up! big like! 👍👍👍
Very nice rig .And awesome corse your gonna want to get the aluminum panhard mount from brazin I kept braking that 3d one you have now
Thanks man!
I upgraded to the aluminum one about a month ago!
Thanks for the heads up!
Cool build awesome bro, done subscribe
Thank you for watching!
It's super snowy here in Northern Ohio, but videos will be starting up again very soon!
Multiple new trucks have been built!
You want the high clearance links bend towards the axle. It looks awesome tho
Oh really? I can't believe I put them on backwards... Thanks for the heads up!!
@@Icemanrc no problem . That’s where the high clearance will come into play on break overs and etc, tires will hit before the links 😎
@@RockinTrailZ That makes perfect sense! Outside eyes often see more than the one staring at it ;)
Thanks again and thanks for watching!
Subbed buddy, rig still looks a little heavy up top dude, I’ve got the weight way down on mine using TRX4 Sport Axles
Hey, thanks for the sub! It definitely has a bit more weight up top with the hard body. The trx4 axles may sit a bit higher but they sure work well in my local terrain!
@@Icemanrc The axles work well, the portals add a little height obviously but weighted correctly that’s no issue.

I'm currently in the works of building another trx4 based LCG. I'll definitely check those out, thanks!
Freaking slick
Thanks a bunch!

Where did you get your bed been looking everywhere this thing is so hard to find
I purchased mine from Amain.com
It's the bobbed mojave II bed.
How is your experience with the trx4 shocks without springs?
They do well under certain circumstances. For trailing and mild crawling they leave a lot to be desired. Once you get into technical crawling it starts shining! Make sure to run a heavier weight oil in the shocks to help with the speed of unloading!

what is your shock setup?
Running no spring on TRX4 shocks, 80wt oil front, 60wt rear.
what tool did you use to cut the body?
On this particular body, I used a dremel with a cut off wheel and a tube sander to finish the edges.
Do you have overdrive and underdrive?
Just overdrive in the front axle.
@@Icemanrc I asked because it looked like you could be nadir from it. Do you plan on throwing under in the rear?
