This was, without a doubt, the most enjoyable and informative fragrance review that I've ever seen. I'm so intrigued by your description, that I've ordered a bottle. Thank you. You have a new subscriber. 🙂
@@ACSmellsGoodInitially, I thought that I'd made a mistake with this fragrance. It's so far removed from my previous experiences. Almost scary to wear in fact. I'm now rather obsessed with it! I've already found a treasure trove of wonderful content on your channel. Your chess themed artwork is also intriguing. ( I play rather badly. ) Best wishes from East Yorkshire.
@@HELLO-iq5rb I am so delighted to hear that you love this fragrance and that you are enjoying the content on the channel. Heres hoping you keep finding more fragrance gems on my channel :).
I’ve been wearing this for years and your description of gothic, brooding and misty - a concept fragrance - is so damn perfect you totally put into words what it says in scent. Really well done, this is such a thoughtful video. To me this isn’t a depressing scent but more one for when you pull on your coat and wrap your scarf that bit tighter and head out into a slightly misty, drizzly day. It’s cosy, comforting.
I really like the way you put the emotions you feel when you wear this and totally agree. This fragrance truly is something else and I hope they never discontinue it as there is genuine love for this fragrance like Versace Dreamer or Fahrenheit or Bel Ami, the fragrance has a distinct personality. Thanks for watching :).
Hello mate, nice to see you are enjoying the burst of reviews. Actually, I haven't done reviews for a while so I am really behind on the reviews I wanted to do. I am just catching up with great speed :).
Ha! You nailed it. This is one of my favorite rainy day frags. However, I’ve found it can work equally well on a sunny summer day. When I tire of the summer colognes, citrus-woods, etc. I sometimes pull it out for a change. I also use this as a teaching tool for people who (don’t know what they’re talking about and) criticize synthetics. It smells quite natural, and without out them, it wouldn’t work at all.
agree ... also doing because sometimes fragrances for autums can beautifully open in the summer heat and brings completely different nuances that are closed behind the door during the colder season
Thank you so very much for not only giving Encre Noire it's just due, but also for giving Nathalie Lorson the respect she deserves! She's my favorite Perfumer for the very same reason you've mentioned here. INCREDIBLE TALENT!! And it takes an elequent man, such as yourself, to display the true emotion this fragrance evoques, as well as your uncanny ability to command proper respect for both! Expertly done my friend! Btw, I finally added Encre Noire Sport and now own all from this line and I love them all equally for their own reasons. ALL are masterpieces!
It reminds me of those fancy scented chalk balls in multi-colored foil wrapping. It reminds me of childhood and smells absolutely fantastic. I’m talking about Encre Noir.
Knowing that this fragrance was designed ode to Biches inkwell of Lalique makes this fragrance more valuable. They have tried to create an image of inkwell and they really did achieve it. Fragrance has dark, kind of fire, woody smell. And the package of the fragrance is like burned woods has been carved to make a box. This is just a profound work of art to appreciate, not for fancy environments. To wear this, you should be in same line with profile of fragrance: classy, strict, snob. Otherwise fragrance will wear you
Please remember this is not “cheap” in that it’s not meant to be a budget fragrance.. it’s high quality, lists for over $100, it’s just highly discounted, like a lot of others like Bentley, Dunhill, etc.
AC I am reading Dracula at the moment and this fragrance belongs in that book. Everything you describe the authors has captured about the castle of a Transylvanian nobleman, Count Dracula. The book's definitely a classic and I wonder if Lawson has read the book or loves the book...as its superbly written! Maybe its a coincidence that I am reading this and hanging on to your every word in disbelief. Anyway, if you havent read it yet, highly recommended!
haha I have heard so much about that book. I have added it to my list of books to read. I am more into non-fiction but I do read classic literature so this is in. You are 100% right, if count Dracula had a signature scent, this would be it.
@@ACSmellsGood I am also very much a non fiction kind of guy and I'm getting into fiction as it's a good escapism from the awful news cycle. I'm a history and architecture buff so I dwell on books rather than just read them😂
I think the Lalique is just a little bit more interesting than the Bentley. But the Bentley is going for a different vibe.. they’re both “incense-y” but the Bentley goes down the Oud/Wood path and the Lalique goes down the vetiver trail. I have both, and you should too.
Dr. Nikhil's Sycomore review and AC's Encre Noire review with a couple of days difference. Very nice coincidence. I don't know about Sycomore but I have Encre Noire which is wonderful woody scent. It is like writing on a parchment made of wood pulp with a fountain pen made of wood.
@ACSmellsGood 😅 well..if I'm going to honest. I've never got a compliment from the people I hang out with 😂. but two work colleagues and two random people.
I am hoping it will change with time. The EN line needs to macerate and you also need to waste a few sprays to create a gap between the top of the bottle and the level of the fragrance so that air can interact with it. That is what I have learned.
I love it. Own the extreme and sport and really enjoy them all.

Very different intriguing scent . Punches above its price range. Stellar presentation AC much appreciated 🙏
Thank you and totally agree :).
AC thanks for the review , just to say somehow the audio is a bit unclear and difficult to hear compared to earlier vids.
Absolutely stunning composition and it's the example that cheap doesn't always mean low quality. this is a statement maker
Indeed this is a fantastic budget fragrance.
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day
Thank you Michael :)
You welcome keep up the good work GOD BLESS 🙏

You're banging them out at an amazing rate! Love the reviews and learn a lot! Hello from Toronto!

Indeed I can see this working on sunny days as well, but I feel this smells the best when it is raining and a bit cold.
I like wearing it on summer. I think it's great for hot days. There's a lot of freshness in it

I couldn't agree more all the ENs are brilliantly done and Nathalie Lorson, well what can I say, besides I just adore her work. She is a true maestro.
I bought Armaf legesi after watching your review, and I am loving it. Thank you.
I am so glad to hear your feedback. I really like Legesi myself. Have you tried Al Wissam Day by Rasasi?
@ACSmellsGood No Sir, not yet. But since you suggested, I will definitely try when I get a chance.
This fragrance was love at first sniff for me and the entire line are STILL among the best cheapies I own.
So good to hear that :).
Fellaaaas 👍😊😄

@ophermoses, you should sample Trumpers Eucris EDP another masterpiece, even more gothic and I’d say has to be Draculas fragrance of choice 🧛♂️
Lalique Encrè Noire Extreme vs Bentley for men Absolute, who’d win?
Now that is a fantastic question :). Let me do a video on that.
I think the Lalique is just a little bit more interesting than the Bentley. But the Bentley is going for a different vibe.. they’re both “incense-y” but the Bentley goes down the Oud/Wood path and the Lalique goes down the vetiver trail. I have both, and you should too.
More of these consistent videos, less of those months long absences AC! 👍👍👍
hahaha indeed if I can help it.
Fellas, consistency 👍
Haha thank you Abid bhai, I am trying to be more consistent as the backlog of what I wanted to finish reviewing is huge.

Nice imagery :)
surprisingly, it's my most complemented fragrance out of my whole collection.
hahah who do you hang out with ?
@ACSmellsGood 😅 well..if I'm going to honest. I've never got a compliment from the people I hang out with 😂. but two work colleagues and two random people.
I think you'd appreciate Natalie Lorson's recent release, Montblanc Vetiver Glacier
About time 🔥🔥🔥🔥EN lines and EN Blue and Ombré need to be reviewed by the master himself !!!!
I shall do so in due course ...
I love this scent and I am on my scent bottle... I first bought a 50ml and now I am on a 100ml... Great Scent...!!!
Indeed its a very good fragrance.
Love the fragrance but longevity on my skin is poor, need to get my nose on the Extreme version, take care AC 👍🏻
I am hoping it will change with time. The EN line needs to macerate and you also need to waste a few sprays to create a gap between the top of the bottle and the level of the fragrance so that air can interact with it. That is what I have learned.
@@ACSmellsGood Noted with Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
If Count Dracula had a signature scent...
could not agree more :).
AC, 500 is coming, live party on the channel? ;-)
Indeed :) I don't know about live party but I will definitely come up with a nice video :).
Sir, I think you are really excited to do a 500th video 😅. Btw great review as always.
Thank you :) I am excited while shooting every single videos, this true passion of mine :).
