Highgate Road, Hampstead Heath and Highbury. My local stomping grounds. Always sends a shiver when Madness mentions the places I grew up.
Thommo at his best.. Prog madness.. Welcome to the house of Kippah...
Madness whip out the synth! Caught me off guard listening through the first time, but I love the sound on this one, futuristic but a bit retro, and very theatrical. Vocals remind me a little bit of Kevin Rowland for some reason, perhaps some of the inflexions. Love the new album, and that's from someone who's 17, so just goes to show how universal Madness are. Bravo!
MaDnEsS whip out the synthesiser, and I am all for it. Still making us dance in 2023! ❤
Fantastic 👏
1979 -2023, That unmistakable nutty sound, long live the Nutty Boys, legends of England🏁
The album exceeded my expectations. It's a beautiful piece of work. Full of thought and depth.
I think this is the best track on the album. It's absolutely brilliant.
Amazing how tastes can differ but I hate this one, Lee always has one track like this on every Album and it just isn't the Madness sound for me but respect your opinion and I'm glad you enjoyed it
I have to agree that this track is musically and lyrically brilliant
Think this is the way to go madness using synth aswell love it
Fantastic - love it!
These guys!!
This could easily be on Rise and Fall
I love how this sounds like a classic Disney villain song!
This Should be the direction Madness should take! It's brilliant - and the vocals are a marked improvement on Suggs By Far the stand out track on the new Album. Well done!
I hope I don't offend anyone since I don't think it's a bad thing but I feel like it's the most gothic song on Madness. This song sounds like a composition with Dave Vanian. Love it!
How, Mister Thompson!! 🤣
Hampstead..highgate road...kentish town..Camden.... The Aldenham.
I dunno why, but the rift in this reminds me of a old police drama, like the bill or something, i just can't put my finger on it.
Pet Shop Boys meets Madness.
Lee thompson
Madness meets the Buggles?
Anyone want to take a stab at the meaning behind this song? Who is Dr. Kippah? Not mentioned in the lyrics. But Father Patrick and Enrico Sidoli (15yr old drowned in a public pool in 1976) are. I'm a bit lost here. The references are too regional for this Yank.
I live 30 minutes down the road and haven't got a clue either! 😂
Lee writes a lot about things in his past - he grew up by the Lido where Enrico was assaulted. the family reopened appeals not too long ago for information and if you Google there’s a pic of a guy who was in the pool at the time who could have info.
As for Dr Kippah it’s believed it’s a reference to the infamous “Mr Kipper” who made a appointment with estate agent Suzie Lamplugh who went missing subsequently
@@nuttybex lee is amazing.
It's where we all used to hang around...Just off highgate road..the lido, than a bag of chips..bad time for nw5 when that happened.
its Dr Falsie the one that smells a bit fishy you know Law and Odour
Who's singing.?
Is this Prog Rock?
@katoness This is the heavy monster sound
The naughtiest sound around
So if you go on the street
And you begin to feel a heat
You better listen to the rock steady beat of madness. 🎉😂😅😊
Listened to it again, rubbish, only 2 or 3 worth listening to on this album, I love madness but not this or can't touch us now,it's not madness,
Hum....
